They are distributing a workload between centers... probably Texas is not as busy as this time.

Yes, I agree it’s real transfers. We all got notifications . With transfer to “ local offices” we didn’t get them. I really think we will get mail notifications as well on a paper.

When did you apply?
-
No updates on case status...
the same message that case was received in local office on April 9
-
I got the same thing, April 9th.

Alright y'all I got an update from my case today too. It says the same with y'alls. "My case was received by my local office" At least we're having progress.
On the other hand, a friend of mine has an expired 2-yr greencard and is even enrolled in a college somewhere in their place and her husband called USCIS yesterday and asked about applying for citizenship. Guess what, the agent said YES she can apply even if she didn't apply for ROC. And this made me think, why in the world are we doing all this waiting and what not and it turned out we can just wait for at least 3yrs and apply for citizenship, not unless the agent doesn't know what she's talking about. So, if that works for her, might as well share the news. Anyway, I will keep you posted with her citizenship journey. But for now, all of us who went thru the proper channel will wait and see when they decide to update our status.
Cheers everyone!
as i understand, you have to apply for ROC or you will be out of status.

I am Vermont filer. They received my case 9/5/17. I got the same message about transfer!

I got the same message. Case transferred to local office. This is when you check the number from noa1.
What does this mean????

I can’t believe it takes so long!!!
longer then get a green card in a first place!
When time comes closer to September we have to find out what to do next if we still have no permanent GC.
-
Yes, right. When my husband travelled to DR he had 2.5 months before his green card expiration date, in the US they asked him about the extension letter too before he left, at the checkout counter.
It still safe to travel as soon as you have this letter.
-
We came back with extension letter. We had no problems at all. Customer service person at check in desk had to ask couple questions to her co worker and looks like he told her we are ok to go.
at the us customs we had no problems at all, immigration officer just took a letter and looked at the names be sure they match. It’s all. Don’t be scary and travel if you need to. You got this extension letter for a reason. Just don’t loose it. 😄

Ok, so my husband’s greeen card expired on nov 30 and we will travel from Dominican Republic on Jan 8 with extension letter and expired green card. Will let u know how it goes, prayers!!!
