Received at VSC: 4/19/2017

Biometrics: 6/7/2017

Case Approved: 4/20/2018

So approved in exactly 12 months and 1 day. Her green card expired 7/12/2017. 

We got the same “case transferred to local office” at the end of February and on April 9th. We moved and filed a change of address on 12/29/2017

My wife's interview was last Thursday, 25th. She got a call from the Lahore office since she's in Lahore

I have a question, how important is for me (petitioner) to be present in the interwiew? Or going to the interwiew with her is a must?

Not necessary at all. It could help your applicant if they're really nervous, your presence could help soothe their nerves. But the only thing that really matters is that all the documentation is complete and they bring everything they need to bring to prove the relationship. Also that they answer the questions and satisfy the interviewer that it's not a sham visa application

My wife got the call today and she picked up her passport!!!!! :D

So Islamabad is definitely issuing the immigrant visas. Tell your family members to keep their phones close to them because they should get the call inshaAllah this week. My status still says "Ready" on CEAC, so ignore that site because they're not updating it

She called the Islamabad consulate 051 wala number, probably from the packet they gave her

This is ridiculous. The Islamabad embassy is incompetent. The Bureau of Consular Affairs is incompetent. It's like they didn't think about the Islamabad embassy when they made that update

Guys! I just checked CEAC ....our status changed to AP on june 28,2015 but officer said approved during interview and didnt give any paper. Do have any idea why they put us on hold. it is soo frustrating. How long does it gonna take? any idea?

That usually happens for everyone I think. They usually put it on AP after the interview when they send the biometric data to the security system, and they change it to Issued a short time after the visa is printed and put on the passport.

Well, my status updated date changed to 28-June-15, and it was at 26-June all day yesterday. So I guess it means that they're working today. It still says Ready, but the interview date was on the 25th.

All embassies are now back online and kicking butt. Will be working over the weekend to clear up the backlog and the facebook page said they anticipate clearing it up by early next week! Let's post when we get our visas to give hope to people that the backlog is really getting cleared quickly.

Hopefully it'll be up today. If they managed to do 115 posts between Wednesday and Thursday, then all of them should definitely be online today. I don't think it really takes them that long to bring a post online, but they're doing it slowly to not overwhelm the db server with a bajillion requests from all 230 posts at once.

Did u notice in other threads that embassy who were online 1 or 2 days before are issuing visa today...such as india embassy...most of the immigrant visas are issuing today....so may be islamabad embassy has been online today but may be able to issue visa later on......

Yeah, then I don't think the Islamabad embassy is one of the 165 online then. Hopefully it will be today iA.

Both immigrant and non-immigrant visas are affected due to this technical problem.....they are talking about non-immigrant visas bcz they are usually more in numbers than immigrant visas...if there is 60 immigrant visas interviews at islamabad embassy there will be 400 non-immigrant interviews also......so thats y they don't talk about immigrant visas ......all the backlog would be clear according to the priorty of visa type....

i hope in sha Allah islamabad embassy would be included in the 165 online embassies.....

You had your interview June 9th, right? Did you check if your status changed? If Islamabad was reconnected, then your visa should probably be issued really soon

My status still says Ready, but it's early morning in Islamabad right now so it'll probably start changing for us once the embassy opens later today! Everyone check your statuses soon and see if Islamabad was reconnected! (I'll scream if it still isn't up)

For those of you who interviewed between June 9th and this week and had their embassies be reconnected this week, did you get your visas issued yet? Wanna get an estimate on how fast they're going through cases now.

Did you guys receive a letter at the consulate after your interview with instructions on paying the green card fee?

Got approved yesterday, but they're taking forever to reconnect the Islamabad embassy even though they reconnected the Karachi consulate already , Wish they would hurry up with getting all the posts online. If it isn't online by the end of this week.....

Wife got approved!!! Alhumdulilah! They told her 2-4 weeks for her visa, but hopefully iA it comes soon with them going through visas quickly at the other embassies. I hope they reconnect Islamabad soon. CAEC still says Ready
