how can i check on the status of my case at this point? Ive filled out everything paid my fees and sent all the paper work. I also filled out the ds260 so I'm not sure where I can go to see where my case is at this point in time and whether or not i receive any RFEs any information will be greatly appreciated. I also forgot to mention on July 16 I got an email from the NVC stating that they received my documents and to allow 30 days from processing.
there are two ways to tell... The first is to call the NVC... The other way is to check the AOS/IV fee status... When it's "Case Closed" the fees will change from "paid" to N/A... Best of luck to you..

I called the NVC a week ago to tell them the site was still not working for me. Specifically, the section where I pay my IV application fee. The guy told me to call back in a week if it didn't work. I called back, and this time the woman said the site doesn't work for me because my case is in 'a different department'. I asked her what that meant and she simply said, 'we have lots of different departments. It's in a different one.' She said she would talk to her supervisor about it.
Has anyone had an experience like this, or does anyone know what it means to be 'in a different department'?
Thanks
Because of the website mess... It could be possible that they are using other dept to help catch up. The NVC is about 2 months behind ... Our case was sent to supervisor review instead of the normal route... When we called the NVC to ask why... We were told that everything is fine and not to worry.... So I don't think that you have much to worry about either... They're just playing catch up

When you dial... As soon as you hear a voice hang up and hit redial... Keep doing this until you hear it ring... After the ring the man will start talking... Hit 1,3,1,1... This will get you the operator you need.... Be prepared to hit redial a lot and a lengthy wait listening to the same music repeating for up to 45 mins .... Good luck

Hi guys,
We submitted out AOS and IV packages on April 21 via electronic processing (EP). On May 27th a rep placed our file under supervisor review. July 8th was the 42 days they quote it can take to get a supervisor to look at your case, but our case still hadn't been looked at. On July 10 I was able to get through to a supervisor who told me that because our case is EP, there is no estimated time frame at all, and that we just have to wait. In other words, every phone rep who I'd spoken to lied about the 42 day supervisor review time period because for EP it doesn't count.
Has anyone else encountered this?
We are filing for a CR-1 (spousal) visa.
Today is day 82 without any kind of review. No one has ever looked at our packages. The supervisor I spoke to on Friday the 10th said she was sending an email "to her management" about the case to see if they could "do her a favor" by looking at it, even though there is allegedly no time frame for EP cases. Would you guys advise calling back on Monday to try to talk to another supervisor? I feel like what she told me was just to get me off of their backs.
Knowing that we could have a checklist coming, restarting the wait, has me pretty bummed out. Everyone else who filed around the time we did, for the most part, has their CC and some have even had their interviews by now, but I'm still waiting for word on if our files are correct.
Thanks for any advice in advance. I feel so lost.
We also were put into supervisor review right away... We sent our AOS and IV package on May 29th.. We have petitioned my wife's parents. And just line you... We can't get a straight answer when we dial in... We did get a checklist for writing "none" instead of putting a "0" on the AOS paperwork... We are hoping that will be all... But just like you.. We were told the same 42 days... We'll wait and see.... Good luck

good for you, you called back !
i've tracked this stuff off and on for about 4 years, gave it up about a year ago,
but
something is massively busted at NVC. Do you know the difference between a GENERIC checklist and a SPECIFIC Checklist? If you got a GENERIC checklist, well, no one worries/flips out about those.
On a PC? Gots the 'signatures enabled'? click the link in my sig area, tis the Bible for NVC stuff. Please read it.
We are getting a specific checklist.... My wife forgot to check a box on the AOS.... We looked it over and didn't see any mistake so we await the checklist to find out... As for the State Dept being messed up? My bro-in law works for them... He said that their computer system is all jacked up... Thanks for the tip... I'll have a look at the sigs...

what proof do you have that the civil docs were lost ?
are you certain about it ?
i say, instead, they haven't been added to the casefile yet.
There is no proof other than what the agent told me... I called again this morning and explained the crazy call from last night... The agent this morning said that the documents were logged in a couple of weeks ago... She said not to worry... That the documents are there and not to worry.... Different agent different answer...
-
Ughhh... After the whole ordeal of the website malfunction the NVC has managed to lose all of our civil documents and has given us a check list and now in supervisor review... Of course this will delay us by another 30 to 40 days... How can you lose something that is stapled together and has the name and case number on every document... Gross incompetence is a understatement.... Sheeeeshhhh
-
Did you call the other number? 603-334-0888 x2
I did find that the reps at the other number were a bit more willing to dig and more compassionate
We dialed the 603-334-0700.... I've only had 1 not so nice agent... Once I started joking and being extra nice they tend to give more info as to what's going on... i was told that the site is still down and even though they can see my paperworks, they are still not able to do anything... We just call a couple times a week to see... Nothing else to do but wait it out...

My wife and I called today and the first person was a bit rude... We were told to call this morning and they'd review the DS-261 and open up the IV payment.. She told us that it can take up too 42 days... I informed her that the 42 days were up.. She said nothing could be done... We called again a hour later.. This nice lady informed us that she could see the DS-261 but couldn't do anything about it because the site still has a problem... Still stuck since April!... Typical government... Wait for incompetence
-
Thats good news, that it changed to "paid" after only a few days! think we are going to mail in ours then.
Be careful... I know several people that have waited 3 or 4 weeks before it posted... This isn't "the normal"
-
I was able to pay the AOS and fill out the DS-261 on May 29th... This is the part that might interest everyone.... I called NVC yesterday to ask about delays due to all the cases bunching up... The agent said "we're not behind" when asked how could this be her reply was "we are fixing this is groups"... So it appears that the system is not broken but they are slowing the process and will be allowing people to proceed with the process at their convienance so hang on... Your day is coming
Just a note folks... The day it opened up for us, we sent in all of our documents AOS and IV... I told the agent what I did... She said "very smart". I was also told that it'll take month for the choice of agent to be reviewed... HOWEVER.... She said just call back next week and they'll approve it on the phone and open up the IV bill... I hope this helps
-
This was my biggest fear... We almost did the same as you and mailed the fee but changed our mind when we read that some people are taking up to 1 month for the check to clear... I wish you luck on a speedy processGuess what!!
I can login now for fee payment, After I mailed the fee..
-
We were assigned a case number May 1st and still stuck ? It's so frustrating!
I feel bad for you... I hope it frees up for you soon.. You might want to call and have them put your case on file ... They may take a look at it and fix it... I did... Good luck
-
Yeppers... We got in this morning and paid the AOS and completed DS261.. Oh Happy Day!
-
Well, then there is a hope for us. If few people are reporting that login starts to work for them.
I used priority express mail to send my fee. And it was picked up and signed by the receiver at NVC fee processing center.
Let's see if that opens up my login too in a few days.
I was told that it won't open up from 2 to 3 weeks... I hope it goes quickly for you... I was afraid this was going to happen if I paid through check
-
I have called my congressman... They didn't know that this is going on ( so they say ). But they leave me the impression that something IS going on... They will get back to me in the next day or two and I will post the answer here at VJ...
-
I doubt that anyone has gotten through... And let alone pay their bill... Not to say that anyone is a liar but paying both the AOS & IV bills at the same time? Highly unlikely because the AOS has to be competed first and completed before the IV is billed... I also talked to a agent and was told that no one is getting in....

attention everybody!!~~
i signed in today for the first time it worked !!!! ?? u guys should try! im sooo happy been waiting for 20 days!!

We tried and nothing... Still the same stupid failure... It's been 21 days for us and counting. I hope it works for you... It's encouraging

Good Morning
I`m Beneficary , i`m children under 21 and my father is the petitoner for us ( sister and brother under 21 and my mom ) . my mom petition recieved in NOV.28 and the other cases recieved in DEC.1
Now my case and my sister and brother cases approved in USCIS but my mother case ask for RFE .
and i have some question want answers for it
1- can we ask for join our petitions in NVC to make the interview together !?
2- i will be 21 in SEP.2 2016 .. do i need to notified the NVC to expedite my case or they will finish it before this date !?
3- what`s the processing time in NVC to complete the cases !?
Thanks .
I believe that since it is in the process... turning 21 shouldn't be a problem.. But don't hold me to it.. best if you call NVC for clearification.. Bad news is that the NVC is pretty much shut down for processing right now... The computers have been down now for over 3 weeks and no end in sight so once it hits the NVC you are likely to be there for a while. As for getting it expidited? I highly doubt it! not for the reasons you stated
Best of luck!

It's all about the "what if". You send in your payments by mail... It takes 3 weeks for it to post, the website comes up tomorrow and now you have set yourself back 3 weeks... But on the other hand... If you do send it in and the site is down 3 weeks from now you are ahead of the game... It's a gamble either way....

There is no DS-160 for IR1/CR1 cases. You use the DS-260. Perhaps you mean the DS-261 but you can at least pay the AOS via mail before then.
Just a thought for everyone. Has anyone asked the NVC if you can mail in an old DS-3032 or email them a choice of agent like we used to do?
http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/80023.pdf
http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_CHOICE_OF_AGENT_EMAIL_FORMAT
Because of this issue with the DOS website it may be something to ask them and/or the DOS.
You are correct... I meant DS-260... Fat finger syndrome.... I had asked if there was a way to do the choice of agent.. I was told that I could do it later... And that I could send in the paperwork and fees.. I was told that the payment could post as short as 2 weeks or as long as 1 month... I just do not want to confuse my paperwork and get a delay
-
I wonder if we should wait for it to come back up or go ahead and pay the fees by mail and send the aos and iv packets?
Don't you have to wait for the DS-160 to show up? My wife and I have thought about doing the same thing... But decided to wait... About the time we mail it off the website will be fixed.. That our luck! lol

Hello Jerry and Joy. Were you able to get in yet? Just tried again right now. Still the same on mine.
My wife and I just tried Debi... We're the same as you... No change....
Just curious though... We've called the NVC so many times that we hear that stupid song night and day... Hahaha
How did this happen!??!
in National Visa Center (Dept of State)

I'm not sure if they even know what is going on... I called to make sure that they received all the documents and was told that they lost the whole packet and I needed to resend... I called again the next day and was told not to worry... The paperwork was there.... It's hard and frustrating only because the people that are supposed to know what is going on have no clue! It's now a waiting game...
