  1. Hello everyone!

I submitted the DS260 online. The confirmation page says something about photo requirements and gathering of documents. Can someone explain in detail about what do we do after the DS260 was submitted online? I read something about sending documents to the embassy by mail? What documents? Is there e deadline?

  2. hello everyone!

I am gathering the documents for I751 application.

We have put my in law residence in most of our documents, including my drivers license. We have rented ever since and we always would put my in laws address so we receive important documents in a safe location since we have moved a lot. Now I am dealing with copy of leases that state i have lived in X location which I have, but the Drivers license and car insurance (we are in the same plan with my in laws, meaning "we live with them" according to car insurance) says we live in Y location. What do I do? Also in the car insurance and electricity bill its only my husband, also retirement plans its him only. is this bad?

I found the following information but I do not know if it is a reliable source:

    "

    • Do you have any children?

This includes ALL children: step-children, adopted children, natural children – even if the child is over 21 years old and may be considered to have “aged out” for permanent residence. If a child is adopted, you will need to provide proof including: (1) a certified copy of the adoption decree; (2) the legal custody decree if custody occurred before the adoption; (3) a statement showing dates and places where the child resided with the adoptive parents; (4) proof that the adoption occurred before the child was 16 years"

This is from the instructions for the DV Lottery 2018:

"14. Number of children – List the name, date of birth, gender, city/town of birth, and country of birth for all living unmarried children under 21 years of age, regardless of whether they are living with you or intend to accompany or follow to join you, should you immigrate to the United States. Submit individual photographs of each of your children using the same technical specifications as your own photograph.

    Be sure to include:

     all living natural children;

 all living children legally adopted by you; and,

 all living step-children who are unmarried and under the age of 21 on the date of your electronic entry, even if you are no longer legally married to the child’s parent, and even if the child does not currently reside with you and/or will not immigrate with you.

    UNCLASSIFIED - 5 -

    UNCLASSIFIED

Married children and children who are already aged 21 or older when you submit your entry are not eligible for the DV program. However, the Child Status Protection Act protects children from "aging out" in certain circumstances. If you submit your DV entry before your unmarried child turns 21, and the child turns 21 before visa issuance, it is possible that he or she may be treated as though he or she were under 21 for visa processing purposes.

A child who is already a U.S. citizen or LPR will not require or be issued a Diversity Visa; you will not be penalized for either including or omitting such family members from your entry. "

If I were you I would only enter your sibling that is 19.

The sibling that is 19 has been entered since the beginning of the application.  Now that I am filling out the DS 260, for the principal applicant which is my mother, asks for the name of the spouse (father) then asks how many children from this marriage? I put 3, and then it says the number of the children does not match the number of children in the application.... :@

  4. Just now, thepanda said:

Yes correct. You have to enter all children when you apply no matter if they end up needing the Green Card or not.

it doesnt matter when they state INCLUDE your spouse, along with any child, adopted child or step child under 21 years old (who is not already a US citizen) on the entry.

Please advise. Im panicking over this

  5. Hello, please help!

Ive applied for my parents the dv lottery and they got selected. At the time I applied I read you that I should involve in the application only the children under 21 and so I did. I listed mom dad and sister under 21. Now they got selected and Im filling DS-260 for them. when I put we are 3 children in total from my parents marriage it states it does not match the number of children entered in the application. I live in Usa and came here appx. 3 years ago on a K1 visa. My other sister is over 21 yo and single. Should I add myself and my other single sister over 21 years old on the application? Im very confused.

** I also applied the DV Lottery for my sister over 21 yo, alone, not involving anyone else in the application, but she didnt get selected. Is this wrong?

    Please shed some light.

Thank you in advance and God bless you all in your lifes and in all these petitions.

    Cheers from Bella!

  6. Hi, my parents are coming to usa on a b2 visa and they filled in ds160 that the 'intended length' is 1 month. Now ready to book the tickets they decided to stay around 5 months.

Is that an issue when they will encounter the immigration officer in the port of entry? Please kindly respond. Need to know asap. They got issued the visa for 3 years.

Ps. They dont speak the language and we are concerned how they are going to communicate with the immi officer.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. hi guys, thank you for all your support and help!

    My next question is:

Im in AOS period, but we no longer need the sponsor cuz the husband already works enough to be eligible of the guidelines and he received his first tax returns.

do we still need to submit the sponsor? we used him when we first applied for K1 visa. please let me know what can we do.

    thank you!

  8. I think she already divorced but she cant marry for six months.Well, u are going to apply in us so they dont work with japonese laws. The approval that you get from them its just background check and if both of u are eligible to marry each other by checking if u have all required documents. Next step is japonese embassy. Here is the small problem. One suggestion. Why dont u choose another embassy in another state nearby? You can use this option. But i think that the embassy must not care because she is getting married in usa not japan and she intends to live in usa in the future.

Or if this is a problem for the embassy, i suggest that both take it easy in gathering the documents which are a lot, this might take you a month ( i took it easy too on documents cuz wanted to make sure all is accurate) one month + 1-2months till ur approval + 1-2 months till embassy asks you to schedule an appoinment interview and then u can schedule the appointment whenever u want in the next 1-2 month/s. U have to submit other documents during the process so try and prolong them. Good luck-!

  9. My in-laws are from Albania. They came over last year on IR-5 immigrant visas (Parent US Citizen). My mother in law went to one of the doctors with the paperwork about three weeks before the interview. They scheduled the actual exam two days before the interview, but then the doctor called and rescheduled it for the day before the interview. My father-in-law needed further medical review, but was told to go to the interview. The embassy put his case in Administrative Processing until they got the complete medical paperwork.

So yes you could do the entire process less then three weeks before the interview. I would advise you to call one of the doctors to see if they can get you in before the 13th.

Hello dhlunar, thank you for your reply.

I contacted today the Medicals and a lady told me that I may be impossible for you to pick 13th but you can try 20th and we will see. She told me to come tomorrow if I want for the first appointment but the other appointment the doctor schedules it and registers the name as he pleases.

The available dates are 13th and 20th of this month, I was thinking to put 13 and if I can't make it to change it into 20 but I don't know what to do now. Please let me know what do u think I should do. I'm very nervous. Also do ur in laws think they would negotiate in scheduling the second appointment the next day since I chose the 13th already or they don't care about the interview date?

Thank you very much! My regards

  10. hello guys!

    I thank Allah for everything.

Our case is going smoothly and those who are having difficulties are always in my prayers.

I got the email to schedule the appointment date today. I just paid the visa fee online and it says that the earliest interview appointment in on 13th august, in 3 days.

Can I pick it? Does anyone know how long does it take for the medicals to be complete or its mandatory for us to have a space of three weeks betweek medical and interview date?

in the email it states this: Please show up at the panel physician three weeks prior to your interview date.

please help, I want to be as correct as it gets and not end up delaying cuz of mistakes...

Thank you everyone for everything thru wise answers!

    God bless you all!

  11. Hello! Everything sounds confusing.

K1 and k2? What kind visa have u applied?

K1 VISA I assume. How did u get informed of ur case number? Did u call NVC for it?

Also are ur case numbers the same despite the extension 01 and 02?

Also I suggest you to use the same case number you use in ceac in everything u use it.

    A very strange case.

Maybe NVC would have some answers about this and you might contact them.

The only numbers as for K1 visa needed from NVC are case number and invoice ID.

    Good luck!
