Im sorry im still a bit confused so i apologize for clarification so please explain to me as if i was 5 years old. If im correct the best thing to do now is go to the SSA and apply for a SSN using her maiden name. Then i fill out all forms 485 765 and 130 with my last name. Now do i still check box and section that i want SSN on those forms? Or say no cause i already applied in person for a SSN at the SSA? Can i submit 485 and rest of documents immediately this week or must i wait till i get SSN in hand with maiden name that i go apply for on monday? Long story short apply for SSN monday with maiden name every other document for 485 use my last name?

Can you explain a bit more im confused. So on i485 and 765 do i check the box of want a SSN? Or just on 485? And do i do it with my last name? Do i still apply independently for SSN next week with her maiden name? Or not at all and only do it through AOS

Whats faster? I honestly dont care if she keeps maiden name or my last name. Shes leaning towards taking mine but we want what ever is quikcer in order to start working and what not

So do you recommend not getting it now and checking the box off in the 485 with my last name?

Hello all hope all is doing well i was wondering if i can get some advice regarding my situation. My fiancee arrived last month on k1 visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what i have been looking online i made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on monday to gather more information but since she will be taking my last name what are the next steps then? Would it be easier if she just keeps her last name? Should i apply for her social now? Or do i check the box for applying for a SSN when i fill out the I-485? Keep in mind i am trying to do the fastest way possible in order for her to get her drivers license open a bank account and work as fast as possible. also does employment authorization and travel authorization all go together with i485 or are the sent or filed separately?

So did i screw up? I just got married today thought i needed to wait for marriage in order to apply for ssn with my wife changing her maiden name to my last name?

No it wasnt really i know every country must be different but she had a good amount of available dates as well as pretty soon. Compared to tourist visas which she said were all a year or 2 out compared to k1. She did say it was 7 or 8 available dates per month like 3 months out.
