  1. Well we're currently hunting down the card!

Changed address online AR11 then 3 days later the status changed to "new card being produced" - yay!!

The day after it changed to "approved".

The day after it changed to "new card mailed" with tracking number.

At this stage I had a funny feeling that I should call to check the address change had been completed - the USCIS customer service repeated everything I could see on my screen but couldn't tell me where it had been sent!

The next day the card was shown as undeliverable at our old address!

USPS tracking showed it held at the local post office so as luck would have it we were back for Thanksgiving so went to pick it up on Friday. USPS could not find it at the post office where it was being held & the USCIS update was now showing "returned to USCIS due to undeliverable".

Today I put in a request with USPS as their tracking is still showing it being held at the post office - I get a call back from the post office to say they now have it! Luckily they have now sent it on to the new address & a new tracking number issued!!

Moral of the story - make sure you give plenty of moving notice! Oh & the MyAccount USCIS site is STILL showing case received with nothing needed at this time! The case status checker is up to date.

If I remember correctly we moved just before the extension letters were issued back in Oct 2018 & had the same issues with the change of address & missing letters!

I sent to Vermont the weekend before the centre changes. Received 09/10 & now has SRC number so assume transferred to Texas. Rang for details. They say NOA was mailed 09/20. Bank shows check cashed 09/21.

We moved last week so rang to update address & have NOA sent again to new address. Still checking mail at old place - still not arrived there!

Also in process of changing job, GC & DL expired last week. Luckily my current jobs don’t need to reverify & I have 31 days to renew the DL!

See if the NOA arrives any quicker to the new address!!!

Just got off the phone with USCIS, new NOA mailed to new address yesterday........

  5. Knightsbridge are actually following their Technical Instructions from the CDC that were revised when the forms were changed

    http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/panel/revised-department-state-medical-examination-forms.html

For section 2, which box should be checked for non-immigrant and refugee applicants?

Section 2 on the DS 2054 refers only to immigrant visa applicants. Non-immigrant and refugee applicants are exempt from vaccination requirements. Panel physicians should leave this section blank for non-immigrant or refugee applicants

That section 2 appears on the medical form you don't even get a copy of, but would be seen by any adjudicator as not complete before he ever got to,the vaccination worksheet. Form http://photos.state.gov/libraries/thailand/591452/iv/ds2054.pdf

And further down in the revisions about the vaccination worksheet

What box should be checked for an applicant who is not required to get vaccinations by a panel physician (such as Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) and refugee applicants)?

In some cases, such applicants have the option of receiving vaccinations by a panel physician. However, they are not required to do so. In these cases, if an applicant is not vaccinated by the panel physician, he or she is not requesting exemption, but rather is simply choosing to receive them once he or she is in the United States. In this case, you should leave the DS 3025 blank. It may also be helpful to record that the applicant will be vaccinated in the US, but this is not required by CDC.

That seems a little in conflict with marking or not marking on the main medical form section 2 (above) because to me it is leaving the door open to mark it on the vaccination sheet unless the applicant says they are choosing to do their jabs in the US.

It is the CDC that needs to state that panel physicians can mark a K1 non-immigrant's form as meeting US requirements.

I'd pretty much guess this is what has happened? They've not even got to the DS3025 in the medical pack. Maybe Knightsbridge should annotate the wording on this form also.

Just a point on top of this: they won't sign off as complete as the K1 is a non-immigrant, I get that but if they examine you on form DS 2054 then that is surely an Immigrant medical form?

Just a nightmare confused situation between USCIS & Knightsbridge!

  6. We got a copy of the page 2..attached if anyone's interested..

I know Knightsbridge says they won't check it because it's "Immigrant" and K1 is non-immigrant, but doesnt CEAC also call K1 "immigrant" at that stage? I wish they could all come up with a standard... <_<

That is exactly the same page 2 as mine, so it seems like it's not something new that Knightsbridge are doing apart from giving the applicant a copy of page 2. I did my medical on 9th October last year.

  7. I got the expected response from Knighstbridge that they had complied with K1 non-immigrant policy which I agree with, apart from the issue with actually speaking to the nurse doing the shots who assured me it was all ok for AOS.

Anyway they included the full DS3025 (I was only given page 1 after the medical), page 2 was typed in a text box with "This K-non immigrant applicant did receive the required vaccines and the US vaccination requirements are complete for this applicant."

Wondering whether the IO has also not seen this?

  8. Also make sure you receive a page 2 (it's new) from Knightsbridge on your DS3025 copy, it'll say something about ''vaccinations being complete for US''.

Just a quick update on mine.... I got a response from Knightsbridge this morning regarding my RFIE, they attached the full DS3025 that was sent from them & it actually included a page 2 with that info stamped on it!

  9. Simon, I would for sure have done that!! However I paid cash at Knightsbridge but have emailed them to see if they want to explain their incompetence or their side of it anyway? I don't really want to rattle USCIS at this stage so won't ask them the same lol!

All points taken onboard - I've sent the details to my congressman and will see what happens. Have printed all the info that you guys have pitched in with and copied my vaccination sheet & RFIE? Like you say it may not do any good for me but it may educate my IO for the next person.

I got my EAD last week so at least I'm not waiting on that. I start work tomorrow at a hospital and the civil surgeons in the area are located at our sister hospital so that will hopefully make things easier? Plus any shots that were insufficient time have now been completed along with new TB tests.

I wonder if the "page 2 wording" that Knightsbridge have been adding recently will have any effect with USCIS?

Just for reference this was my DS3025……..

  10. Well I would love the opportunity to fight it if it was me, but you can just go to a civil surgeon and do as you said.

The reference in the USCIS Policy Manual says when results are left blank, they should look and see if you had the shots.

    F. Completion of the Results Section by the Civil Surgeon

According to the Vaccination Component of the Technical Instructions, the civil surgeon should mark the appropriate results box at the bottom of the vaccination assessment chart. The Technical Instructions direct the civil surgeon to only check one appropriate box.

The officer should be aware that civil surgeons may improperly mark the boxes because they may misunderstand the meaning of these boxes. Therefore, the officer should determine, from the vaccination assessment completed by the civil surgeon, whether the applicant received all vaccines, which blanket waivers should be granted, and whether the applicant requires any other waivers. The officer should exercise discretion in reviewing the vaccination chart and when evaluating the results boxes at the bottom of the vaccination assessment chart.

If the civil surgeon did not check any result boxes, the officer should only return the form for corrective action if he or she is unable to ascertain whether the applicant is admissible. The officer should never alter or complete sections on the medical examination report that are the responsibility of the civil surgeon, such as the results boxes.

    Reference page: https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume8-PartB-Chapter9.html

They have a list of required shots so look at the shots people and see that he has them!!

It is so annoying that Knightsbridge won't mark complete.

I'd love to fight it but was under the impression that an RFIE is final and you just have to suck it up and give them what they ask for?

Having re-read the letter it may be that the DS3025 was lost or not sent from Knightsbridge as it says one wasn't completed?

I have fired a stinking complaint email to Knightsbridge though as I paid them for all the shots and had this scenario conversation with them at the time!!

  11. Received my RFIE in the mail today……

    • The Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that you submitted is incomplete. We need additional medical information to complete your case.

You must get a vaccination certification from a USCIS Civil Surgeon and submit this to us. The Vaccination certification was not completed when you had your medical done with your K-1 visa. No results were marked.

So when I sent my AOS documents in a copy of my DS3025 was included - all shots that were required were done at Knightsbridge, all the waiver boxes were checked but the "completed" check box at the bottom was not checked.

As they are asking for the vaccination certification I'm assuming that I really need to send them an I-693 with parts 1, 2, 4 & 7 completed as it asks for on the vaccination sheet of the I-693?

Anyone else experienced this specific RFIE?

    Thanks……

  12. Email this morning to say that a letter has been mailed - Request For Evidence. Expected it to be for FURTHER evidence as I have had my EAD/AP card in hand for over a week now. Logged on to the USCIS case checker and it's showing a request for INITIAL evidence?

Seems weird that it's taken them so long to get round to going through the file AFTER approving EAD?

  13. Tricky one, I hung out till I felt I was about 3 weeks from anticipated EAD approval before applying.

I expected a bit of a slow process in the application processes so figured I'd have a few weeks before scoring any responses…. I applied for the ideal job at a local hospital that I could transfer over from the UK on a Thursday, got an interview invite on the Friday, interviewed on the Tuesday & was offered the job on the Wednesday!!

Currently in the process of background checks & references which should take the time to tie in with the EAD! I was open about the situation and timescale from the start with them (but I did tick YES on the authorized to work part on the application form). A lot of bigger companies/organizations seem to have seen this situation before by the sounds of it.

I'm over the 75 day point with the EAD so have opened an online case inquiry which was responded to within 24 hours so hopefully will move it on a bit??

  14. Thought I'd drop a thread in to see if anyone's still here following POE & waiting for AOS. What's everyone up to & how is the adjusting to life in the US going?

I arrived on 12th March, married on 8th April & filed AOS/EAD/AP at the beginning of May - NOA1 came in this week so we're in progress.

I think I'm adjusting quite well now, i had a major wobble the first weekend here where I wondered if I'd be able to adjust to being so far from the UK - that lasted for 2 days then it passed!

My son (17) & his girlfriend came out for a week for the wedding so spent a nice time with them showing them the sights.

Had no problems in the end getting my SSN & state ID (non-drivers license), I do have to redo my state ID though when the K1 90 days expires in June.

I've been to a job fair in the Downtown area which was really helpful ready for when I can start applying, they helped transfer my UK CV to resume format & advised on what the differences would be.

I have a monthly bus pass ($36) so I can travel anywhere in the local metro area, that's really helped to acclimatize me & there is a 2 mile walking trail literally minutes from the apartments.

I've had my first training session with the volunteer park rangers & have volunteered with the local soccer club on a match day collecting tickets.

Been exposed to some weird weather - tornado warnings the first weekend here & again this week, experienced the craziest thunderstorms & flash flooding!!

Lost power for over 12 hrs after a driver took out an energy pole & brought all the power lines down at the entrance to the apartments in the middle of the night! They ended up having to replace 5 poles!

Oh & not forgetting getting used to all the wonderful places to eat!

    So that's me so far………..

  15. I had the same dilemma a few months back. You're right that the adoption certificate replaces the birth certificate.... I did have a last minute panic & ordered an original pre-adoption birth certificate before my interview. I handed it in along with my adoption certificate. CO asked who it was on the birth certificate so I explained I was adopted.... no problems. If I hadn't taken it I don't know if it would've been asked for?

You can order your original BC with just a mothers name from the GRO website.

  16. Good to see new faces & old ones progressing through the system....

So far I've been here just over 3 weeks, got my social security card & State ID, my son & his girlfriend have arrived ready for the wedding this Friday ?

My State ID is only valid till the original 90 days expires then I have to go renew it again, they were pretty good & let me use my UK work photo ID as one of the proofs.

  17. I used SevenSeas Worldwide. They provided the boxes, tape & all necessary paperwork. Cost £380 for a 26kg box, 13kg box & my 27" iMac (dual power so useable in the US). Arrived 4 days after I did my POE with the boxes in good order! Did have to chase as they were held in customs for 24hrs but no real issues. Had to provide passport & visa scans for the paperwork when the boxes were collected in the uk.

  18. What's the deal with SSN's? the good lady called and was told we needed work papers.

Went in with my SSN application form, passport, BC for additional ID & I-94.... All good until the curse of the middle name struck!! Seems really common from searching on here that something to do with the database at POE puts first name & middle name as given name on the I-94. This then didn't match exactly & couldn't be completely added due to too many letters! They've sent it away for verification & should be about 4 weeks. No big issue at this stage, just hope it won't cause issues later on in the process??
