  1. March filer here. We got in just under the wire! Our NOA1 is dated 2 days before our expiration!

A lot happened though, including the death of my mother (who I was a caregiver for) on February 6th. We ended up having to use the Filing fee $ for her cremation and had to wait for our next paycheck.

We don't have a lot of financial evidence. we sent:

    -Tax filed jointly

-shared bank account statements 18+ months

-His life insurance policy naming me as beneficiary

!!!we didnt have a lease of utilities because our home was my mothers until she passed away and all utilities were in her name because she requested it stay that way.

-we sent chat and SMS logs for him and I

-chat logs between his daughter and I (she is still in the netherands)

-photos of us together with dates and occasions labeled

-photos of him with my children with dates

-photos of his daughter with our family when she came for a visit

2 weeks ago (after sending the packet) we applied for a car loan together and bought a car.

have the opportunity to transferr the deed to the house into my name or to both of us jointly.  Would it help our case to do that? Its been submitted already, but the house is paid for and has significant financial value. is it worth doing to pay a lawyer to trasfer the deed and submit that late as additional proof?

Thanks! It's been a while since i was around here... I'm a little rusty!

  2. My husband finally got his visa/passport yesterday! They said "you'll have it within 5 business days. Nope. But I'm so glad he has it now. He's going to be coming in on Monday Feb 29th. (leap day) POE will be Newark, was hoping for Detroit, but the Newark ticket was an incredibly good price so we'll have a little money left over for a nice bottle of wine to celebrate!

    Now come on Monday!

  3. Does no one know this?....

I am married in florida last year i sended in the certificate of our marriage from the county clerk

On my p4 letter stands that this will be send from nvc to the consulate but do i need to bring the origial with an appostille from the state of florida or is that not nessesary? And is the certificate just fine and enough?...

What I can tell you about our experience is this:

When we submitted our documents to both USCIS and the embassy we submitted a non apostille document. When Klaas took our original documents in to the interview he had an apostille certified original with him. (we ordered it both ways since it was in Barbados). The CO didn't even look at the back of the certificate where the apostille certification was and approved him.

Your wedding certificate is US. You are going to an interview in the US consulate. Bring the original certificate. But it doesn't need to be apostille.

  4. So frustrated. The website for the amsterdam consulate says passport will be returned to you within 5 working days of your interview. My husband was told the same thing by the CO. But looking at VJ timelines tells a different story. It used to be 3-4 days 2 years ago, more like 5 days 1 year ago, but more like 8 now. :(

Our situation is so difficult, everyday is a struggle. But I am grateful that he's been approved, but I wish they wouldn't tell us something if they know they aren't going to fulfill their "promise".

I have spent a lot of time going over amsterdam timelines and tracking all the dates. Even the difference between Tuesday and Thursday interviews. They just aren't doing what they say they will do. I'm just putting this here so other Dutch couples are aware of the time. Heaven forbid someone buy a ticket based in what they're told. We didn't because I looked at the VJ timelines before the interview.

  5. hello to all ...

I am category Cr1 my case was completed in January 29

my husband out of curiosity came to the site of the ECAC and now says this:

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section . Date of the interview was provided to by the National Visa Center .

we are very concerned that the NVC has not assigned us an interview date and my husband called to nvc and they say, they sent my documents to the consulate of Santo Domingo,is the consulate they have to send a letter of interview for us ..

That's just the standard "in transit" message that appears for everyone. I had that message too even though our case was expedited and the consulate had to schedule our interview. Which they did as soon as they received our file.

  6. Thanks you!

In my case, it went from "Ready" to "visa Issued" yesterday and it stayed like that ever since. Don't worry, remember each embassy/consulate is different, it could be very well be that they are attaching the Visa to the passport (that is how they issued to my hubby, and putting together the package in the typical manila envelope and taking their time to do it ;)

You are absolutely right! I just checked again. I actually said out loud "probably nothing changed, but it doesn't hurt to check"

ISSUED!!! I actually squealed with happiness! And that's usually not me...

  7. Visa package in hand you guys! That was way quicker than we expected. The CO said 5 days to be issued but I guess they like to take care of business ASAP down in Naples! Hubby and I are both jumping with happiness. Also, we bought his plane to ticket too for March 2nd! :-D

    Congratulations! So happy for you!

I have a question. Interview was yesterday. This morning status went from "ready" to "administrative processing" and now back to "ready"... Please tell me the next step is issued and not AP again??? I'm so happy, but still a little bit eager.

  8. Congratulations! Very happy for you. We had a good outcome too! This is one of the happiest days of my life after my wedding day lol.

Hope your hubby arrives safe to you :)

Yesss! Check out my long post on the whole

Experience lol. Had to let it all out so I would explode. Good luck to you on the 1st :)

    Thank you!

Thanks and congrats to you as well. Just checked visa status too and it says issued. Woohoo!!

Wow, that's fast! Is that normal?

  9. To be expedited you have to prove hardship to the US citizen .

We were not expedited at the uscis, but we were at the NVC.

Our expedite was approved based on financial hardship because I had to quit my job to move to take care of my mother who is dying of cancer. Also, I added medical reasons to mine because I was recently diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder that causes a lot of pain making it difficult for me to care for my mother and my 2 children.

Expedites aren't handed out easily usually.

Another reason they are granted is if the US citizen is in the military and will be deploying soon.

  10. That tracking does not play any roll at this point, we all know their package has been there for awhile because of the expedite.

But I am trying to retask one of my satellites to target

https://www.google.com/maps/place/U.S.+Consulate+General/@52.3560657,4.8818113,117m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x47c609f02f3410cb:0xb1d01ff5a2ffe995 and see the expresion of Jenvds's husband when he comes out in about 10 minutes from now.

He came out just as you posted that... Happy tears! Approved!

This photo was taken at 8:31am your message was posted 8:32! :)
