I appreciate all the detailed responses.
So after getting married I would apply for I-130 for the spouse living outside the US.
The processing time is typically 2 years for I-130.
Then the spouse can enter US with approved I-130 and no adjustment of status is needed.
Am I understanding this correctly?
And I believe I cannot apply for K1 Visa for fiance because I am not a US Citizen.
-
So couple of years for I-130 itself and another year or so for I-485???
-
He is in the UK not in US. He might visit on a visit visa
-
Apologies for the typo.
My permanent GC is pending approval and the person I will be marrying is a UK citizen.
I wanted to know what is the timeline I will be looking at from the time of applying for I-130 to its approval and then I-485 to getting the temporary Green Card.
-
And the person I am going to marry is in the UK. He is a US Citizen.

My permanent GC is pending approval.

After that we apply for I-485 and how long of a wait am I looking at for the GC to arrive?
And does the processing time vary by country?

Hi everyone,
My permanent GC is currently pending approval.
I wanted to know if I marry a foreign spouse then typically how long do I need to wait for Form I-130 to be approved?
After that when I file I-485 how long do I need to wait for the temp green card approval?
Can someone give me a typical timeline that I can expect for the whole process?.

sorry for the typo

Has anyone contacted USCIS California Center to figure out why they are so slow?
-
I have added my details. But may be there is an easy way to do this.
Because I struggled with adding my info.

How to add my case details to this list?
-
Do we have a tracker for Jan 2018 filers?
I filed on Jan 22 and got my NOA on 26th
-
This is a stupid question, but I will go ahead and ask.
I cant figure out how to reply to a specific post.

17th months....
Hey Emily, I am from Minnesota too.
When did you receive your NOA?
-
Hello everyone.
I received my NOA on Jan 26th 2018.
Filed from Minnesota and so I fall under the California.
My 751 package is filed with a wavier because of divorce.
Any idea what is the track record of California Service Center for processing 751?
-
Yeah I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Hope it works out. Thank you all for the support

@Morgan&Michael
So the questions we answered differently were - What is the color of the walls in your bed room?.
I answered beige(lighter shade of beige) and my husband said white.
And my husband was asked when he had flown in to meet me while I was working in Houston.
I answered end of September 2014 and said I was not sure what exact date was and my husband said October 2014.
So we were not terribly off in my opinion. I'm not sure how they do their evaluation. There is always room for error when the questions are mostly based on memory.
-
You clearly had a great interview. Thanks for sharing the experience.
If I may ask, for how long have you been married?.
-
We were not video taped and the questions asked were not more than 10-15.
-
@QueenyComly - Thanks for sharing the link.
This was our first interview so I am not sure why they separated us.
They were doing the same for all the couples at the office.
Wonder why they did that.
-
This was the first interview.
The office was interviewing all the couples separately instead of bringing them together.
So I think the procedure was standard for all.
Processing time for Form I-130 to bring foreign spouse

The marriage was entered in good faith. And I got a letter while submitting my I-751 that he also believes that the marriage was entered in good faith but it did not work out. And that he assures that there was no fraud involved. The marriage was entered in good faith. Also, I have been in the US legally for almost 10 years now. I entered on F1 and then got my H1B and then GC through marriage.
Even if raises questions if the marriage is genuine then can I apply for I-130 during my 5 year waiting period to get Permanent GC?
