Couple questions for everyone. On case tracker when I look up the 100 cases after hubby's which are IOE a lot of them say card produced. Does that mean they still make your new card when you have a combo interview?

Also I've noticed we've s topped getting notifications from USCIS saying theres been no updates to your case. Neither one of us shut it off. I wonder if that's a sign. N400 filing date was March 15 2018. No updates yet.

I had a combo interview and I had my oath on the 17th, and today I received a notification my green card was on the way.  LOL. I don't know if I should keep (just for the sake of keeping as souvenir)  it or send it back. After all, it wasn't free :)

Awesome. Yeah it doesn't feel fair when you hear approvals left and right of people who applied same time around you and you are still waiting and waiting. Any thing you wanna share about the interview... Did you take additional documents with you like recent utility bills or bank statements?

And by the way - the interview went super smooth. Very professional, but more like a chat. He asked questions and asked to see only a couple of documents.

I think I have exaggerated on the amount of document evidences - but as rule of thumb, I err on the side of caution. I brought a 780-sheet binder with:

For both me and my spouse: copy of drivers license, passports, and my GC. last 4 years of tax transcripts (available online).

    Original wedding certificate coy

Two of our Bank account statements and credit card statements (that probably was about 33% of all my documents)

Most of our asset's documentation (life insurance with spouse as beneficiary,  health insurance with our names, our vehicle titles with both of our names, house deed with both of our names, and a loan with both of our names)

Assorted bills with both our names from the past 4 years, and some bills on my name, and some bills on my spouse name (just to prove same address)

Brought about 20 family-related pictures (2 per sheet of paper, with description and in chronological order)

Travel update (I just reprinted the travel page from the N-400 and updated by hand). And printed every ticket confirmation that expedia and airlines sent to my e-mail.

Brought the originals of every ID available.

Brought all original USCIS letters that was sent to me throughout the 3 years.

Don't freak out: I've seen other people only bringing what the N-400 original checklist requires (available on USCIS website), and they got by just fine. I just gather all this documents because they were readily available on my file cabinet , and for the peace of mind (juuuuuust in case, you never know).

I only have traffic tickets on my record and all fines paid within a week of the ticket.

Rest of the things exactly same as yours.

I filed on September so based on your timeline I hope to get an interview letter in next 3 months if I am that lucky lol.

I guess I'm lucky all around. My interview notice copy was available on MyUscis just a few hours after I got my notification (and usually takes a few days, according to others).

Good luck! Hope you can get your very soon.

What worked for me was: I never based off others timelines. I started getting really furious seeing other people from other offices (mainly Indiana and New Jersey) getting their interview and citizenship just 2, 3 or 4 months after filling N-400. So I decided to let it go, and one day in December I got my Interview notice!

  5. I-751 filled late June 2017

    N-400 filled mid June 2018.

As of yesterday, the expected date of conclusion on MyUscis was 14 months.

I'm guessing I'm lucky, although I'm a pretty vanilla person: no name changes, no previous marriages, no traffic tickets or IRS problems, no criminal record, no children, and sent plenty of evidences on all my applications. I guess that may have facilitated a little?

  6. So... I had an awesome surprise yesterday. I had a combo interview, and oath same day!

I walked in the building as a pending ROC green card holder, and left as US Citizen!!! (Originally I thought my process would be all done towards May, optimistically).

As I understood, yesterday interviews were booked for Wisconsin residents and therefore we were eligible for same day oath! (I thought St Paul office didn't do that).

I'M ALL DONE!!!!!!!!!!! Applied for passport this morning 😎

    Hello All,

Just found this post. I am a N-400 Sept 2018 filer with I-751 still pending since Sept 2017. Got a letter saying the I-751 was sent to NBC. Now I guess waiting for combo interview. Is there anyone else who is also N400 and I-751 combo filer?

I was in the same situation as you.

On December I received 2 notifications: one with my interview being scheduled for 01/17, and one saying my I-751 was transferred to NBC.

Nevertheless I've prepared all documentations with proof of relationship for the past 3 years - it was a huge stack of papers, just in case.

So yesterday the officer explained he would be doing both I-751 and N-400 interviews, and that my case has been assigned to him just a few minutes prior to our interview.

So he approved both, and he sent me on my way!

Good news guys, my interview was scheduled today. Now just waiting to receive my letter with a scheduled interview date.

(I have an adjudicated I-751 case pending since Feb 2017).  :goofy:

I'm in a smiliar case. I have a ROC pending since Jun/2017 and N-400 pending since June/2018, and interview scheduled for Next week!

  9. Alright peeps. I got some news on my case. I truly hope this brings more hope than anger for some of you that are waiting.

Applied for N-400 in June/2018. This week I got an interview letter schedule for January/2019. I will update my timeline soon.

I have a question, though. This week I got a series of updates after a very long time. I have a I-751 pending (since June/2017), and it says it was transferred to another office and it has now jurisdiction over my case. Then, 10 minutes later, I got a e-mail with the interview notice. One day later, the interview date was uploaded. Have anybody here had experience with combo interviews, or having a N-400 with I-751 pending in Minneapolis?

  10. Hello guys,

I had my interview last Monday. But I didn’t have time to post it this week, I am a full time student with a full time job. It don’t have much time to spare anymore!
Our interview was at the Saint Paul office. We arrived 10 minutes prior to the time scheduled, and went through a security line similar to airport. We went to the 3rd floor, and there were several people waiting in there. Regardless, we were called in right on time by an young male officer. He was very professional, with that Minnesota-nice character.
Right away he asked who was the petitioner and who was the sponsor. He then took my husband - my sponsor - in, and spent a good 10 minutes there with the IO. I was waiting in a pre-room, like a small waiting area.
After around 10 minutes, he then dropped my husband, and took me into his office. We had to go through a processing area. There I saw piles and piles of documents and folders. Boy, they seem to be busy there.
He then swore me in, and proceeded to ask a set of questions. Apparently was the same set of questions asked to my husband. He asked questions like our relationship and dates, and a few questions about rooms in our house.
Then he went through my applications, updated with my SSN, ask for addresses, and went through the questions on the form. His then asked if I had anything, or any documentation that would help with the case as evidence of bona fide marriage. Then I gave him around 10 photos, telephone bills from the past 3 months, a copy of a thank you card from the wedding, copy of the e-ticket for our honeymoon, and that was it.
His posture was always professional, and more on the technical side. He was very respectful, did not engage in personal talk, but was courteous and knew what he was doing. If I could rank his service, I would rank a 10 out of 10.
He then told me he would recommend me for approval, and I should see an e-mail later that day, or maybe the next day. He said he had the whole day booked, so he probably would only have time to do that early next morning.
Surely enough, next morning I got a text saying I was approved and a welcome notice was sent.
And friday night I received a text stating my card was mailed! Woo hooo!
Ps.: I didn’t feel like super excited when he approved. I was just relieved it was over! I knew it all along I had everything I need, and I live a very happy married life. Nothing to be worried about: its just a protocol. If you haven’t nothing to hide, then you probably will do fine.
I truly feel like a relief to have this waiting game over.
That’s all! Now I’m waiting for the card to get in the mail!!
  11. i'm so glad I found this thread!

I'm adjusting from F1 visa (married to USC). I have a decent experience in managing roles back in Brazil, and I'm currently finishing my MBA here in US. Finding jobs is tough for me too. I see a lot of positions that would fit my experiences perfectly, but I never get an interview.

I found a job at a supermarket, with a 9/hr pay. It won't get me far, but it will hold the bills back a little.

    Good luck, guys!

  12. Ok. I might have not write much in this thread but I do follow it and check daily for new posts. It is rather annoying to come here and only see bunch of posts like that "." (sic!). How about do not bump up the thread if you don't have anything to write. People who are interested in April 2015, will find it.

Thank you for noticing this too. It was a little disappointing to receive a notification of a new post on this thread and see its a "." ...

I notice this happens more in the mornings, or after an idle period on the site (when there's been a few hours between posts).

  13. I feel you..

I have read a thread, after 18 months of waiting the I-485 was denied due to expired Medicals.. Is that even possible? Couldn't believe it.

Also, I did not apply for AP. I didn't know that it could take 12-18 months to process the green card.

Is it too late to apply for AP now? Or am I just wasting my time and just wait for an update for the AOS application? When would you think April filers will get updates on their I-485 applications?

From what I know, you don't pay any extra to apply AP with the EAD. But since you haven't apply I-765 with I-131, now you can apply with no problems, but you will ay the I-131 fee ($300+).

And interview dates will depend on where the office is located. Mine is St. Paul... the statistics for this office is no good. The earliest I can get an interview is early september. The latest is early november. (I checked on visa journey timelines).

The uscis website estimates is was way off: they say they are processing September/2014.

  14. What is the number and trick you do to call and speak to a Tier 2. I tried finding it in the thread but can't seem to.

Call the USCIS number and press no numbers. After 3 minutes your call will be transferred to a spanish speaking customer service. Just say "english please" and she will start talking english, and you ask to talk to a Tier2 representative. She will ask you a few questions, and after a few minutes you will be talking to a tier2 officer.

  15. Day 87....still nothing in mail or any update online.

Question. One of my best friends is getting married 26th July back in UK. I booked to fly back 15th July, months ago. Now before you say "You should of waited till you had the EAD/AP card before you booked" I knew the risk and prices were always going to get higher. If worst comes to worst I will just change my flight. This might seem a stupid question but Im kind of desperate to get to this wedding, do you need the combo card to fly or could you just get someone to mail to me while I'm there? I'm just spit balling here as I'm kind of losing my mind. I've already had to turn down two jobs because of the length it's taken, as I haven't been able to have a driving licence. I know I still have 7 days till my flight but I'm just thinking worst case scenario. I honestly thought it would of come by now as I have yet to see it taking longer than 90 days for anyone.

    Hey,

I have seen this in another topic. I think it was March Filers? Not sure. Anyways, there is a big risk of doing so. If you fly in, and USCIS requires you to retake your fingerprints (that happens), you won't be here for that. Also, If your name is not printed right, or if there is any mistake on your card, you won't be here to fix it. It's a big, big risk. I wouldn't do it.
