  1. Before the interview we need to have a No Criminal Record Police Certificate.

I have found information about going to a DAS office, but the website www.DAS.gov.co doesn't exist, because according to information I found online, the DAS organization in Colombia was disintegrated back in 2011.

Can anyone give me the step by step process of how to get this done? I heard the request for the form can be done from a website.

  2. I have the support of my father with the affidavit, he has taken responsibility for my fiancee because currently I am living with her outside of the States. My dad has already gathered all the documents and filled out the forms for his affidavit of support and I obviously plan to get a job as soon as I enter the US with her but for right now I am unemployed, living from money I had saved up from my last full time job....

I need help with how to fill out the #7 part of the i-134 form the Affidavit of support.

should there be "none", "unemployed" "n/a"... and what should I have in each blank? I just don't want to have any mistakes at all because we will have our interview soon and I want things to go as smoothly as possible with no errors.

If you have experienced this I could really use your help.

    Thank you :)

  3. sometimes coming to this site pisses me off. Not by the people who post here but how we are treated or our cases are treated. The new applications being sent to CSC is such BS. I am outraged. They will in turn have a shorter approval time and those who are at TSC are stuck. I image that people who filed now in April and will file in May- they will end up getting approved before my case.

I almost want to kick myself for not waiting to file.

I sometimes wonder who makes these decisions and how they come up with - oh hey let's send new applications to CSC to get processed faster than those who have already been waiting months at TSC and will continue to wait. Who cares about them..

ughhh sorry had to vent. Makes me SICK

It's all good, I understand your anger. I see this as such a slap in the face! My fiancee and I have been waiting since September of last year and it looks like people that file now will be finished before us. I guess that's life though, we just have to sit back and take it.

I was so excited when they said they would balance the workload between the Service Centers but this was completely unexpected. I just don't understand their way of thinking at all.

Just gonna stay positive though and hope that one of these days we get some kind of notice!

  4. Folks who have been through TSC have been dealing with this issue for many many months, over a year for some. The majority of filers since February 2014 waited 6-8 months for their NOA2.. it's pretty much a given now. Most of us have complained over and over that there is a huge discrepancy between service centers. CSC last summer was still at a few months for approval but as fall approached they started closing the gap between NOA1 and NOA2 to what you see now - 30 days or less in many cases.

Official complaints have been opened to senators, Omsbudsman complaints were filed, Twitter and email campaigns were started, many of this stemming back to last summer. They did a small transfer of applications back in August - new applications still went to their appropriate service center and were not auto-transferred, but TSC transferred a large batch of April and May filers to CSC. Then the backlog started again. I'd like to say fantastic that this news has come about where USCIS will begin workload balancing and transfer applications, but I am a pessimist at heart. Unfortunately they've done this before and it didn't help them much.

The dismal part of this is that there really is nothing you can do. Short of following all the legal channels - Omsbudsman, Senator complaint, phone calls and letter campaigns - the reality is that you will have to sit tight until they decide to adjudicate your petition. I've been there. It's incredibly frustrating and as the days and months roll on you get desperate and depressed over it.

Someone on here has a fantastic quote in their signature which says "This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this." from the movie 300. It sums up this entire process perfectly. To be honest it would be faster to relocate to a state which is under CSC jurisdiction, but I would never advocate that unless it was a move you were doing for other reasons. Hopefully this is an ongoing balance that USCIS is doing and it will sort out the widening approval gap for not just I-129F, but I-130 who have a longer wait than K-1.. among a few other petitions.

    Good luck!

Good answer. I have been stressing over this whole process and to be completely honest, I have no idea why! Nothing that we do will change anything. My fiancée and I have been waiting already for over 6 months... Just sit back and enjoy the incredibly long ride.

  5. It's here.

    http://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/workload-transfer-within-service-center-operations

(I just googled USCIS workload balance and it was the first link)

haha thanks! I guess I wasn't wording it right! Appreciate that because I'm just getting restless and I thought they might of just scratched the whole idea of a workload balance.

Nothing has happened yet. It does look like new petitions that would have gone to TSC are being sent to CSC . That does nothing to help us, of course.

    Check out this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/542366-i-129f-transfer-thread-if-you-have-been-recently-transferred-please-post-here/

Yeah I'm just worried that we will just sit here waiting longer and longer while new filers get all the benefits. I guess this is the perfect way for the US to see which filers are real and which aren't... I'm just happy that I have been able to be with my fiancee through this whole process, thank god for being a dual citizen!!

    thanks for your response :)

  6. I was so excited when I heard the news about the balance of workload the USCIS announced March 27, 2015. I thought things would move a little quicker now for the Texas Service Center but it doesn't seem like anything has changed. Everything is still as slow as ever!

I also went to the USCIS website and I can't find the announcement article.

Can't find anything on the internet either... Does anyone have any information about this? Did they just not go through with it?

I filed my I-129f for a K1 visa back on September 30, 2014 and it's been more than 6 months without hearing a single thing...

  7. September 30, 2014 TSC filer... nope nothing yet.

The other day I saw the current processing time at August 25, 2014, I just checked today and it went back to August 20, 2014. They have been stuck between August 20-25 for over a week now it seems. I don't know what they are doing over there. It's frustrating waiting through this but I'm trying to stay positive!!

    Good luck.

  8. Hi. My friend from Kyrgyzstan got her fiancee visa in abu dhabi, uae. When she and her fiance applied i 129 they were both legally working in uae, and they put abu dhabi on the i129 form. There was no problem to get the visa.

Thank you, this helped a lot!

  9. Yeah we plan to get a visa that will make her a permanent companion of mine here in Colombia. This will allow her to be in the country for 3 years total.

I also spoke with a representative at the National Visa Center (NVC) and he told me that we just need to get permission from the US Embassy in Bogota to have the interview there.

    Thanks for your guys responses.

I'm hoping that someone will help us that has had a similar experience like this because we keep getting so much different information from all angles!!

  10. I'm from Russia, my fiance is Colombian/American.

We currently live in Colombia together while we wait for our K1 Visa interview.

On the I-129f form Part 2. it asks

Your fiancee(e) will apply for a visa abroad at the American embassy or consulate at:

    36.a. City or Town

    36.b. Country

    We entered Bogota, Colombia

We have lived here in Colombia for about 6 months since October 2014.

My question: Will we be able to have our interview here in Colombia since I am not a permanent resident of Colombia or would I have to go back to Russia for the Interview?

Has anyone had an experience like this before?

I really need a solid answer because we can't afford to have any unexpected surprises come our interview date! Thanks :)

    Kristina & Nick

  11. I'm a dual citizen Colombian/American born in the US. My fiancee is Russian.
We currently live in Colombia together while we wait for our K1 Visa interview which will be held here in Bogota.

We have lived here for about 6 months since October 2014, but she can only stay in the country a total of 180 days per year with her entry stamps.

So we need more time to be in the country and we plan to get a TP 10 Visa in Colombia.

(TP 10: For the foreigner who wishes to enter Colombian territory as spouse or PERMANENT COMPANION of a Colombian national)

This involves having to do a CONCILIATORY ACT OR PUBLIC STATEMENT THAT CREDITS THE DE FACTO MARITAL UNION in Colombia.

My question: Is it ok to have this done, will it affect our K1 Visa for the US?
After waiting about a full 6 months I can't afford to have anything go wrong... Please help :)
