Sooooo according the DHS website they approved my case :D:D

My status changed to: " We are producing your card and will mail it to you"

    Case history:

    March 20th 2017 - filed my case

    March 2 2018 - RFE

March 26 2018 - They received my RFE

April 7 2018 - we are producing your card and will mail it to you

Congrats! They updated my status on April 3rd but approval date was Mar 30th. Also don't be surprised if you get your GC before the approval notice like I did lol!

Woke up this morning to another update!

Case approved and we have mailed the green card to you via USPS as of April 3, 2018!!!

    RFE - 3/14/18

    RFE responded - 3/16/18

RFE received by VSC - 3/22/18

    Case approved - 4/3/18

I am pleasantly surprised at such a fast turn around. Completely unexpected!

PS: my RFE was due to lack of bank statements (I only sent 1 year), IRS tax transcripts, etc. So I responded with several months of bank statements, 2 additional years' worth of tax returns (2016 & 2017), joint health insurance evidence (1095-C schedules), life insurance & 401k beneficiary information, 1099 forms for brokerage account and a note stating why we dont have a joint mortgage/lease/deed (house was purchased before our marriage)

    Yet another update :D

Received the 10yr GC in the mail today!!

    To recap:

    RFE: 3/14

    Responded: 3/16

    RFE received: 3/22

    Approved: 4/3

    GC received in mail: 4/5

Time from RFE to GC in hand: 23 days

    Marriage certificate

    two years of tax transcript

    driver license with same address

joint bank statement for one month

    photos

    car insurance with both names

credit card account statement as authorized user

    thats what I remember now

This is similar to my case. I only provided 1 month's bank statement. So as a response to the RFE, I sent several additional months of statements, 2 more years of tax transcript (both federal and state), driver's license copy, health/life/401k beneficiary details and they approved my case (within 2 weeks of receiving my response)

  5. Wow I hope the latest DHS update is accurate.

    March 30, 2018

We are producing your card and will mail it to you

You do not need to do anything at this time

We will mail your Green Card, employment authorization document (EAD), or combo card (EAD and advance parole) to the address you gave us. It may take up to 120 days to deliver your new card.

If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.

I replied to an RFE earlier in the month. Last update was on Mar 22nd that they received my response to the RFE and now it says they are producing my card as of Mar 30th!

Angelx do you see something similar? I know you sent your RFE response a couple of days after me.

Yes, but we were apparently in line for an interview and we changed our address (and jurisdiction) during that time. The hard part was that after we sent our RFE package in Dec 2016, we didn't hear anything or get an interview letter until Sept 2017. So lots of waiting with an expired GC during that time.

I notice you are CSC while I am VSC which is faster so I wonder if I might not have to wait that long? *fingers crossed*

Did they acknowledge when they received your RFE response? The fact that they acknowledged my response within a week is making me more hopeful that I will receive an update sooner...

Total time from RFE to 10yr GC: 14 months?

    It took 14months?!?!

How long did it take them to schedule an interview after you responded to the RFE? I just sent my RFE response and within a week they sent an update saying they received our response and told us to sit and wait for a response.

I am shocked that it would take another year to get approved?!?!? I was planning on submitting my N-400 in a couple of months but now I am not sure if that is a good idea.

  8. Interesting observation. I registered on both the DHS site and the USICS site. I recently replied to an RFE I received a couple of weeks ago. The DHS site acknowledged that they received my response to the RFE while USICS has status hasn't changed.

So to everyone that haven't tried DHS, I would suggest you sign up since they provide more accurate and frequent updates than USICS.

Good luck! We got an RFE too 1-2 weeks ago. We don't have any utility bills/mortgages either.  What about family affidavits, car insurance?  We are doing those + car insurance statement that says I'm on there too and some other things. Tax returns from 2014 till 2017(somehow we forgot it :o.) Copy of driver licenses (same address).

I couldn't get utility bills or mortgage and car insurance is also a no go (we are all under one big family plan with my parents)

I ended up sending 2 more years of tax returns (2016 IRS transcript and 2017 copy of the return that was filed) plus state returns for both years. I also added several months of bank statements, copies of debit cards and driver's licenses, copies of 1095C forms form 2016 and 2017, life/ADD insurance beneficiary as my wife, brokerage account 1099 forms 2016 & 2017. Hope that suffices.

Anyone know what happens if they still find our evidence insufficient? Do we get called for an interview or is there a possibility of getting directly rejected?

  10. Hi all,

We received an RFE [NOA 3/27/17] because I (arrogantly) only submitted 1 month's bank statement and 1 year's IRS transcript  (2015)

Would you say the following additional information would satisfy as financial co-mingling?

1095C forms - to show shared healthcare coverage for FY 2016 and 2017

    Add'l year of IRS transcript (2016) - haven't filed 2017 yet

Add'l bank statements (one every 3 months)

Add'l 401k statements that show beneficiary name at the bottom

Unfortunately, I don't have my wife's name on the house deed/mortgages (was purchased before we got married) nor any utility bills. To further complicate things the house was purchased by me with my parents (all 3 names are on the deed and mortgage) before I got married.  Can I explain this in a letter and attach it or should I get my wife's name added before resubmitting the evidence?

Furthermore; we have no children, no joint debt (she has student loans), will, trust, etc.

  11. For nyala and bella - when I got my checklist I didn't wait for the mail. I sent in the corrections using the original cover sheet and bar code page from my original submission and I still got a cc within 25 days. The 'you must include this cover page' warning isn't a requirement. The documents still get reviewed on a first come first serve basis. If I were you, I would send the correction ASAP. No point waiting for the actual mail.

  12. Hey ariani I cannot access google doc from work so don't know if you updated my scan date but I got a confirmation that they received my doc on 3/23. I might be the first person on the list with a scan date of the corrected documents occuring before the checklist date 3/25 lol

Now the wait starts all over again for a cc! Hope I get get it in a month since NVC has picked up the pace.
