Hello visa journeyers
I had my interview this morning at casablanca consulate, and al hamdolillah my visa was approved.
I would love to share my case expedition experience with you and I really do hope that, one day, my post be helpful for someone.
January 15th, 2015 my husband was diagnosed with an illness that necessitates my presence with him
We were waiting for our case to be completed but an expected REF popped up and we got a checklist on February 27th, 2015
So we decided to ask for an expedition and delay sending the corrected form to the NVC until we receive a response concerning our request.
March 3rd we sent the following email attached with the doctor report and the analyses report to NVCExpedite@state.gov
SUBJECT: Request to Expedite CR1 Case.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Please find attached the following:- Letter from my doctor,
- Analyses report.
(a paragraph where you introduce yourself and explain the reasons in detail why you're seeking for an expedition) .
So I would like to kindly request NVC to please expedite the processing of my spouse's case at the earliest convenience and hope that NVC considers this expedite request.
Case details as follows:Case Number: xxxxxxxxxxxxName of Principal Applicant: xxxxxxxxxxxxDate of Birth: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxPetitioner Name: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Very truly yours,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Phone: (put the phone number of the principal applicant that the consulate can reach him on)March 10th my husband called the NVC and the representative told him that our expedition request has been approved
March 11th we received an email confirming our expedition request approval
March 13th the case status updated to "in transit" at CEAC
March 16th the case status updated to "Ready" at CEAC
March 20th I received a call from the consulate asking me to get my medical exam ready and bring it to them so they can schedule an interview appointment form (I didn't receive any convocation for the medical exam, they asked me to choose a doctor over the phone and they called him and gave him my name)
March 21st I called the doctor to confirm the appointment date
March 23rd I had my medical exam ready, I took it to the consulate at 2 pm, and then I was notified that I had been scheduled for the interview on March 25th
March 25th I had my interview, al hamdolillah it was fairly good, the first questions were about the expedition reason and my husband's illness, the remaining questions were about our marriage story and our future plans.
Estimated "visa in hand" date: March 30th, 2015 in sha'allah
Good luck for everyone

congraaaaaaaaaaaaaats, alf hniya w hniya ya lalla
my case was at California service center too and it was approved in less than 2 months al hamdolillah
-
this morning my husband got to talk to them, the trick is to call them at exactly 07:00 am EST
-
it took us exactly 60 days not less nor more, hope you won't have a checklist as happened to us
-
hello,
may I ask when did you get your expedition approved?
they accepted our expedition request yesterday, the case status at CEAC still the same "At NVC", we don't know what to expect next.
How could your wife have access to schedule an appointment on ustraveldocs for an immigrant visa? I tried too but I don't know how!!
-
when the AOS fee changes from "paid" to "N/A" then it means that your case is completed, good luck

Hi guys, I'm sorry for not responding as I had no answer for you all. I was able to get my case expedited due to financial hardship. My husband lost his job in the DR and I, the USC, was having to help him financially and could no longer afford to. It was either daycare for my child or a roof over his head. Needless to say I've had to take out a loan for the time being but....
My case was expedited at NVC on Feb 11th. I just saw on the CEAC website that it was sent to Santo Domingo TODAY!!! I called NVC since Feb 11th once/twice a week and they told me that they didn't know a timeframe and that I had to wait for them to get all of the documents I sent together. I called this evening to confirm what I saw and she said that from here on out all calls need to be directed to the embassy!
Its been almost a year since I last saw my husband (physically that is). He hasn't met our 5 month old daughter yet. This is such a blessing, hopefully we'll be together soon!
Thank you for your reply, I'm really so so happy for you, wish you great luck with the following steps
-
The only way that my husband can to talk to NVC is by calling them at exactly 7:00 AM EST or even at 6:59 AM, they put him on hold for like 30 minutes and then he finally gets to talk to someone, otherwise he never reaches them and all he gets is the message you heard.
so call them at 7:00 am EST and good luck
-
congratulations,
may i ask for what reason did you get your case expedited? and how long did it take you to receive the expedition approval email?
we sent an expedition request too because my husband was diagnosed with seizure disorder, we attached to the email the doctor report, and we received an under review email 2 days ago, my husband and I are so nervous and so so in need for the expedition.
-
that definitely means your case is complete, congrats
-
Yes, it's easier to wait. Then you have a reference number for them to go by.
Thank you immensely for your reply
-
I know nobody has helped me with my previous questions but pathetically i'm gonna ask another question: do we have to wait until we receive a respond to our expedition request then we send the corrected form to NVC or it doesn't matter?

Hello everyone,
I disparately need your help with two things
Firstly, I'm the principle applicant and my husband is the petitioner. we received an email from NVC last Friday that says we're on the checklist because of two errors in the I-864 as follows:
[x] In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...[x] Item 5. You must enter your current individual annual income. This means the amount of money you expect to earnduring the current calendar year.[x] Item 10. The current annual household income must equal the sum of items 5, 6.c., 7.c., 8.c., and 9.c.when my husband reviewed the I-864 he sent to the NVC, he found out that in his form the item 5 and item 10 are both blank, and in the joint sponsor's form there are different amounts in the two items.I wanna know if item 5 and item 10 must contain the same amount? because when I checked the I-864 sample on visajourney I found that the number on item 5 is the same one on number 10 so I don't know if we have to correct only my husband's form or the two forms.
Secondly, my husband was diagnosed with seizure disorder, and the doctor report says that he shouldn't drive or do some activities alone, therefore we are thinking of using that report to ask NVC to expedite my case. Do you think it's gonna work or we gonna just waste our time and delay my case for nothing.
Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase I need your advice so bad because my husband and I feel so frustrated and so lost .
Thank you in advance
My visa journey has ended peacefully today (my experience with case expedition at NVC)
