My understanding is if that extension letter expires, we wouldn’t be able to work legally and our stay in the US would no longer be legal. I’m pretty sure (we’ll, I’m being optimistic) that they would send another extension if they think the process would take longer than 18 months.
I believe we will still be in legal stay, we just wouldn’t have a way to prove it. If it looks like your extension letter is going to expire, as I expect mine will before I see a green card, you should go to your local office and get a stamp in your passport. I don’t believe USCIS will issue a second extension and I certainly wouldn’t rely on them to be reviewing files that are close to expiration.

Received NOA this weekend that my petition was moved to Missouri. I filed ROC in March 2018, filed for citizenship in January 2019, had my ROC petition moved to Texas in March 2019 and it was moved to Missouri at the end of June 2019.
My local office is NYC, which is very slow for naturalization and my estimated completion for that is April 2020, so I’m surprised my ROC petition was moved to Missouri so soon. Nervous that means it won’t be touched again until my citizenship application is reviewed. We are moving to Chicago next month, so will have to see if that slows it down even further. Assuming I will need an extension for my 18 month extension at this point. Super frustrated!

Hi all,
I just got got an update, my case has been transferred today - and it was already moved to Texas on March 6th. I did apply for citizenship, but my local office (NYC) is so slow that I don’t expect them to look at my file for another 8-9 months, so not sure where it’s been moved to now.
Will keep you updated. Feeling very frustrated with the process at the moment.

Yes, we were transferred on March 6 to Texas, a year to the date that our application was received.
Same! Really hoping I hear this week too!

Good Luck! There are 2 cases from VSC that have been approved. 1 that was transferred texas and one that wasn't. I hope this means that VSC is gearing up and will catch up to CSC soon. It's been painful watching them blow past us
Do you know where you saw the Texas approval? I didn’t think there had been any yet but I definitely hope I’m wrong!

Will someone with access to the new website be willing to check to see if our status is different than the old site? I can’t access the new website.
Btw, anyone have knowledge about the status of the batches transferred to Texas? EAC181105xxxx numbers. Any approvals on Visa Journey?
Sorry the anxiety is really kicking in.
I’m in that batch and haven’t heard anything - my status on both websites just displays the “Case Was Transferred” update from March 6th. Getting pretty frustrated/anxious too at this point.

I’m in the EAC181105 group that went to Texas and I haven’t heard anything since then. Super frustrating.

@nereides - oh, yours did? This means that Vermont is working on whatever is leftover now.
Also - Texas has now started on the batches they received on 2/13 and 2/14 from Vermont. So your batch shouldn’t be too long.
Yep, I’m hoping Texas can get to it before someone opens my N-400 file and the ROC package gets sent to a third place. Fingers crossed.

Update to Vermont March 2018 filers:
Someone reported in February 2018 thread that she/he has just received an approval. His/her receipt number is EAC181105. That is actually a March 2018 filing date. His/her case has not been transferred. It has been at Vermont the entire time.
I also checked and found that EAC181105 was not part of a batch that got transferred on 3/13 and 3/14. I believe that begins with EAC181115, and even do not all cases in the same receipt number batches are transferred.
Hi GBOS, thanks for the update! Hopefully we will get some Vermont approvals in here soon. Just FYI, my case is an EAC181105 and mine was transferred to Texas on 3/6.
(Mine is not the one from the Feb thread)

Hi all,
Received another notification that my case was transferred so I checked the new website instead of the old and it says that my case was “received at my local office” - still waiting to get the snail mail to verify where it went, but sounds like it might not be Texas?
Yes, but I only filed in January and NYC is taking around a year to complete citizenship applications.

@nereides - It is very likely that your file is going to Lee Summit, MO since you filed for N-400 already. VSC, as far as I am aware, has not transferred more files out after they transferred EAC180875 to EAC180955 out to Texas on February 14.
That’s what I assumed, but usually when I assume something with USCIS I’m wrong!

Just had an update that my case has been transferred to another office - will update when I receive the notice. I am a Vermont filer, EAC181105.

Hey!
I filed at the end of December, my priority date is December 31st... I need to go do my biometrics on January 30th. I live in Queens :).
So logically you should get your biometrics appointment for early-mid February.
Anyone else here who recently filed in NYC?Just filed online today! I live in Manhattan.

Filed N-400 online today! Excited to be finished with immigration, not excited about maybe having two passports the same colour and inevitably confusing them at some point thanks to Brexit!

Received my 18 month extension yesterday - Vermont.

We received our biometrics letter today on 4/27. Dated for 4/20/2018.
Our appointment is scheduled for 5/11/2018 HOWEVER - this is the one week for the whole year we will be out of town.
There is a box at the bottom that says please reschedule my appointment. Is it best to just select reschedule? Do we cancel our trip? I don't want this to cause a major set back in the process
Any recommendations or is there any other way around this? Our office is in Charlotte, NC - thanks!
Try to walk in ahead of your appointment. I did a walk in before my biometrics appointment for AOS because it was Thanksgiving week and we were going out of town.

How do you know that it says received did u get a number to track it ?
No, I signed up for USPS Informed Delivery which emails you photos of mail you have arriving every morning.

Hi everyone,
Just saw on my USPS informed delivery that I have a piece of mail arriving today from USCIS Vermont. The original USCIS account tracker still shows the weird "we cannot display information for your case" and the new one just says they received my filing on March 8th.
Hoping this is the biometrics! Will update you all as soon I know - will be hovering by the mailbox until it arrives...

Was so glad to read this! I just checked and mine is in the system now too. Finally, I can track things (not that they update it much). I wonder what they meant by that I will receive a letter, I am guessing it is the receipt I already received?
Yep, I think it's just the receipt notice. Hopefully biometrics appointment in a month or two...

Hi everyone,
I’ve been checking my case status every few days out of curiosity and until today it was obviously telling me my case number was invalid - but now it says fingerprint fee has been received! No mention of biometrics letter, but I’m expecting that to be a way off yet - good to know it’s in the system though! My package was received by VSC on March 8th.

Joining the group! They received our package in VT on 3/12, Notice date 3/13. For some reason I cannot track in USCIS system though, says my receipt number is invalid.
We won't be able to track online until we receive the biometrics appt notice I think...

Mine is also a second extension, if we are counting the initial 12 month and then the 18 month as two extensions. They didn’t wait for the first 12 month to expire though - I would be surprised if they are competently keeping track of when everyone’s extensions will expire.
