  1. Thank you both for your responses! I'm going to stay in the country until Wednesday and see if we can get any information before then. It's good to know that other people have been approved when the fiancee went alone. My fiancee is just nervous because at VAC they told him to make sure I was present and when he went for a tourist visa, everyone was talking about how hard it is to get a spouse/fiancee visa approved without the beneficiary. Thanks again!

If you cant attend to the interview takemcopy of the entries to DR on your passport and ur fiance shold bring flight tickets also, they will understand that u can for the interview but due to the problem and interview changes u had to go back to work.

Yes if he applied for a visitor visa they will ask about it he just has to answer with the truth, take as many proofs as you can.

  2. Hi there, I'm putting together my AOS package and I want to make sure a few things are correct.

    For my (petitioner) i-864

    - part 5, household size, because my husband is counted in number 1, I don't count him in number 3, right?

    - I did not file 2014 taxes because I'm living abroad and unemployed. I know I need to include a letter of explanation for that, but should I bother to include my 2013/2012 tax transcripts? I was just a college student waiting tables, my income wasn't much.

    For my joint sponser (stepdad)

My stepdad files jointly with my mom, but he says that she does not have income counted on their tax forms, so only his income makes up the total. If that's the case, then my stepdad doesn't need to include his W-2s/other proof that his income alone is enough? (because I heard that this might be a problem for couples who file jointly.)

    Thanks!

Right, you cant count anyone twice. So question 3 is 0.

Yes, you have to fill out question 13a.

    2014= 0.00

2013= Total income u made by then not matter how much it was.

    2012= Total income u made.

Your stepdad is just using his income cuz it is enough to sponsor u and ur mom income is 0.00 so u are not using her income all you need from stepdad is:

-Copy os his American Passport if his is Citizen or Copy of Green Card if hi is Permanent Residente.

    -W2 or 1099

    -1040, 1040A or 1040Ez.

    - 4 Recent pay stubs.

    Optional Employment Letter Too.

Good Luck. If u dont sent W2 and all stuff of ur joint sponsor ur will be checklisted so you better make ur u sent every single thing.

I suggest you to send ur 2013 and 2012 tax return and W2 too. Just in case. Let question 13,14 in blank in ur affidavit. And on your joint sponsor affidavit Check question 13 Part 6 and let 14 in blank.

    Good Luck

  3. That's so kind from you saying I look older than hubby jejeje. Two persons have said that this week to meet lol.

Talk to ur girl it is more easy her to move with u than you going back to ur country. In our case my husband says if visa is denied he will sell everything and we will both move to Mexico, all his family lives in Mexico he is all alone in the US. I want to have a baby girl soon so I just want all of this passed to set up our lives together.

OP I wish you the best luck. Hope u guy find the way to make it work

  4. Does your husband originally from your country? Have you already got your CR-1 visa? Age difference is not much of the problem, but it does bring a red-flag at the time of interview which opens to scrutinze a case by officer more carefully. Of course, no officer will ever say that why this and that couples were scrutinzed more in depth, but age difference is behind all this most of the time. Besides, OP is in a same-sex relationship which is not tradition one (hetro-sexual relationships) because most people still are not used to this kinda of relationship...which is why OP hasn't told about his relationship to his spouse's family or anyone else unlike you who I'm sure must have flaunted your relationship with pride to the whole world....Each case is different and its decided based on its merit.

I understand ur point. My husband is from Mexico but he lives in the United States e ia citizen. My interview is in two weeks so I have not a CR1 visa yet.

No matter how much they scrutinaze if they both have Evidence to prove the bona fide of their relation.

Being gay in this century is something so Normal and society have to accept it. Everybody has the right to be happy with whom they want to. If me a 23 years old woman is happy married with a 55 years old man and it is normal at least in my country why if being gay is so normal right now they can't have a different age too?.

Here thanks God we go out, walk, subway, beach, resorts and everything and nobody look at us or gossip. I imagine how hard it is for u guys, One day ur partner will have to talk to his family about his sexual orientation if they love him they will accept him as he is.

  5. Don't worry and be happy.

My husband is 32 years older than me, he is 55 ans I am 23 We love each other so much and I am more mature than him lol just same like u guys. He comes over each 3 months, we have lot of pictures together, we rent a house together where I live now, he knows my family his family came from Mexico to Dom Rep for our wedding, we got lot of facebook, whatsapp, skype and phone conversations and lot of stuff. We got Marry August last year and my interview at the embassy is in 2 weeks. We met on Dominican Cupid we talked to each other for 8 months he couldn't come by then but we were very close to each other saw each other every night on skype, talked all day on skype and phone calls so he asked me to get marry and we did. He came 3 days before our wedding and we stayed at my parents home. He is an amazing man, he has been divorce and have three kids two of them older than me.

We know our interview will be little hard but we have lot of evidence to show so we are no scared. My husband is coming one day before the interview so we will go together. BTW we did everything by ourselves.

We are not a gay couple but we have big different age too. My husband looks very young, he is a very healthy man, work out and eat healthy.

  6. Thank you Rachel and ILOVEMYMAN - great information. One other question. When I Register on domex to make appointment for VCA do I register as myself(petitioner) or as my wife (the applicant)??

It is all about the beneficiary, I went to VAC today and took my fingersprint it was very quick about 10 min.

    She should bring

    -Passport

    -Ds-260 Confirmation

    -VAC appointment letter

-Interview letter and that's all, They didn't even ask for this one lol.

    Good luck to you guys.

  7. Hi everyone,

We received our IV date today for Santo Domingo in 6 weeks. I have a couple of questions and open to any advice. First, my wife lives in Puerto Plata which in about 5 hrs from the capital, Santo Domingo where the clinic for her medical exam is located so will we be able to schedule her interview within a few days before the interview? How long before the interview should we schedule this so that the results are available on time? How long after the interview will the visa be available on average? Is it true that I should wait until she is approved before purchasing her flight? I can get about 10 days off of work for the trip how do you believe the best timing would be in relation to the interview. Can you suggest reasonably priced hotels near the embassy? also any suggestion with this in mind on getting to the embassy and clinic from the hotel. Also if you would aside from the visa itself and the meical examination what other charges will I need to pay. Thank you in advance. You all on this site have been invaluable to me in navigating this process and I am so thankful. I look forward to your responses.

  9. Good Night Everybody (L)

This Thread is Amazing and I appreciate all the information u have given me, This is not only for the ones that are in the process this is for future people in this process looking for information and finding answers to their questions. It is so nice when u google an immigration question and u find visa journey answers.

You are an Angel Dwheel I don´t know how u can always be here for us,, but you always are and I appreciate it. (F) You´re doing such as great job-

    Thank you so much :goofy:

  10. Agree with the rep, they look at current annual income, which he makes enough. Dnt worry just take the information you provided if the CO would need a joint sponsor they will.give you the paper requesting just that form.

Breath, God is with you and He will make you a ranita!!!

Thanks for ur good wishes. I am leaving it in God hands so I gonna take a deep breath now and relax. Going to my medical exam Next Friday.

    VAC on July 1.

Hubby is coming on July 15 just one day before interview cuz he boss didnt allow him to come before. July 15-19.

Wish u guys the best interview ever.

  11. Called NVC and asked if we were going to need a Joint sponsor and the rep said we just recommend you to bring your Tax. So I told him about my husband individual annual income 52,000 and Q.13a Affidavit of support Total income 14,709 and he said, he earns enough and I said 52,000 then he said we didn't ask for a Joint sponsor but if u and your husband think a joint sponsor will make u feel more financial support then bring one but it is up to you.

Oh Lord we are mess up. Lol

  12. Hi Rachel,

I'm confused. When you sent your AOS to NVC was it 2014 information and they approved it? If so, in P4 did they request a joint sponsor for.the interview?

Which form did he file 1040 or 1040ez, you mentioned adjusted income which is for 1040ez. Regular 1040 use total income.

Hi yes NVC approved us AOS and everything we sent 2014 tax information, my P4 letter does not mention anything about a joint sponsor. My husband fill 1040 not 1040ez. I might get confused with total income and adjusted gross income. On question 13a. We wrote

Line 22 of 1040, Total income which is 14,709.00 cuz my husband does deductions.

And on question 5 and 10 we wrote 52,000 which is his individual annual income, we sent 4 pay stubs and an a Job letter stating his annual income. Also 1099 which say 48,000 as Gross income.

We have never been asked for Joint sponsor but I was told line 22 of 1040 is what we need to cover our household size which is 5, and on that line Total income it says 14,709.00, Q.13a. So we guess that is not enough cuz poverty guideline says we need 35,512.00
