My case updated today to new card being produced after no change since being received at local office last April.

I did call USCIS on Friday to schedule an infopass appointment, since my 12 month extension was nearing expiration (never received the 18 month) and that appointment is today at noon.  I’m not sure if that caused some movement or not.

I did not file N-400 and the first digits of my case are EAC18083XXXXX.

I called USCIS earlier today because I was losing my patience and they told me I had to wait until 90 days had passed (which would be this upcoming Sunday). I logged on just now to USCIS and my EAD is in production on Feb 6th!! Yay! My AP says an RFE was mailed on Feb. 6th now so I wonder what that's about...

Hey! Actually I believe you can file at the closest CBP port, and not at the Canada/US border. I think the closest would be Philly (definitely call first). Direct from their website it states "If you are not prepared, the officer may advise you to file the entry at a CBP port near your residence - however, in many cases the closest port could be 1-3 hours from your home, so it is in your best interest to be prepared to file the entry when you initially bring the vehicle into the U.S."
Here's the Philadelphia port info - call and ask them as it looks like they have a bunch of different service offices dotted around and I'm not sure which one you would go to.. http://www.cbp.gov/contact/ports/philadelphia
The ones in NJ seem to be further North like Morristown and Newark - but still beats driving back to the border.

She can still attend the interview and if all else goes well she will be given a 221g which just means that she needs to provide the missing document to the embassy as soon as she gets it in order for her case to continue processing. Depending on the embassy unfortunately this can add a lot of time to your journey.
Request a new copy of the BC ASAP to prevent delay or search really hard for the old one.

beccajayne93 got a reaction from B-2-Z in POE by car?
For the most part I don't think it's completely necessary as most people seem to not have anyone do a thorough check of their items (looks like B-2-Z didn't!) but other people have suggested it... maybe it's for goods that are following later on/or if a company is shipping the goods for him? I'm not sure but I have done it anyway lol. I think you'll be fine if you didn't. Good luck with his POE
And B-2-Z, I don't need a vet certificate for my bird for land entry, just an appointment with the vet at the border Until about 2 weeks ago I would have needed an import permit for him ($$$) due to an apparent outbreak of the avian influenza but that seems to have passed as the website has updated and I no longer require one, thankfully

Welcome to the issues of Hyundais... I am having the same problem with my 2013 Hyundai Elantra and I have done A LOT of research.
A typical import for a car requires the manufacturer's letter that states it is compliant with US safety standards (specifically FMVSS) or the sticker on the car that also says it is compliant with FMVSS (this is relevant to the DOT form you would fill out at the border or when you import your car). You also need it to be emissions compliant, which (I know mine does) you should have a sticker under the hood of your car saying US EPA - no adjustments needed (which is relevant to the EPA form when you import). On pretty much any other make of car, this is all you need and you're good to go!
HOWEVER Hyundais from Canada are a different story. Any car that cannot get a compliance letter issued needs to import their car using a registered importer (RI) which costs money. However, the issue I am having with my Elantra is that, in order for an RI to make the car compliant, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) must be installed by the original manufacturer (Hyundai). This is because the US states that every car manufactured after Sept. 1 2007 must be installed with OEM TPMS. Here's the stickler - HYUNDAI CARS BUILT FOR CANADA CANNOT HAVE THIS INSTALLED AND IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO and so every importer has told me I simply cannot bring my car across.
Depending on the year of your car, you may not need to have this done... I'm not sure what is required from cars manufactured before Sept. 1 2007. You will however have to go through a registered importer due to being unable to retrieve the compliance letter (but get the one from Hyundai Canada anyways because it will give you information about any previous recalls).
Click on this link http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/and click on List of Nonconforming Vehicles Eligible for Importation and give that a read. Find out which section your car is applicable to and find out if it can be made compliant. The same link provides the RI's available - it would probably be helpful to you as well if you gave one of them a call and asked how to proceed.
Since importers cost a lot of money, I would maybe consider the options of selling the Hyundai here and buying another car down there - I would do that if I owned my car outright, but I don't and I owe a considerable amount. Since there is NO possible way for MY car to be imported, I am considering trading it in for a car whose manufacturer will actually issue me a US compliance letter.
Like someone said, you have a year to import your car once you cross if you don't want to deal with this right now! I had a thread about this a couple months ago where someone crossed without issue - here's the link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/544285-thinking-ahead-about-my-car/
I thought everything was fine until I double checked with the border and they said that the Canadian compliance letter would not be sufficient, so I think that the person who posted in my topic was lucky
I hope I helped somehow... it really is an unfortunate circumstance for all of us who have Hyundais

And to shortly answer your previous question, you CAN cross with the K-1 visa but you just won't be able to import it at the time unless you follow the procedure I mentioned... and you have up to 1 year after entry to import it properly or it has to come back to the US. And you won't be able to title/register the car until it is imported as well.

beccajayne93 reacted to Ash.1101 in APRIL FILERS AFTER NOA2 - NVC (CSC)
My NOA2 was June 2nd. I had called on the 16th or 17th because that was two weeks and they hadn't had it yet, so I called again on monday the 29th and was told that they just send the ones for canada right on after they get the case number/put it in the system.

So I looked at the dates for ones only sent to Canada, and it looks like ones were mailed on the 23rd, 25th, and 29th. The EXP dates are 22, 24, and 29 though, but those are the ones sent so far from last week to Montreal and Vancouver.

So the only one's that will have info for Canada are

    EXP 22 JUN 2015A
    EXP 24 JUN 2015A
    EXP 29 JUN 2015A

None for the 30th, or today the 1st.

If you just had your number assigned on the 29th, I'd doubt it was in the 29th pack, but it might be in one of the next two which means they should have it at the consulate by next week BUT I've heard Montreal sucks on paperwork, so it might sit in their mail room for a week or two before anyone touches it.

Either way, it should look something like this. Make sure you have spaces, that was what was messing it up for me for a while.

    Hi all,
I just did some calculations based on Igor's List.
They are definitely well into processing April now. I noticed that they are processing roughly 44 a week in total, with about half of those being April.
If you received your NOA1 between April 1 and April 7, there are 28 approved, and 34 still not processed, so roughly half of those receiving NOA-1s the first week of April are still not processed.
If you received your NOA1 between April 8 and April 13, there are 16 approved and 39 still not processed, only about 30 percent of those have received NOA-2s.
Today, there was an NOA-2 for a filer with an NOA-1 date of April 21.
But I say all this because assuming they continue to process in California at the rate of 44 a week, and assuming that they are now processing mostly March and April, then you could look to see where you are on IGOR'S unapproved list to calculate when you should receive your NOA-2. I think it is a lot longer than stated in the "predicted date". Based on my fiance and my NOA-1 receipt date of April 22, I am estimating an NOA-2 date of June 2 now.
I think, especially for the second half of April filers, the processing time from NOA-1 is going to end up being approximately 40-45 days. If it is sooner, then great, and this is certainly possible based on the NOA-2 received today from an April 21st filer.
I find that I just need to be patient or this is going to drive me crazy !! LOL.
    Cheers !

I just did all of this yesterday. I have a 2013 Hyundai Accent. I called Hyundai Canada for this famous compliance letter. Save your dime because they will tell you straight up they don't do that anymore.
Go check the stickers on the door and under the hood.
You are looking for: U.S. EPA: #### ### and OBD: CA II and No Adjustment Needed. These 3 things are your key to freedom. I know its there because it is on mine. Find the Form 3520-1 online and open it with Adobe Reader. Fill out that form. Leave the Customer Entry # blank...your not a broker. Go online and find the Port Entry Code of the Port you will be entering from. For example....I am entering the US at Houlton, ME so my Port Entry Code is 0106. Next look up HS-7 Declaration (DOT), fill that out the same. Don't sign them until you are at the point of entry. Make a copy of your bill of sale or lease. (Get a letter from you financing or bank on letter head saying they are allowing you to transport the vehicle to the USA with money still owning and that you have made arrangements with them for payment). Make a copy of the registration of the car and also the permit for the license plate. Make a copy of your insurance card. If you have the phone number & fax of the port you will be entering you can fax the title of your car ahead of time for them to search the title to speed things up at the border. Send with a cover page of when you plan on entering the US and the details of your car that is still under a lease and also the letter from you finance with your agreement. Call them to make sure they received it. YOUR DONE. Now all you have to do is show up at the border with the car.
