    Hello All August 2017 filers,

We have been approved! We were out of town for the last three weeks. When we got home and  went through our mail we found the approval letter(dated January 15, 2019), then going through all the mail we found our card. Wow! We are in heaven now. We are CSC August 2017 filer, transferred to Nebraska Oct 18, 2018, applied N-400 Oct 16, 2018. Keep hope alive guys. It will happen soon.

    Congratulations! 😊

    Good morning everyone!

I applied for ROC on 8/31/2017.

    I received this

On December 21, 2018, we transferred your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WAC1733400372, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case

On 8/31/2018 I applied for naturalization.

I am new on this forum.. any idea about the timing?

    Thank you so much!

    Greetings from Miami

It really depends on which office your case was transferred to. The hard copy letter will tell you. As for us, we filed at CSC on August 1, 2017. The case was transferred to Nebraska on October 16, 2018. We received an approval notice on Jan 28, 2019, and just received the new green card yesterday.

So I have some news for everybody!!!!!! I was approved today for my 10 year green card. Finally! CSC filer, transferred to Nebraska ! What a journey it’s been. Fingers crossed for everyone

Wow, it’s great to finally see some movement for those CSC cases that were transferred to Nebraska. Ours was transferred to Nebraska on October 16, and still waiting. Any others?

WAC304, NOA 08/01/17, transferred to Nebraska on Oct. 16, still waiting

Also switched from joint to waiver after filing, not sure if that would change anything

My wife is in exactly the same boat. Her receipt number is WAC1730600XXX. Her case was transferred to Nebraska on Oct. 16, and so far nothing else. I was wondering if anyone whose case was transferred to Nebraska has seen ANY activity since the transfer?

  5. QUESTION:  My wife needs to get the stamp to extend the expiration of her green card.  (The Social Security office won't accept the extension letter for purposes of removing the restriction on her SS card.)  Our "local office" (where her case was transferred to last March) is in San Antonio, TX, but there aren't any Infopass appointments available for over 2 weeks, and we need the stamp quickly.  Another USCIS field office, over 300 miles away, has an appointment available on this Thursday.  Will that field office be able to give my wife her extension stamp, or does it need to be the local office here in San Antonio?

  6. QUESTION:  My wife got her Social Security card after she filed for adjustment of status, but before she got her green card.  Thus, her Social Security card has the restriction, "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" printed on it.  She received her conditional green card in September 2015 (expiration in September 2017), but we neglected to get her a new Social Security card without the restriction.

We filed her I-751 in July 2017, and we're still waiting.  Her original receipt notice extended the green card date to September 2018, and she just received the 18-month extension letter, so her green card expiration is extended to February 2019, based on the latest letter.

My wife is starting a new job in 3 weeks, and we just realized that she still has her restricted Social Security card.  My question is, if we visit the Social Security Administration office with her green card and the extension letters, will they issue her an unrestricted Social Security card?  Thanks.

No. I think in the last 4 years I have changed my job 3 times. I never disclosed this type of information until I was hired. For my current job, my HR called me in recently (since my gc expired) asking about my status and I gave her the letter. She just made a photocopy and put it in with my file. They can ask but you have all the necessary documents. 🙂

My wife didn't disclose this detail in the application process, except to check the box on the application stating that she has the legal right to work in the US.  Now that she has accepted the job offer, I'm a bit worried that they may have a concern about the 18-month extension letter when she starts the job.  (Maybe we're being paranoid.)  I was wondering if anyone has been in this situation.

  8. July filer here.  Has anyone had any difficulties with employers in relying on the I-751 receipt notice or the 18-month extension letter in establishing the right to work in the US when accepting an employment offer?  My wife's conditional green card expired in September 2017, but we have the letter extending the expiration for 18 months.  She just accepted a job offer, and they will want proof of right to work in the US on her first day.  There shouldn't be any problems, but has anyone had any difficulties with employers?

Hi Everyone! I’m a CSC filer..... And I got the 18 month extension letter in the mail just now!!!!! I filed July 21st. I was going to try and get the stamp next month, but I won’t worry about that anymore... for now.

    Hi Lara,

That's great news.  My wife is a July 2017 filer in Texas, so we are a CSC filer.  Did the letter give you an additional 18 months from the first letter, or a total of 18 months from the green card date?

Has anyone heard of immigration and customs detaining an immigrant prior to boarding for an international flight to their home country?

Ive heard of them questioning on entering the united states but never leaving the us.

Yesterday my husband was detained for 20 minutes prior to boarding his flight. This was in miami airport, and they were asking questions about if he was transporting drugs etc and asked for his residency documents. Do they do this at random? Why do you think they would target him specifically?  He did not have the stamp, just the extention letter.

It probably has nothing to do with your husband's immigration status.  I'm a US citizen.  About 3 years ago, I was flying to the Philippines for one of my many visits to my then-fiancee.  I was stopped at the gate by CBE officers in Detroit before boarding the flight to Tokyo, and was questioned about the purpose of my international travel, how much cash I had, etc.  I was tempted to tell the officers to take a flying f---, but decided that they would probably give me more of a hassle with that kind of response.  So, I answered their questions and was then allowed to board the plane.

  11. My wife never received her biometrics appointment letter.  We filed her I-751 on July 22, and got her NOA 1 on Aug. 4.  Nothing since.

On Oct. 10, I called the USCS main number, and they put in a service request.  Then, I called back on Nov. 13, and they told me to send an email to the CSC, which I did.  They sent me back an email claiming to be backlogged.  Still nothing.  Has anyone else waited so long (over 4 months) for the biometrics appointment letter?

  12. When I posted the above, for some reason my first paragraph was deleted.  Here is the intended first paragraph:

Hi, we filed our I-751 on July 22, 2017 (California Service Center) and received our NOA1 receipt letter dated August 2, 2017.  We have not received any biometrics appointment letter.  I noticed that other people have been getting their biometrics appointment letter only 1-2 weeks after their first receipt.

  13. On October 10, I called the USCIS NCSC number, and they said that they would put in a service request (I got a service request number), and was informed that we should get the biometrics appointment letter within 2 weeks.  Still, nothing.  I called back on November 13, 2017, and the NCSC person told me to send an email to the California Service Center, which I did that day.  The next day, we received an email back, wherein they claimed that there's an application backlog and that we need to just wait longer.

Looking at I-751 timelines, it appears that people are STILL getting their biometrics appointment letters within 1-2 weeks after the NOA1.  Is anyone else experiencing this delay for receiving their biometrics appointment letter?  For us, it's been over 4 months, and STILL no biometrics appointment letter.

This is way too long already, call the customer service hotline and ask them to transfer you to Tier2 agent. The Tier2 agent will create a service request for your biometrics appointment letter.

I just did this, and the agent said that it will take 15-30 days to get an an appointment letter.  I have no idea whether there was an original biometrics appointment letter was sent, and possibly lost in the mail, or if one was never sent.  Thanks.

What does your online status on the USCIS website say? Does it say biometrics were scheduled?

The system cannot find our receipt number.  However, the NOA1 says that online status is available only after receipt of the ASC appointment notice, by entering the "application number."  I don't know if the "application number" is the same number as the "receipt number" on the NOA1.

  17. I've had friends on flights where it has happened. Just because you got away with it doesn't mean that it is right

Well, if anyone ever complains, I'll be happy to put my ecigs in the overhead bin. Until then, I see no reason not to do as I like based solely on political correctness. lol
  18. That is incredibly inconsiderate. Vapor from e cigs could still set off smoke alarms if not careful causing unneeded stress for others

That's ridiculous. I've vaped on 6 trips to the Philippines, and there have never been any complaints or comments. Vapor won't set off alarms any more than steam from a cup of coffee. I always exhale into the blanket, so there's no visible sign of the vapor, nor any aroma. That's one of the benefits of ecigs.
