  1. Hi, I checked the old site today and found out my status was updated to "New Card Is Being Produced" yesterday. Mine was stuck at "fingerprint review was completed" for about 65 days. So ppl hang in there, we're not forgotten! Hope to see many more good news from you as well.

P.S. New site remained the same "case was received" but I guess that didn't matter anymore. Will update again when I have the new card in hand.

  2. Quick update: 7/5- Went for the biometrics appointment, arrived at 12 pm and walked out of there around 12:15 pm. (not bad lol)
Old USCIS site status went from "couldn't provide info" to "fingerprint review was completed."

New USCIS site status hasn't changed. But I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.. fingers crossed for everyone too!

I am in the same boat. Our dates are almost identical with WAC1819251... haven't heard anything either 😕

I added another case to my tracker that is only 2 numbers off to get some kind of idea where I might be at. 27 days ago it said their fingerprint review was complete.

Doesn't recognize my number though and online it also just says "case received"

Yeah looks like I'm in the same boat with you guys. But I wouldn't worry too much about it.. I've been reading other threads too, and apparently there were people like us and they got theirs cases approved. So as far as I'm concerned, no news is kinda like good news at this point. At least I did receive the biomatrics waiver letter and that means I'm in their system! lol

  4. I just went to the mailbox to collect junk mails, however, to my surprise, I received the biometrics notice from USCIS and they'll reuse it. Notice date is 2/22/2019. One thing I feel like to share is that even tho I got the notice, when I came back and checked online status on both USCIS sites, it didn't change at all. Old one is still "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case" while the new one is "Case Was Received" from last June.

But OMG finally got some updates since the extension letter!!!

Will those of us who already received NOA  with 1 year extension receive another one with 18 month extenstion ?

Personally I believe so, as USCIS announce on their website "Additionally, we will issue new Form I-797 receipt notices to eligible conditional permanent residents whose Form I-751 or I-829 was still pending as of June 11, 2018." But no one can say for sure at the moment. Hopefully we will see those who with 1 year extension letters updating exciting news soon.

As long as you file within the 90 days window, you should be good.

In my opinion, it is better if you file after you move so you don't have to deal with the hassles of address change as sometimes the office does not receive the request. With that being said, many have successfully been able to change their addresses.

VeraBradley, thank you so much! I think you're right, dealing with the hassles of address change is the last thing I want!

    I second this...

Its the problem we have been having with my parents AOS's.. did a address change a couple of months ago and things are still being sent to the old address.. I would wait till after the move is made

I'm very sorry to hear about your parents AOS.. hope this will be sorted out soon!!! So, I think I will wait till we move.. thank you. :)

  8. Hi there! I know it is always prudent to file fairly early in the window for I-751, but what if you'll move soon? My window will open around mid March, but my husband and I will have to move in the middle/end of April to somewhere much closer to where he works.

I really don't know which way is better: a) file early around mid March as soon as my window opens and then notify USCIS change of address after we move (we might not receive important notices though..) or b) wait till we move and file in late April or early May, it is still within the 90-day window after all..

I guess I just need some advice.. because this is driving me crazy..  :(

    Thanks!!

  9. My experience:

My husband arrived the week of Oct 1 and we married the same week. He was a non-resident alien by IRS definition. (I read IRS Publication 519 about three times.)

He had no US employment or EAD being a K1 in that tax year. He had no tax obligation to file.

I chose to file jointly with him and wrote the election statement we signed to be treated as a resident alien.

We claimed his UK earnings from Jan - Sept 1 (quitting date) on the joint return.

I got a $2000 refund, the first refund EVER in decades of filing. I was chuffed and found one more reason to love him.

I used TurboTax. I created another return to check it out with just me Married Filing Separately. I owed a little.

Everybody should try it both ways because each taxpayer has their own situation.

Remember taxes and immigration are sorta two different things. For taxes you see how the IRS defines your status --Resident or Non-Resident alien.

Hi Nich-Nick, I've seen some of your replies and it's really helpful!

However I still have a question.. My husband uses TurboTax too, since I want to be treated as a resident alien and file jointly with him, I know we need to write the election statement. But where should we file that statement to? Can we file that statement through TurboTax??

  10. I sent my RFE (for initial evidence) on 22nd December and it was confirmed delivered and signed for on 26th December by USPS. My case status still remains the same as it did on November 27th, stating that they'd mailed the RFE and that they would begin working on my case again when they received the requested evidence. I've tried submitting a case inquiry, which comes back as "Case is within normal processing times". I also called USCIS twice, and was told that I have to allow up to 60 days before any further action can be taken.

I am just concerned that my RFE has got lost or mislaid, and worry that I'll get to 60 days after no action/ updates, only to get told that I need to re-submit the RFE or something.Very frustrating not knowing what, if anything, is actually going on with my case

Trust me, I know how you feel.. but I think you've done everything you could at this point, and where did you send your RFE package to? Lee's summit?

As long as you have the confirmation by USPS, I think you should be fine because it's the evidence showing that you did response to their request within the time frame they gave you. Maybe give them a call after 60 days again? I know waiting in darkness really sucks.. Fingers crossed for you and hope to hear your good news soon!!
