  1. Thanks for the responses. After reading the responses, I will patiently wait to get my card in the mail. My only worry is I have a planned company/family trip next month outside the country. My fear is that I may not get the card before then.

I will wait till the end of the month and I will then proceed to make an Infopass appointment to see if I can get the stamp.

Thank you all for your responses, you're the best. :D(L)

  2. Hi All,(L):D:lol:

I see here that people are interested in interviews at Garden City New York. I was approved today and I could try my best to give some insight.

First thing, there is really no need to arrive early because everyone will be called by the times on their appointment letters. However, I suggest you leave early if you have your interview any time from 9.00 am to 3.00pm so you can avoid traffic. e.g Interview today was at 8.00am and we arrived at 6.45am to stand in line till they let us in at about 7.00am.

Every fifteen minutes people are moved to the second floor, where DOA officers call your names to be interviewed. There are no camera's in these rooms or video recorders that we could see.

It is really the luck of the draw who your officer is, we had a wonderful gentleman today who was quite laid back. He wanted to know how we met, names of our parents, if we met each others parents, date of birth, place of birth, date of marriage, common interests, why I wanted to stay in the U.S, proof of joint ownership such as insurance policies, bank statements, utility bills, mean while, he never looked at any of them.

As long your relationship is genuine, one should not have any problems whatsoever. Be prepared and have all your paperwork ready; including two pictures to leave behind.

As the conclusion he said that it was approved pending background check and we should expect the letter and the card in the mail. Time frame he gave us was (1 month to 3 months), I doubt that it will take that long. So there is no stamp in passport.

I was given my EAD and told destroy it as soon as I get the card. I hope this helps everyone and I wish you all the best.
