  1. Hi,

I just got the pink letter today requesting a joint sponsor status....

I remember sending a copy of the joint sponsor ( which is actually my sis-in-law ) birth certificate that prove she is a US citizen...

So I was wondering if they actually lost that... or they required MORE evidence on status of the USC?

Like should I send the copy of the birth certificate again..... or sumthing else? Which I dont think we have any.... She dont have a passport.

BTW I notice I ahve to send back everything to Missouri...instead of Chicago.... Is this a bad news?

  2. Today I received two appointments for biometrics, case type is I-485 and I-765. Both look exactly the same. The only difference is that one appointment is at 8:00am and the other is at 9 am. They are on the same day. Does anybody know why I have two appointments or is this just a mistake?

I got 2 appointment too today....... BOTH ARE for I-485!! .. I called the USCIS.. and they told me to come to the earliest appointment and show them both letter I received..... thats all they told me to do.... they said any mistake on appointment should be able to be corrected during the earliest appointment...

BTW.. I applied for AOS and AP the same time.

  3. Hi I just got my NOA1 for AOS and AP

Every information is correct accept that they didnt actually wrote down my middle name... cuz my name is a little too long actually..

It only contains my first and last name.... ( actually all of my NOAs from K1 visa last time are missing my middle name but I get thorugh fine .....)

will this be a problem later on? Im pretty concern since this application is to apply for permenant resident... so...maybe they are pretty strict for AOS/AP......?

  4. Hi,

I entered US on 24th May 2006 under k1 visa and did my medical exam on 6th May 2006.

I got married on 2nd June 2006 and currently assembling the AOS package.

As k1 visa holder, I only need the 1-693A ( immunization record ) to be completed right? Do I have to submit the 1-693 full report ( blood test ect ect? ).

Today I went to the doctor office and get my shot.....he filled out the 1-693A and put inside a sealed envelope... and he was suprised that I dont need the 1-693.....

So I am confused now wether or not to submit.

    1-693 + 1-693A

    OR

    1-693A only for AOS package.

    Thank you

  5. I entered US on 24th May 2006 through LAX

I applied SSN on May 30th 2006 ( exactly 7 days after POE ). My name is already in their system ( with spelling mistake....grrrr ) But they said it should be no problem because they will correct it when I filed my AOS. BTW the lady didnt ask me anything, she just took my passport and look at my visa.

    I got married on 2nd June 2006.

And I received my Social Security Card on 3rd June 2006 by mail.

    Hope that help.

  6. My and my fiance( now husband) just got married last week and we are going to file AOS soon. ( Entered US under K1 visa )

    My questions are,

    1. Do we really have to wait 4-6 weeks before mailing our AOS package since we need to get the original certificate from the county which will take 4-6 weeks ? I ( the foreign fiancee ) has already apply for SSN btw.

    2. My husband didnt meet the 125% poverty but during the K1 visa interview he only have to meet the 100% guideline so we dont need the co-sposnsor at that time. As for AOS, We have already found a sponsor who met the 125% proverty ( one of our good friend ) . Should my husband fill in the I-864 too? ( which mean there will be 2 I-864 forms - my hubby and our co-sponsor? )

    3. We are planning for a honeymoon ( 4 nights cruise ). One of the stop will be mexico for few hours I believe. Will I need an AP for that?

    Thanx.

  7. I'd be a bit more cautious than that. Theoretically, your timeline seems fine, and you shouldn't have to worry. But there's no guarantee that you will have your AP in time, and an Infopass appointment will not fix that. Emergency APs are only given when an immediate family member is passing or has passed away. At least I was told that last week when I went to ATL because I am still waiting for my AP (applied for last December, approved end of April and still no AP in sight) and my wedding back at home is coming up in less than 4 weeks...More than likely, you will not have any problems though. This doesn't seem to happen too often.

Yeah... I am worried about that actually.Like under certain conditionI wont be able to get it in time.

Hmmm just hope it will be fine.

    Thank you thou.

  8. I just got back home....so here goes.

    16th May 2006

    The hand in documents.

I was there around 8am... they let me in around 8.30 and I was the first person in line. I turned in all the documents.... I asked the person if i need to submit my co-sponsor affidavit too ( I need a co-sponsor since my fiance's dad just passed away last year so he, being the oldest, is supporting the family ). But he told me to give the form during the interview...if they asked for it.

He then gave back my x-ray film and told me to come back at 1.30pm for the interview.

    The interview

Arrived at 1pm. I got in and was the first in line again. They called up my number and I was pretty nervous. Questions asked.

'What did you fiance do in states?'

'How do you meet you fiance?'

'What did you do over here?'

'When did you graduate and what is your major?' (since Im 24 and just graduated in late 2004)

'How long you do you know your fiance?'

He also looked at the pictures....total 3 trips.. 2 trips to malaysia and my trip to us. Asked me about the places we went too...

Oh yeah he looked at my fiance affidavit form and he didnt say anything about it. So I am not sure what is the real requirement though because obviously my fiance didnt met th 125% poverty since he is claiming his brothers on his tax form. But since he didnt say anything , I just keep my co-sponsor affidavit form ( my future sister in law actually )

He told me everything looks good and to come back on Friday.

    Pick up visa

They gave me my passport and visa and the whole paperwork inside this sealed brown envelope ( to be opened at POE ).

End of ~6 months K1 journey and 7 years separation... =).

    That was my experience.

Thnks to everyone....for all the info.... =).

p/s Will worry bout AOS later.

  9. Looks like we fall into the minority who met gaming. We are both geeks (and proud of it) who met playing Everquest. I was a Half-elf Druid and he was a Dark-elf Necromancer  We now have two systems up and play along side each other in World Of Warcraft. Funny thing is we have our brothers, my son, a few friends of ours and now even his mother playing with us! It has become a great way to spend time together across the miles!

yay for fellow gamers! I met mine over x-box live on Halo 2 in a random matched up game. My fiance wants me to get into playing world of warcraft so bad. is that game really fun?

First met on irc chatroom..back in march 1999.

Now while waiting for this processing thingy, we r hooked up to world of warcraft too! (my fiance introduced me to the game as well when I visited states last year...) The game actually keep my mind off from the stressful moment(visa processing to be exact)

I agree that it is one of the great way(for me)to spend my day with him ( plus ventrilo or google talk while playing the game ) :P

  10. Need advice on the following:

    1. How to translate the birth certificate? in what format?

    2. As for the police report, do you refer to Letter of Good Conduct apply from Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia? For the (2) recent passport size photographs would it be an issue if I have cut the photo align to the FORM alignment?

    3. How long would it took for the medical report? Where do you go?

    Thank you.

    1. I just retype it in ms word and going to the oath later on. Im not so sure also. ( Gotta ask miwa for this )

    2. Yes the police certificate is the letter of good conduct. For the passport photo, well I went to the express passport photo development ( no film ) will get like instant. Im not sure about cutting the photo from regular photo

    3. I think you can refer to this http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...ysia&cty=Lumpur

  11. Hi,

I would like to ask wether is it ok to use the downloaded form of I-134 rather then using the one in packet 3?( I havent recieved packet 3 yet ).

Because right now Im using the downloaded I-134 form for sponsor and co-sponsor (just in case). So once I get packet 3 my usc fiancee can just printed out and mailed me the forms + supporting documents needed.

If no.. do I actually have to send the I-134 forms ( from packet 3) to my usc fiancee, got it signed and he mailed it back to me? This will take more times even if I use express mail.

  12. I´ll triple check each sheet of paper with Luis, I´m scared ´cus he´s absent minded so I told him he´d fill those forms while we talked on MSN. :P

So I can open the form on my comp and go through with it with him. I actually filled his I-129F form for him, since that one we could save before printing, so I filled it and sent him. I checked my stuff so many times already that it will be worn off by the time it gets there. :P It goes in the mail tomorrow, to his house in PR, so from there he puts it together with his stuff. I even typed a checklist for him, and instructions to assemble the package, as I´m the one looking all over the net for tips and things I can´t forget, since I have more time, besides, women are better at these things. :D

lol....! I did the same thing. We were on google talk and I was the one who filled in most of the forms and send them to him to print out....lol......

  13. congrats!! thats great for you cuz now you know they are moving yours along! my petiton was approved last week by nebraska as well, does that mean mine was also sent because i never received an email like yours.

    Diana

yeah mine was approved on 7th March and my us fiancee never recieved any email like that before. but when he called the nvc few days ago, they said NVC just mailed the case to my embassy on the 21th march.

  14. I am from Malaysia too. The thing that took the longest (and delayed the sending back stuffs from Packet 3 to the embassy) was the police certificate. It took slightly more than 2 months for us to get it because of the year end holidays.

Btw, your birth certificate would need to be translated (since it's not in English). What I did was to translate it myself and got some commissioner of oaths (paid RM4 per certified copy) to certify it as a true translation. The person at the embassy (i emailed them) said that this was ok.

My interview will be in a week plus time. Wish me luck! Good luck on your visa journey too

Thank you so much...this might help me with the rest o the journey.

yeah I already got the police certificate. Took me 2 and half months thou, lucky that the petition was approved a week after I received my police certificate.
