  1. Same here! We sent AOS packet in March, was finally able to fill out DS260 on 5 Jul. We had been calling NVC many times to make sure nothing was missing. Yet, only until recently a CSR told us that my birth certificate was missing (which no one had told us before). Our case is now pending for a supervisor review which I truly doubt. I really don't know what to do now :(

Am in the same situation. I submitted our financial and civil documents on April 14. Received checklist which stated that we only needed to pay IV fee, which was subsequently paid shortly thereafter. I contacted NVC on July 29 to find out about status. They said that our marriage certificate, police report, and my wife's birth certificate (all with translations) was not received. I contacted again to request supervisor review. Hopefully they find our documents. I know with certainty that all was included in my submission. Sent email to request supervisor review.

  2. Hi everyone,
I finally submitted DS 260 on 5 Jul after being stuck at NVC for 5 months,
got the confirmation email saying DS 260 is received in late Jul.

My husband was told it was 30 calendar days for reviewing the form,
so he called NVC yesterday as it's almost time and we have heard nothing yet.

The girl said they have not reviewed DS 260 yet,
and she also claimed that my birth certificate is not there in the AOS (and IV) packet.
We are very certain it's in the packet,
I think the people are just too stupid to recognize it actually is a birth certificate since it is all written in Chinese
(I was born in mainland China).

Basically she said 'the box (regarding the birth certificate on their checklist) is not ticked/checked'
and she has no access to looking at our packet there,
so the case shall be pass to a supervisor review.

I have seen some people sharing a similar story
(some documents, usually birth certificate reported missing)
and some called NVC again and were told the documents were actually safe/nothing's missing
or the case was never passed to any supervisors.

    Question 1:
Should I call NVC again and again hoping to find out the birth certificate is found or resubmit it now (the girl didn't ask us to resubmit it though)?

    Question 2:
I have seen a post with a lot of people giving credits to a nice and efficient NVC rep.
and I hope someone can kindly tell me what her name is.
I would very much love to have my husband talking to her.

Your advise will be much appreciated :)

This whole thing is a complete nightmare,
it's been already one year since USCIS received our application.
I know there are people who actually have waited longer than ours,
and people who got very lucky.
    To me, it's like a nightmare that never ends :( :( :(

  3. Same here, finally filled out DS260 on 5 Jul. Do you call NVC regularly to check and make sure everything goes well? I have received a checklist regarding AOS package already (before being able to access DS260), I really do not wanna go through that or spend another month on it.

The ds260 missing . I didn't have access to the ds260 to complete it because of the nvc website issue , the iv fee took two months to show as " Paid " . Therefor my scan date was April 22, . They reviewed my documents on june 25, everything is ok. They just needed my ds260 to complete my case , then finaly completed it on july 6, now i'm waiting for case complete

Lucky you :( we got a similar timeline but we had technical problems since Feb. When did you (your wife) fill out DS260 then?

I did my wife visa the same way. I sent the aos and iv packets in before i fill out the ds-260 and pay the iv fee

30 days is just estimate time they give you mine took 39 days

i did not know they review the ds-260

I know they review the ds-261 and that is review seperate from reviewing of documents

  4. Oh poor babe :(

this is absolutely insane and unbelievable!

I think you should call and ask again and see what their answers are.

And if they still say your doc. is missing, you should really mail it (speedpost) even its their fault.

    what a nightmare...

But hang in there, it shall end soon!

    Long story short

    - After I paid AOS fee I mailed both AOS/IV docs on May 21

    - June 18 I got a checklist for DS260 (the website was having technicle issues thats why I couldn't submit it)

    - Finally able to submit DS260 on July 2

    - After two weeks I'v been calling NVC for any update almost everyday on CC, all they say is to wait

AND JUST TODAY when I called they said they're missing a copy of my dad's passport! meanwhile I did send it! and I was told to send it again (just that one bio page)

How come I only got a checklist for DS260 back then.. this whole thing doesnt make any sense.

Cant believe this is happening to me .. I'm so fade up with NVC

Has any one experienced the same?

  5. it's down in Feb, we didn't know it was their problems and were wondering what went wrong. I was finally able to fill out DS260 on 5Jul, but I think yours is taking way too long. 30 days for case review that's what they kept telling us, maybe you should get your senators and congressmen involved.

    Hello.

I was just wondering if anybody else was told that the System for DS-260's was down for 2 month's and for this reason they can't give any time frames nor are they allowed to speak to Supervisors about the case? I know for me it has already been 12 weeks since I completed our DS-260 online and 9 months since we started the whole process.

  6. hey guys you should go check CEAC again,
i think the system is working now and I've just done filling out DS-260 FINALLY!

in fact, we hv been stuck there since FEB, it's not MAY
i believe i was the very first people who encountered the 'technical problems'
and rep from NVC didn't even know what was going on and passed our case to a supervisor who of cuz provided no help on this.

anyway, good luck everyone and hope things will get better and better :)

  7. I paid iv fee by mailed but it wouldnt update as paid. I decided to pay only again on Monday (june 29) and was able to fill out DS260 on wednesday but just finished and submitted on thursday (july 2) around 4pm.

So you had paid by mail, but not updated as PAID,

And then you paid again online by clicking PAY NOW?

  8. I just called NVC and the message they have about being off-line has to do with the DS-261, DS-260 and IV fees technical problems. The issue that was resolved last week was with the technical difficulties relating to homeland security checks/visa printing at the various Posts worldwide.

The problem at CEAC with DS-261, DS-260 and IV fees was never resolved but it seems they are finally going to work on it this weekend.

    Everyone should take heart!

    Finally!

    Thank you for the information!

Btw, why did you say the problem at CEAC is finally being fixed this weekend? Did NVC tell you on the phone?

We've been stuck at DS-260 for over two months... :( Really depressing...

  9. So today the AOS Fee was finally available online for us. Up until now it was showing as 'not invoiced'

Funny thing is, we sent the payment on 05/20, it was received by NVC 05/21

So what the lady told me is to hold, and let is sit another week or so

That a lot of payments were received in that period and that they have been having problems posting them

She added us to the 'list' and said that the payment was most likely received but is being entered manually and that it would showed up

    Let's hope so

mine is just same old same,

has been showing as PAY NOW and NOT INVOICED for months indeed,

but lets hope the system is really being fixed and everything will be okay soon,

this has taken way too long.

  10. my husband just called NVC,
they told him that they had just put our case on a list (another list!) that will be sent to the programmers who will fix the 'technical problems' for us,
and that we should be able to fill in DS-260 in the next 10 business days,
if not, then we are advised to call NVC again.

SO, if anyone is in the same boat, then i think you really should give them a call or your wont be put onto the list.

    Hope this helps :)

P.S. seems like they hv a special team working on this issue specifically, so my husband said you hv to call a totally different number 603-334-0888, choose English if applicable, then option 2.

  11. Yes, to choose agent. :)

congrats! at least you are moving forward!

Are you unable to access Form DS-260 to complete your Immigrant Visa Application?

    • CEAC software programmers are working to give access to all users who have previously tried to log into the system but received an error message. Due to the volume of users who need access, this may take up to 10 days. We suggest that you wait 10 days and then try to complete the DS-260 online. Please visit this page often for instructions on any actions that may be required on your part and for other updates.
    • If after 10 days you are still unable to complete a DS-260 form online, please call the NVC at 603-334-0888 and press option “2.” Customer service representatives will provide your information to the CEAC software programmers for case-specific assistance.

    I saw this on http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/general/assistance-for-applicants-experiencing-technical-difficulties.html

it's been 10 business days since we got the email from NVC confirming they got our IV fee,

my husband will surely call them soon and see what sorts of assistance they can offer this time :)

    fingers crossing!!! :star:

  12. So here's the current situation of my case:

Mailed the cashier check and NVC has got it = PAID IV FEE
Electronic Application Centre is still not working, so no update of status regarding IV fee yet.

Not able to fill out DS-260 yet,
will go to the local embassy on Thursday as they hv a counter available for immigrant visa application & information on Thursdays.
Will see if they hv alternate ways for filling in DS-260.

  13. We paid AOS fee and submitted AOS packet long time ago.

    Have been checking https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx
and still no signs of IV invoice bill being issued,
    so we are basically stuck.

My husband just called the NVC (again) today,
and finally the lady admitted that there are some technical problems with the online system
and that NO ONE knows when it will be fixed.

Now we have to mail the cashier check by post,
(which could have been done ages ago if we had known)
and she said it would take up to 15 days to have it registered,
AND that you could NOT even know if it's registered online,
so you would have to CALL NVC everyday just to check
(and it may take up to an hour to reach a human being each time)

Now I wonder if there's anybody here is actually on the same boat/ has gone through this?
Much appreciated if anyone can share the experiences and/or provide some advice here (F)
