  1. I've been reading on this topic in other threads, and it seems some say we must email and request the extension and re-validation and some they'll automatically re-validate.

He emailed the request for the extension and asked about a missing policy record, but their reply addresses only the question about missing one of the documents.

So frustrating. If they would reply to the whole email, they'd get less email with questions!

  2. Hi all- my fiancé works for Emirates, and he's been trying like hell to get the week off that he has his interview scheduled, but no luck. We have emailed the embassy asking if it's possible to extend our approval notice and reschedule for next month but haven't heard back from them. Any advice on whether or not it's likely they'll let us change the date and approve an extension???

  3. First- apologies as I am confident this information is elsewhere on this site a ton of times, but I am hoping someone will see this and able to direct me in the right direction.

My fiancé's interview is scheduled for March 13th at the Abu Dhabi, UAE embassy. He has been trying to get his question answered by calling, but they have direct him to email the question; then, when he emails, he gets an auto-reply that says email volume is very high and to read the FAQs.

    Our question is this:

For his birth certificate and police record from Tunis- should he get the originals sent to him and he translates them to English in Dubai and submit them as they are along with the translation or should he get them legalized and translated in Tunisia and have them stamped by the external minister there?

Thanks everyone!! I am SO GLAD we are close to the end of all this!

  4. I'm sure this question has been answered on here a million times, so sorry for the repeat!

My case status says they received our response to the RFE on 10/19. About how long does it take for an approval (or response otherwise)?

We sent in our original petition last February, so we are SO READY for this to be moving along!

    Thanks!

  5. Thanks everyone! It's the Embassy in Abu Dhabi, so we will look closer at the options there. I guess I can always go to visit him instead of him coming here all the time while we wait (easy for him to hop on a cheap flight here whenever he has a few days off, but harder/ more expensive for me to get there).

I didn't know that his tourist visa will be cancelled once he gets the K1. Does it impact the work visa he has as well (he works for Emirates)?

We already had a bit of trouble at the airport when he was here for a visit a month ago. He said they really didn't seem to believe that he was going to go home. Hopefully the fact that he's gone back every time he's been here for the past two years will help us avoid too much skepticism, but who knows.

    Thanks again for the help!

  6. Hi VJ!

We are anxiously awaiting our NOA2 and trying to plan the next year or so of our lives.

We have a few questions related to the visa:

    1) it is good for 6 months, correct? Is it possible to get an extension of needed?

    2) can the beneficiary still come to the U.S. On his tourist visa after the k-1 is issued?

It's possible he has to stay in Dubai a little longer than we planned, and we don't know how to make sure we aren't jeopardizing our long term together by causing any complications with the visa. That being said, we certainly can't go 6 months without seeing one another either.

    Thanks!

  7. Hi everyone. We are still waiting on our NOA2, but figured I'd check on here if anyone else has gone through the same exact process. Anything we can get ahead on? Should my fiancé plan to have to make a trip to Tunisia for anything prior to his interview (which I think will happen in Abu Dhabi since that is the county of his current residence)? Any suggestions or sharing of your previous experience would be greatly appreciated!

  8. I'm with you guys, both in being extremely frustrated and missing my love as well as in believing that organized complaints are our only chance. Unfortunately, with us all living in different congressional districts and being an extremely small minority of the population, the squeakiest of wheels will still be minuscule compared to other agendas and issues ?

  9. Hey everyone,

I know it seems there was some success with them now routing new cases to CSC, but obviously a bunch of us are still stuck in TSC purgatory for the foreseeable future. That being said, I'm open to coordinating a request for in-person meetings with our Congressmen. I'm not sure if this has been offered or done already, but I figured if I could get anyone to go with me, it may be more impactful.

I live in Houston, Texas Congressional District 2, Congressman Ted Poe.

Anyone else interested in trying to organize by location?

  10. This is so frustrating. No offense meant to those that are getting lucky. If only we had waited to file instead of rush as soon as the proposal happened! Ugh.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but what would happen if we just sent in a new application? My fiancé keeps saying let's try it, but I am telling him there is no way that will make things better.
