    hey dwheels76,

FYI.......my wife had her interview in Lagos today, she was approved. thanks for all ur help along the way.

  3. Good luck to you too bro. Where did your wife have her medicals? My wife will go to Children's Practice tomorrow because I saw on Q-life's website that it takes 5 business days for the result to be ready after an exam. That's rather too late for us.

yeah, it look like it does take 5 days for the result. my wife had her medical this Tuesday they asked her to come for the result next week Tuesday. your wife should still keep the appt at the embassy even without the medical. they will just tell her to drop off the medical result as soon as she gets it.

  4. Hi all. I have learned over the past 12 months on this journey that perseverance is an important attribute one must have. I never gave up and I have God backing me up. If I told my wife the details of all I have gone through in the hands of USCIS and NVC, she would think I'm a superhero :)

To be honest, I wasn't expecting August interview because I thought August was filled up last month but my wife's interview is now only 7 days away! Now, we'll be on the rush to get her medicals done in the next 2 days so the result can be ready before Thursday.

We are fully aware that this "battle" in not yet over - there is one final hurdle to scale. But we believe God will perfect everything He has started in our lives. Counting down to the day I see my lovely wife again at the airport (don't know which one yet :))

Thank you dwheels and thanks to everyone on this forum. You alll rock!

it look like we have the same interview date, my wife interview is on Thursday 08/20, 6:30 am. she went for her medical on Teusday, they told her to come for the result on Monday. Goodluck

  5. Congrats to all of you who have been scheduled for an interview.

Seems no one has been scheduled for interview in Lagos Nigeria.

SHUT UP. OMG. I was about tho think they were playing keep away with your file. Oh Thank God. This is wonderful. Phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!. Congratulations.

FYI, I got my interview date over the phone today, the interview date was scheduled today for AUG 20th

  6. Ok, im thinking of using the 1-864ez instead of the 1-864 for my affidavit of support. I believe i met the 3 criteria required to use the 1-864ez

Petitioner of the family member sponsored on the form ....... check

using only my earned income which is documented using IRS form W-2 or trascript .....check

the sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating based on the underlying visa petition ? , this is where i need help. Me and my wife have a 2yr old together, he is not part of this petition because he has his US passport already. He's with his mum currently, but once she gets her visa they will be coming to the US together. he is not part of the petition but he will be "migrating" wth my wife so to speak. can anybody help with this, I qualified to use the 1-864ez right ?

  7. Excellent news! I'm glad you made the extra effort to resolve the problem otherwise you might still be waiting while your case collected dust. Your story was so unique I was curious as to why because it didn't make any sense. Good Luck with the rest of your journey.

Thanks a lot,it didn't make any sense to me either, i sent all my supporting doc to uscis when i filed the I-130 so i figured once that was approved, my status was confirmed as well. so, for NVC to turn around and say they were not sure about my status was baffling. Anyways reading experiences on this forum has prepared me for the stress/wait times to be expected, i can't imagine my frustration level now if I didn't run into this forum by default. i kept calling everyday until i got it resolve

  8. Shuttle, did you ever get your case sorted out?

yes I did, i kept calling and getting different responses from the reps until i sternly requested to speak to a supervisor, the supervisor said they have some issues with my status, she said they couldn't ascertain if i am a US citizen or a green card holder, that was why my case was put in pending mode. strange right ? so she made me send a copy of my US passport to them via email. the next day i got the welcome to NVC email, with the AOS invoice, i've paid that so im going to send my docs in this week. thanks very much for your concern and follow up, i appreciate it

  9. so I called NVC this morning, the rep said they weren't sure of i was a green card holder or a US citizen, that was why my case was sitting idle there, i asked what needed to be done, he gave me an email address for a supervisor to attach a copy of my American Passport and the case will move along after the supervisor receives the attachment. i was so angry. first off, i have been calling twice every week for 3 weeks now and none of those rep mentioned this, secondly i sent over copies of my passport and naturalization certificate to the USCIS when i filed the I-130, don't they forward it over to the NVC ?. this is crazy

  10. So you got the "Welcome Email" too? I'd would call as soon as you can on Monday and not stop till you can get someone to look seriously at what is going on with your case. Something is wrong and it needs to be fixed for you.

I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you. I'm frustrated that my DS-261 isn't ready to be reviewed and its only been less than a week. So no reason yet just impatient on my part. But I'll be calling Monday trying. So just be persistent, be polite but persistent.

nope, i didn't get a welcome email, at least not yet, yeah, i will call them again on monday, thanks for your response, i appreciate it

  11. Did you give out your email address for both of you? I received and so did Kevin an email welcoming us and telling us the case number and IIN along with contact info and a document coversheet. Did you receive this email? Something is amiss here. I would call daily not weekly till this gets addressed properly for you.

Also, after you filled out the DS-261 did you print a confirmation receipt?

yes, i printed out a confirmation receipt, and yes i gave them my email and my wife's, as a matter of fact each time i called in they always call out those emails as part of their verification questions they ask me

  12. Shuttle, I have not heard of this either. My AOS fee was available to pay one day after I had the case number. What have the representatives said about the AOS not available to pay? I would think that your DS-261 could be reviewed over the phone by now. Perhaps you can get them to do that so you can pay both.

i keep getting the run around and conflicting information from one rep to the other, one time a rep told me they couldn't see that i completed the choice of agent, another told me he saw that i completed it but can not access it, he told me to keep calling every week, keep in mind im yet to receive any correspondent from NVC, i was able to get my case and invoice number when i called and a friendly rep gave it to me over the phone on the 26th of march actually and i immediately log into ceac, the only thing i was able to do was the choice of agent, whenever i click on pay fee, it takes me to another page and it says fee not invoiced

  13. I have limited info on your case because you don't have a timeline but AOS bill is not dependent on Choice of Agent form A.K.A DS-261, IV bill is. Depending on when you got a case number you should have been able to pay AOS by now and just wait for the review of DS-261 so IV can be invoiced and DS-260. If you had been able to pay the AOS then you could just use that bar coded confirmation to send your both packages.

Not sure why you haven't been able to pay AOS fee.

Ok, here is more information about my case, maybe it can help u understand. my case was sent to the NVC on the 10th of march, around the 20th of march i called and they gave me a case number and an invoice number, i logged into the CEAC and i was able to complete the choice of agent, When i click on the pay AOS fee it keeps saying not invoice yet, it doesn't have an amount to be paid either. my choice of agent say completed but apparently its not been reviewed yet, so that is my situation as of now, maybe u can provide more insight now

  14. did you get a welcome to the nvc letter with a bar code on it? if so, then yes, use this barcoded sheet and send in your packages. She is partially correct. Its the barcoded sheet they need to scan in you packages. without it, you risk of files being misplaced, lost, etc. She is also correct in stating making a cover letter with your case number on it...in fact be sure that your case number is on every document you send it. this way, if misplaced, misfiled, etc, they know where it belongs.

send in your packages if you have that barcoded welcome letter and call nvc first thing on Monday and hope you speak with Gus. he's super helpful!!

    good luck!

The only doc i have with a barcode is the confirmation notice i got when i completed the choice of agent form, will that be fine ?

  15. I have a question, i just spoke to a rep at NVC, I was hoping she would review my Change of Agent form that way the invoice for the AOS can be activated so that i can pay the fee, she said she cant that I should check in every week, when i mentioned that i have all my AOS docs and the civil docs ready but hesitant to send it in because apparently i have to print a cover letter to include in the package, she suggested i send the docs in anyway, she said i can type out a cover page with my case number, beneficiary and applicant name on it and put that on the docs package and send it in so the days can start counting on that one, my concern with that is i've read here where people complain about missing documents they sent in already, which ended up delaying their case,I've also read about people getting conflicting info from different NVC rep as well. what do you guys think about this ?
