  1. My husband voted early in Madison county in IL too today at the college campus, he even got a t-shirt that says "Nah nah nah nah na I voted early"- I'm not even joking. They have voting booths in college campuses to get the students involved which I think is a great idea

  2. Luz I see you're in Peoria, my hubby is originally from there, all my in-laws live there, I hope you like it!

I'm up in Peoria this weekend for a wedding and it's supposed to snow again on saturday. I bet my friend didn't expect a "white" wedding in April haha, although now it leaves me with the dilemma of what to wear!

Hope you settle into life in the USA!!

  3. I was transferred to CSC and got approved last week, and received my greencard today, and never had to attend an interview. Most people who go through CSC are in and out pretty quick but there were quite a few of us who had been waiting since september, there is a thread in this forum where you can go and give your dates (I think kaffy kat updates it) and you can track who was transferred before you etc. I can't remember for the life of me what the title of the thread is but it has over 100 pages so you can't miss it!

  4.:dance::dance::dance: Congrats Katie_UK, I am so happy for you. It gives me hope that maybe the rest of us at the top of that list will get ours too. Congrats, congrats, congrats,:dance::dance: Sometimes it's hard to be happy when others get approved and we sit in never never land but today I can say is not one of those. I wonder if I would be any happier if it had been our approval. CONGRATS Katie. Your out of USCIS He** for 2 years!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Freda thank you so much for your congrats! I know what you mean, sometimes it was hard sitting back and watching all those approval messages from other posters and wishing it was me who had been approved. It was hard to feel happy for them after a while, so your post means a lot to me!! I always used to say to my husband how I can't wait to see when you, Kaffykat and drpepper were approved as you all are waiting as long as me. I do hope you all get your approvals soon and I will be sticking around to give you all a huge congrats when you all do get approved!

HappyOne: I was touched on march 5,6,7,8,9,12 and approved yesterday according to my email. So i guess I was touched quite a lot before the approval.

Come on CSC bring out more approvals

  5. Yay I got touched again today! After having no touches since september and then having my case "found" I've been touched pretty much every day since the 5th! Hopefully it'll mean an approval soon, I do hope all this touching isn't gonnna lead to another RFE though!

Karen, I'm sorry your case has been a while since it was last touched. I do hope it gets some action taken on it soon. I do believe I read somewhere that you had your senator look into and you're in namechecks, if so at least you are aware of what the hold up is and hopefully it'll be resolved properly.

I wasn't touched for almost 5 months, it was only when I had a service request done that the USCIS realised that although they "sent" the case to california, they actually had just filed it away in Lee's Summit MO at least now these touches mean at least it got there this time!!

  6. Congrats to all the recent approvals!! Hopefully this is going to be a good week of approvals from CSC!!

Kaffykat and drpepper I'm thrilled that you got the email saying it's being processed! I too got that email on the 5th saying it finally made it to CSC and I also got touched today just like you two did! I hope this means good news for us, I will be watching this thread closely now just waiting for us to be able to post we were approved!! Maybe my service request did have something to do with this, it's certainly very odd that we all got the same message on the same day after months and months of nothing. Makes me wonder if you two are next to mine in the box!!

  7. Hello to All CSC Transferees

I wanna convey all the Best of Luck to all my co-CSC transferees who are still awaiting for their speedy processing and approvals.

    Be more patient

    -rebelheart-

I agree....patience is definately required with this process. However, as I'm sure others will agree, if there were some sort of fairness to this process then there wouldn't be this need for reminders to be patient. I guess this is what sticks in my throat (old southern saying)...how some gc's are approved in such a short time and others sit and wait...and wait...and wait. If everyone goes through namecheck, then the process for that should be the same amount of time unless something definate about that name comes up.

Karen, I thought you worded this exactly right...it's exactly how I feel. I have no problem with waiting for the GC after all I'm finally with my husband and that is worth so much to me, but it's the fact that some people whiz through and others do not. It's the fact that we get given little to no information on the hold up and told "not to compare cases" which is easier said than done really. Most of all I hate the fact that my paperwork was rotting away in a vault somewhere when it was supposed to be sent to CSC and it took me 5 months to finally get it sent out to CSC where it should have been back in September. Ah well, I got touched on Saturday so maybe I might have some action!

  8. I received a confirmation number for my service request but I never needed to use it. I got a written response back about 50 days after the request was made, and unfortunately I'm the person Miranda is referring to- I got told to make an infopass appt, and at that appt I was told that my case, even though it was supposed to have been sent to CSC and I had the NOA from CSC to prove it, unfortunately it had never been sent and was instead filed away. I'm glad I got the service request as it gave me the chance to find out what was going on with my case, and finally get it sent to CSC, although i'm still very annoyed that for 5 months I thought it was at CSC when in fact it was just filed away. Oh well..... I hope your request gives you an answer for why you've been waiting.

  9. Hi all, Still nothing for me to update you about unfortunately. It seems my DO at St. Louis said he'd send my file off to CSC where it's supposed to have been, but still have not received the email saying it is now pending at CSC. In fact for the past almost 6 months my case status says it's being transfered to another office for processing. We shall see if my case makes it to CSC this time.

This whole thing is actually starting to p*ss me off to be honest. I've been given the run around about my case, I've heard so many mis-info line people tell me that my case was at CSC and the whole time it was stuck somewhere cos someone forgot to send it out. And to think they're gonna raise the prices soon *to improve efficiency* ha, they're just a money making machine and could not care less about the people behind paperwork. I know I only filed late july with an NOA of 8 August so it's still early days but it's starting to annoy me that people are whizzing past and i'm 4th from the top of the transfer list.

I get asked all the time by people i work with if I like living here, and lately I've really had to stop and think, well do I? I come from a country in my opinion just as good as the USA and the only reason I moved here was for my husband ( after all he lived in England a long time and wanted to come "home") so sometimes I wonder why we didn't just stay in England.

KaffyKat: I'm glad they did a service request on yours and your daughters case, hopefully you should get some answers. I had a service request done and they sent me a letter saying to make an infopass. I then found out my case was never actually sent out to CSC but will now be sent- 5 months later. I HOPE you get approved soon, you've been waiting just a week longer than me!!

  10. I know exactly how you all feel...I'm right there with ya! Sometimes I feel like us CSCer's have no right to complain when we won't have to be interviewed and when often it is quick, but for those of us left behind it's depressing to hear people who filed in Dec and now they have their interview notice already or were already transferred and approved from CSC.

I'm disappointed in the whole system. I attended my infopass appt yesterday regarding my AOS and was told that even though my case was transferred to CSC on 14th September, it had actually just been filed away at Lee's Summit and ST. Louis DO will now send it to CSC where it was supposed to have been for the last 5 months. I just feel disappointed that my file was just filed away and someone forgot to do their job properly, and worse than that, I get offered no apology, no reason for why it was never transfered, even when I gave him my NOA saying it was sent to CSC. They are unanswerable to everyone it seems.

  11. Hi Folks! So a lil update from me for anyone interested in my infopass appointments.....today I returned to the St. Louis DO on the advise of my DO officer from last weeks appointment, and unfortunately it wasn't the good news I had been hoping for. I'm not a pessimistic person by nature, in fact I've alwasy been very bubbly, and when people here said my news last week was sure to mean an approval I was quick to not get my hopes up, and rightly so it appeared! Unfortunately California never received my case. My case was sent to CSC on 14th Septmeber, but actually stayed in Lee's Summit the whole time until last week when my IO at the infopass appt asked for it to be sent to her. I saw my file in all it's glory, it must be about 2 inchs thick, and was told by a different immigration officer that he was now going to send it to CSC. I asked him if it was supposed to be in CSC already and showed him my NOA saying it was there, and he basically avoided my question by saying he's sending it to them and hopefully I won't get an interview. OH well we'll see what happens.... I'm not even gonna bother now with worrying about CSC and AOS cos I've wasted 5 months worrying over whether my file even made it to CSC and now I know even though it had been "transferred" it actually in reality had just been filed away. It makes me not even interested in living here (I know, I sound so dramatic, but it makes my life feel so like rubbish when they can just "forget my file"- sorry this is so whiney, it's late I've been worked all day at my two jobs and had a crappy infopass appt so I'm just being a moany cow!)

Anyway hopefully my case will now make it to CSC. I hope next week brings better news for all the people still high up on the CSC transfer list!

  12. James, my infopass appointment actually went well I think! I wrote about it in another thread, I think the CSC processing dates thread or summat like that. ANyway the officer I had was marvellous I cannot praise her enough, one of the loveliest encounters I've had with immigration! ANyway basically she said that on her computer she saw my file as being in the national records centre in lee's summit. I handed her my receipt notice from california and she told me it had been to california and the was sent back to "the vault" as she called it and is now locked away somewhere. She believes this means I was approved without interview but that someone forgot to order my greencard. She requested to have my file sent to her in St. Louis and told me to make another infopass for this friday as she'll have my file by then.

I also got touched on my AOS yesterday which is rather exciting as the last time was 09/15/2006!

Good luck with everyone's cases, I do hope my case has seen an approval, I'll definitely check back in on friday after my other infopass. And I do hope everyone else high up on the list gets touches and approvals galore!!

BTW drpepper1109 did you ever make an infopass or anything on your case?

    Katie

  13. Meauxna I know 6 months is nothing to wait at all, and I know there are others on here who have been waiting FAR FAR longer than I have. I only called the info line in dec to see why I had never received an email saying CSC had received it (as i believe is normal, from looking at this community anyway) and the rep told me she'd send out a service request as she told me i was outside of CSC processing (which makes no sense as no where I can find posts what their processing date is of transfered I-485 family based greencrads.) Anyway I received a letter on wednesday saying I had to make an infopass. If I had never received the letter I would have happily sat it out. There are other couples (like rebeccajo etc) that deserve theirs after waiting so long, who am I to moan about 6 months compared to her wait? I try and never moan about this process and I know i have hardly anything to moan about. Hopefully this will all be resolved, I'll take the afternoon off work, as I said I only live 30mins from my DO so in that respect I'm extremely lucky as it's not far at all.

Kathryn41 wow I'm sorry you went through so much with your AOS, thank goodness you have your greencard now! You must've had the patience of a saint to wait so long!! Maybe we should put the email addy on here for CSC for people who have been waiting a while?

  14. Thanks for everyones responses. I went ahead and made another infopass appointment for Friday 16th at 2.30, I do hope this is the last time I need to ask off work to go down there. Luckily I'm about 30 mins from my DO so it's not such a big deal to go there again.

The thing that is worrying me is that she said it's PROBABLY an approval. That means there is a possibility that it wasn't approved and that it was just sent back accidentially, thus I would be sent to the back of the line at CSC even when they are at fault for me waiting 5 months while I think my file is at CSC.

I was so stunned, and the lady was soooo super nice, that I wasn't even pissed off I just said "Oh ok" and in pure shock. Really how can they have forgotten about my case? It makes me wish I had made an infopass sooner! Hopefully Friday will bring better news and she'll have my file. I'm gonna ask to see it as I really don't believe it even exists now, I'm still convinced it's lost somewhere. It's gonna be a LOOOOOOOOOONG week!!

  15. So I went to my infopass appointment today and I really don't know what to think of it all  I spoke with a very lovely lady at the St. Louis DO. She looked up my file and told me that actually my file is in Lee's Summit MO. I showed her my receipt notice from CSC and she told me that she had seen that it was sent to Laguna Nigel and that they had then sent it to the National Records Centre in Lee's Summit and it's now "locked away in a vault somewhere."

Obviously I asked what this meant with my case. First she told me I'm the first case she's seen of a CSC transfer with no interview- and then her boss took her to one side and explained about CSC transfer. She then told me that as far as she can see it was most probably approved, but someone forgot to order the card. It was then sent back to Lee's Summit to be locked away. Strange as I've never heard of this. She then told me to reschedule an infopass for next Friday to give her 7 days to get my file, as she's sent a request to Lee's Summit asking to see my file.

I then asked her if I was in FBI namecheck and she said as far as she can see on the computer everything is fine with my namecheck, that's not what the hold up is. So now i'm all dazed and confused as to what's going on.

I guess I better go and reschedule my appointment and then grovell to my boss tp get another friday afternoon off work
