    Interesting - thanks for sharing that experience. That's weird about the traffic stuff...

    For me, I am preparing all my documents for applying under the 5 year rule (I am divorced after 4 years of marriage). I have:

    • All years of Tax history (but a printout of 2014 as I haven't received the transcript yet)
    • Divorce Decree (certified)
    • Green Card
    • Drivers License
    • 3 UK passports (2 expired)
    • Selective Services registration proof
    • 2 passport sized photos
    I do have a ticket for less than $500 that was paid years ago. I have a print out of the public court record of the fine being paid.

    I am also a little concerned as I don't have a certified copy of my old marriage certificate from the married that ended (that brought me to the US). I have a copy - but not certified. It seems like I shouldn't have to present it though as I am applying under the 5 year rule and we are no longer married. I am also worried about the 2014 tax return, as I only have a printout - not a transcript.

    Any thoughts?

    I had interview in Denver last Thursday, of course every IO and office is different, but I was not asked to show any tax related documents, IO asked me about my passports and GC, I put them in a front of him, he just looked at my GC to confirm A# and didn't even touch my passports. Asked me about my husband, his address, his job, if we have kids, my job, my address, if I did my taxes. Didn't ask for any documentation. Went through the entire form N400 and ask the same questions again. Then we started to talk about weather, the town I live in. Just small talk...

    I don't think you should worry of not having certified copy of your marriage certificate. I don't think the IO would ask about it and if he/she does, show them the regular copy. They probably have it on the file anyway. They might ask you why you got divorced so quick and dig there a bit. Good luck!

    Should I be concerned waiting this long? The case timeline for Denver showing it was processing Sept 6, 2014 as of March 31, 2015 update, but at least one January 2015 N-400 applicant has already become a citizen.

    Still waiting for next notice - not even a "in line for interview" notice (Denver, CO location)

    I saw one other person filed first week of January 2015 with Phoenix lockbox and Denver location already had interview oath last week.

    Call them and see what they say. I am February filer and have interview on Thursday( Denver). Seems like the whole process took them 4 months in my case. My in line changed shortly after biometrics. I would give them a call just for the heck of it. Maybe the IO who handles your case is on vacation. Either way, I would give them a call.

    Just got back from my interview. I am sure hiroin was also in for a very unique experience.

    The security guards at the checkpoint told me that there seemed to be something wrong today since no one had shown up for citizenship interview (at 8:30 AM).

    The Denver district office usually starts interviewing people at 7:30 AM. This is exactly what I suspected would happen, i.e. lots of no shows.

    I was told to proceed to the waiting room on the second floor. Indeed, the entire room was empty, except the security guard and me!

    About 10 minutes later, the immigration officer came out to get me into his office.

    On the way to his office, he said that no one had shown up yet for their interview appointment.

    I then told him that I got my interview appointment notice after making several phone calls to the USCIS and got the notice through fax a week ago due to the 7-day policy which the IO wasn't even aware of.

    He then put down the information I gathered, and said he would need to report to his supervisor and other IOs.

    Yes, this is a major screw-up as he admitted.

    Before he started the interview, another IO knocked on the door and informed him that there would be no oath ceremony this afternoon because of the screw up.

    I would guess that hiroin and I would be the only two to appear for the interview today.

    The civis questions are:

    1. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence? (Thomas Jefferson)

    2. Who is the Commander in Chief of the military? (the president)

    3. What is the political party of the President now? (Democratic party)

    4. What are the two major political parties in the United States? (Democratic and Republican)

    5. There were 13 original states. Name three. (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania)

    pause, the IO was ready to give me a pass, but realized he had to ask another one

    6. Name one state that borders Mexico. (California)

    reading test:

    Who elects congress?

    writing test:

    The people elect congress.

    Then, the IO went through my application quickly. I made a few errors on travel dates and handed him a new copy of the page and he didn't seem to care.

    I was given Form N-652 saying I passed the tests of English and US history and government.

    My application has been recommended for approval.

    Then, the IO started to gather info about what went wrong. I told him that it's very likely that none of those applicants whose interview was scheduled on 3/23 received the notice because you never sent them.

    He thanked me for providing the info, and put down the date 3/23. He even said that he never saw the interview notice through fax like the one I have.

    No same day oath because of their mistake. I'll need to wait for a letter from them. He said it's probably going to be on a Friday.

    Please do send me the oath letter, please.

    Thank you for sharing. I have my interview scheduled for June (Denver). Was very surprised to see the interview letter 3days after online status changed for "interview scheduled". Maybe they noticed their mistake and trying to do everything not to repeat it. Congrats on passing the test and hopefully the oath ceremony is only a few days away.

    Hey Dario,

    I don't think I'm too harsh... I find it weird that someone would want to take on citizenship of a country and does not understand the basic tenets of that country's official language. It's a commentary on the large population of people who move to the US, and in this case Texas, and never bother to learn English. I have many immigrants friends who came to the US or Canada and knew no English and while they were in the 40's, they made the effort to learn it and all know enough English now to fully participate in life here.

    As for Quebec City, yes I have been and it was lovely! In terms of people not speaking English in Quebec City, let us not compare apples and oranges as French is an official legal language in Canada, while Spanish might be common in the US but but it's not an official language. OP would be well advised to become fluent in English for his/her own benefit.

    It seems like you are the only person I've heard of, who never misunderstood another. Easy to judge someone and the situation not even being there and witnessing it. From the posts above seems like the English skills are good enough to fully participate in life here. So yes, u are too harsh. I know it is hard being open minded, but try coz karma is a b.....ch!

    I wish I understood this process better - someone at the same field office as me (on a different forum) had their biometrics done a week after me, and now have their interview date. I would love to get an inline notice or something! :(

    You might not get in line at all. Some people get interview schedule notice without going in line. I bet you will get something soon. :) I understand your frustration, not sure what it all depends on, maybe the IO who is in charge of your case. The same here with me, some people in the same office as mine got their FB appointment scheduled earlier than I, even if they sent their N400 a week or two later. Oh well, I am sure in the end it will all work out. Good luck!
