  1. We received our NOA2 June 19th and this afternoon, when I called the NVC, they had just assigned us a case number and entered it into their system. Hopefully you will have yours soon!

We received our NVC Case number last night. NOA2 approval date was June 22nd. Should have hard copy in the mail in a couple of days. They tell everyone 35 days when in fact it takes 20 to 21.

  2. I just got my NOA2 approval after RFE!!! Almost can't believe it. Of course my Fiancee is sleeping and won't know until morning  Thanks to everyone who helped keep me sane to this point! I'm am really wishing the remaining April filers get caught up soon, it's really crazy the order things are processed. I guess I need to figure out what to do next!

Hey, Congratulations to another April Filer. I hope the rest of you hear very soon.

  3. Hey guys! I got my noa2 on June 15th and I wondering if it is necessary to call the nvc to ask for my number...we dont really have the time to be waiting for ever on the telephone, plus i dont want to torture myself again by checking the website to see how our case is going. my logic right now is...we have to wait for the package to arrive anyways lol

They will mail you the notice. But some countries allow you to go on-line to complete the DS-160 and schedule the interview just as soon as you have the NVC Case Number. So that is why I am so anxious to get the Case Number .......... so my fiance and I can then go right on line, complete the DS-160 and at least have the interview date booked. (assuming that the first available is like a month out or so).

  4. aww i'm sorry! it'll get there!

nope, not every day. i got my NOA2 on the 11th, i called the first time on the 23rd (knowing it wouldnt be there, but just wanted to get a feel for the automated system and if i had to press any prompts etc). i called again on the 26th. then the 29th (a monday) i called in the morning and was actually told it wasn't there yet...i called back again in the evening and was told it was received on the 27th :huh2: LOL! and got my case number. clearly they don't always give accurate information. i was told yesterday that my case was sent to the embassy on july 2nd, but it was actually sent on june 29th or 30th. :huh2: lol

in my opinion...evening is probably better to call, because if they didnt do anything with your case the day before, then your status is going to be the same when you call the next morning. but if you call in the evening, it's possible they'll have done something with your case that day. so definitely keep trying!!!

Sounds like excellent advice !! Thank you Shellymarie.

  5. To the April filers who still have not received their NOA-2, I think there must be something wrong. If you didn't receive an RFE, and your case is not "extremely complicated" (criminal history or 12 prior marriages, etc.), then the wait seems to be too long !!

There must be somebody who can provide answers at the CSC !!

I will tell you that I do not think that writing your Congressperson or Senator will help. Before I began this entire process, I wrote to my Senator and asked if there was anything that we could do to expedite the process even before it began. I received a letter back telling me that in "matters related to immigration, elected officials were strictly prohibited from involvement". I don't know if this is just what they tell people because they must get a lot of requests, or what. But just FYI. Congrats if anyone else has better results.

Anyway, keeping my fingers crossed for the April filers !! Hey, it is 7/7. Might be a lucky day !!!

  6. I've been calling during two hours!!! Everytime I heard the begging of the "busy" message I hang up and call again, until the last time that got connected within 30 secs hehe

Now I am finally on hold. So I will just be hearing this "hold music" in my sleep tonight, instead of the guy's message...... but a small price to pay if they actually have my Case Number, which I doubt because it is only 2 weeks since NOA-2.

  7. lol you just gotta keep redialing..................and then wait haha. i hit redial 19 times in a row today before i got in LOL then i was on hold for 30 minutes! GOOD LUCK!

Wow, I was redialing when I would get a busy signal, but then I got that recording. I will just keep redialing. I imagine too because it is a Monday, following the long weekend, they must be especially busy.

Thanks for the info.... (and the guy laughing emoticon). Just kidding. You need to keep a sense of humor going through this. Redialing now. OH, I just got a busy signal... wonder if that is a step backward or forward.

Thanks again. I think I will be hearing this guy in my sleep tonight.

  8. i don't believe so. but maybe try asking in the forum specific to your country

HI all, I know in some countries as soon as you have the case number you can complete the ds-160, pay the fee, and schedule the interview. that only makes sense because if they are booked very far in advance, it is good to be able to schedule the interview as soon as you are able.

  9. We just got our NOA2!! This is incredible timing for it to happen too. I am flying today to visit my fiancee in Ukraine. My connection is in Frankfurt... I got off the plane, turned on my cell phone, and then a text message from US CIS popped saying our case had been updated! So then I was frantically running around trying to find a wifi hotspot so I could see what the update was. Finally after about 15 minutes, I logged in and there was the approval notice!!

Now I'm sitting here in the terminal waiting on my connecting flight, and chatting with her about this great news! In a few hours we'll be together to celebrate! I'll be coming back home in two weeks (July 12), perfect timing to call the NVC for our case number on Monday the 13th. :dancing:

Congratulations James and everyone receiving their NOA2 last night!!!! Hardest part is over!

  10. Hey David! just wanted to let you know I got my case number today! took about 18 days. i dont know when the case actually got there because the guy wouldnt let me get a word in and just transferred me to another department before i could ask lol i'd say it's safe to assume that it'll probably be at least next week before yours gets there. good luck! :)

Thank you Shelly Marie. Were you calling them everyday? We just received the hard copy of the NOA2. It spells out pretty nicely what happens next.

I have to tell you, and everyone who has received the NOA2, I really think the hardest part is over. Yes, of course, there is still the waiting, which really sucks, but it seems like from reading the NOA2 notice, as long as the beneficiary brings everything required to the interview, and doesn't screw up badly on the answers at the interview, then there should be nothing to worry about, as far as this thing becoming a reality. :)

I know there is that big checklist of things to do before the interview, and I definitely don't want to become complacent, but I think we're about 75% there......as well as all those who have received the NOA2 LETTER.

  11. You don't receive notification from them. you just have to call (1-603-334-0700) to see if they got it and/or if they have your case number available. it usually takes about 2-3 weeks (even though they'll tell you 35 days) from the NOA2 date for them to receive it and/or have your case number assigned. Mine still hasnt been received and i have an NOA2 date of 6/11. Good luck!

    congrats!! finally!! :) :) :)

Thanks so much for that information! Wow, 6/11? Ours is 6/22 so I guess I won't call for awhile. I live only 20 minutes from that VISA center..... Maybe I should just go there in person in a couple of weeks. Lol

  12. We just got our NOA-2!!!!!!! Only 4 days after replying to RFE and exactly 2 months after NOA-1 date!!!!!!!! ?????????????????

So happy!!! Tried calling my fiance and the #=@*(*@& circuits are all busy!!!! Arch!!!! So frickin happy though!!!

So excited that I just screwed up that post!!! LOL

  13. Hey quick question for all of you that responded to RFE's... did you send your responses via overnight Express mail? Or did you use the slow snail mail envelope that they provide? I'm responding to me RFE probably tomorrow, and I'd definitely prefer to use Express mail if they'll accept it!

We sent via express mail and then received the text the day it was received. In my opinion, if nothing else, there is an outside chance it might show the recipient how anxious we are for the NOA-2.... So why not send reply overnight.

  14. Hi Everyone,

    We need HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP please ......

So we got our RFE in the mail today. We had told them that we met on-line, which we did, and now they want to know the name of the website, because they are saying that it might be an International Marriage Broker. Not a problem, because it is a simple dating website, similar to Match.com, but completely free. My question is don´t most people meet somebody from another country on-line these days, and it just doesn´t seem like anyone else has received this type of RFE.

    Any advice ?????

    Thanks.

  15. What did you get the RFE for Dave?!

Our RFE reply was received by

CSC today. Fingers crossed for a quick NOA2 now!!!?

The RFE was because we only sent one Letter of Intent, hopefully that is the only reason I'm pretty sure it is. But I guess I'll know in about a week because that seems to be how long it takes to get the hard copy in the mail with the specifics.
