  1. Hello! Dallas office here.

I applied Jan 27th 2020. Did my biometrics in February. Got scheduled for the interview on November 16th and attended my interview December 15th, approved on the spot. Now just awaiting for the Oath Ceremony letter, should receive it within 30 days.
Very excited and would love to hear if other Dallas people have received their Oath Ceremony letters, all I know is that the event is going to be in Frisco.

  2. Phew! finally, yesterday I received the notification my card is in production.

    I'm a late March 2017 CSC filer

I moved from California to Texas 2 years ago

They moved my case to local office (Texas)

Then they transferred me to the Nebraska office I think late June 2018

I received my extension letter in August 2018

And card in production October 8th 2018

Hope this helps the people that are still waiting, especially those transferred to Nebraska, I know it took a long time for us. Good luck y'all.

    Yesterday:

EAC #1 said we were transferred to local office on 2/27.

EAC #2 no change from last year

    This afternoon:

EAC #1 says name has been updated on 2/28

EAC #2  says card is being produced on 2/28

    We were VSC.

I won't believe it until we get letter in hand, but I think we were approved.  :)   Will update the spreadsheet as soon as letter in hand.

Why do you have two receipt numbers?

    Congratulations!!

  4. Hello,

I'm applying for naturalization after being married for 4 years and being a green card holder for 3 years.

I'm a little confused about the process, because I read you're supposed to have a certain amount of time in the US.

During 2016 I did a lot of traveling back and forth to my hometown because my mom had major surgery and health complications.

In total I spent around 70 days out of the country back then (like 4 trips), would that set me back a little over 2 months before my window to apply for N-400?

I hope I'm making myself clear, my post is confusing because I'm confused myself lol sorry.

  5. Back when I first applied for Adjustment of Status we had to get a sponsor because my husband was just starting out this job (we both had jobs in Mexico, then we decided to stay in the US with his family and basically started from zero all over again) and he didn't make the cut for the income that was needed.

Now, 4 years later my husband makes more than enough to support both of us and I have my own job.

Basically, what I'm asking is if my sponsor is automatically out of his legal responsibility with me or do I have to file something to let him off the hook?

When we filed for Removal of Conditions there was nothing that mentioned income or financial responsibility and I would like to be responsible for myself, it's a lot of pressure on anyone else.

  6. Ok, so, Monday they first did the E-Verify it went through but somehow I received this Tentative Nonconfirmation email. The next day I went back to the same person that input my information, showed her the email and she said she is not sure what's going on because the person actually in charge of this process is gone. So she tried the E-Verify again but this time with my Green Card and extension letter. This time it showed "verified" again but I now appear in the system, whereas the first time they couldn't find my name. So I think I'm good, she assured me everything is okay and if anything were wrong she would have gotten an email too, but I'm a little uneasy because I asked for a copy to verify this information and she said I couldn't get one. Anyway, I'm so thankful to have this job and I intend to keep it for long, hopefully I won't be having these issues ever again!

  7. I showed them the NOA1 too, I scanned both documents and they sent me a list of other documents I should provide that I don't have because they do not apply to my case. Then finally someone from HR said I could just use my State ID and the extension letter, they tried inputting that information into E-Verify but it kept giving us an error code, both employees weren't sure what to do so they just input my alien number instead of the state id and it finally went through.

Another thing that might be the issue is that I didn't update my social security card after my Adjustment of Status, since the social security number doesn't change, I didn't really know I had to get a new card without the DHS legend.

I tried going to the SSA a few days ago but my Green Card was already expired and the SSA employee said nothing could be done about it until I receive my Green Card in the mail (in 9-12 months!)

So that's where I am now. Uncertainty all over.

  8. I'm in the process of removing the conditions of my marriage based green card. I already filed my I-751 and received my 1 year extension letter in the mail.

I just got a new job, signed the contract on 3/28, now my Green Card expired 4/3. They did not accept my DHS letter as enough proof of my work authorization, they did E-Verify but I think the employee input my information incorrectly because a message error kept popping up, she said it's a new system and they're not even sure how it works... so now I'm stuck with a Tentative Nonconfirmation email that I just received and I don't know what to do.

I tried calling the phone number but they're closed now, so I'll call back tomorrow. And I'll have to ask my employer for a copy. I'm seriously losing my mind, I've been having issue after issue since that Green Card expired. The Social Security Office couldn't help either. I can't take it anymore! Give me advice please. :(

I started a new job like a month ago and just brought the NOA 1 to my employer and they did  not even need it, they use the e-verify tool to check for eligibility to work.

I scanned the letter for them, they did not accept it. They did the E-Verify thing. And now I have this Tentative Nonconfirmation. I swear, I'm so close to losing it... I don't know what to do now. I just got the email, I tried calling the number but they're closed. I'll have to ask my employer tomorrow and call again.

Question has anyone had any issues showing the extension letter to their employer? My GC expires May 5th, and i am thinking about presenting the letter just so they know.

Yes, I just got a new job and they are giving me hell for the expired green card (literally expired just 7 days before) even though I tried to give them the documents a lot earlier to avoid all this.

I also tried going to the Social Security Office to see if I could get a new social security card because unfortunately mine has the legend "valid with DHS authorization only" and they said nothing could be done, my employer has to take my extension letter, that IS my authorization to work. We'll see what happens...

If anyone has any advice please tell me what to do.

Most companies use eVerify, so you won't even need to show that letter.

Well, they just made me scan that letter because I received a rude email from the recruiter this morning "I thought you had everything squared out with your immigration status" seriously? literally a day after my green card expired.

I can't believe it's 9 more months (or God knows how long) of this uncertainty, I don't know how I will cope with this, it's so emotionally draining.

Don't be paranoid, you'll be fine. How often do you have to prove your immigration status? The letter is the way the system works, the only inconvenience is that you might have a little more explaining to do depending on who you encounter because not everyone knows what it is. The only possibly tricky situation is international travel, I think. Given the current climate, you never know and you might want to avoid that if at all possible (though that's not to say you can't do it - people absolutely CAN and DO travel overseas successfully with the letter all the time).

I don't think they're going to give you a passport stamp without a valid reason while you have an extension letter. That's an option if/when a year from now your case is still pending and the one year extension from the letter expires.

I signed a contract for a new job on the 28th but they didn't take any of my documents until I start on April 10th and by then my green card is expired, so I'm not sure what's going to happen. I hope that extension letter is enough.

  13. My green card expires today and now I'm all paranoid  I guess we have to carry around that extension letter all the time. I'm afraid most people don't know what that is and won't accept it as enough proof given the expired GC.

I do have a valid state ID that expires until 2023.

How can I get one of those stamps in your passport? I can't remember the name... Hoping that helps.

  14. I can relate, I have anxiety too and even though I wasn't that nervous for my AOS interview I left as a mess and bawled my eyes out in the car on the way home, it was horrible!
But it turned out okay and I'm sure you'll be okay too, your husband seems like great support, he can help make the interview go smooth. You don't need to lawyer up, I did for my AOS interview and he didn't even had to be there, it was more for moral support because I wasn't that confident in my English skills. Now, the ROC should be easier.

I would try to see the positive side to this, I think we all need to have at least one interview and that's why you got chosen. Embrace this as a faster process than the rest of us, it'll be over before you know it!
Good luck, sending positive vibes for you!

I started a job during ROC, used an unrestricted SSC and DL for I-9 and didn't talk about the letter, expired GC, or anything.

E-Verify will show you as authorized to work, as will any background check.

    Good luck!

    Thank you.

How do I go about getting an unrestricted SSC? Mine says "with authorization of..."

If I apply for a new SSC now will it be unrestricted?

  16. I already sent in my I-751 application and they cashed my check yesterday. The problem is that our mailbox was broken into 3 times since February along with 200 other mailboxes in our apartment complex, I'm thinking they didn't take anything of value because I always get my mail but I'm scared this might happen again and the notion of someone stealing my green card is making me paranoid, so I got a PO Box from the Postal Office and I'm wondering if I can change the address so they can redirect all of my mail to my PO Box or would USCIS need a physical address regardless?
