No she didn't. She gained citizenship under 319b. It wasn't required. Both are US Citizens.

My Stepdaughter came to the US as a K3 immigrant with my wife. Last year she received her citizenship when my wife naturalized under section 319b. My stepdaughter has a US Passport and we have entered the US with it (currently in South Korea). We have received a letter for her to remove conditions to change from a conditional to permanent resident. We are not in a financial position to file the N600 since the fees went up. I know the N600 for her is not necessary since she has a passport. Can we ignore the letter from the USCIS or should we send a letter showing the conversion to US Citizen?

Hi all,
I have the interview coming up in a week, they set it up in CA. I left CA a few months ago and also filed the AR-11 updating my address to WA.
1. Some of the questions ask "whats the capital of your state" etc,. what should I answer for such questions?!
2. will they say we cant interview you, you live in WA, get a new interview in WA?
thanks!
1: Answer the questions based on the interview location not where you live.
2: I don't see that happening.

Daisy had her citizenship interview today in Honolulu and passed!!!!! My wife and daughter will both become US Citizens Wednesday at the Oath ceremony!!! WOOHOO I am so proud of her.

Daisy had her interview today and passed without any major problems. I was called in because of questions about our "Hawaiian residence" as we are in from overseas and Daisy didn't have out hotel address and there was a question about my employment by the US Military. Her Oath is on wednesday the 10h and I have made her red in the new chart since I won't be on for the rest of the week. Below is the list of questions she was asked. Good luck everyone, your day will come.
Who is the governor of your state. Daisy started to answer Maggie Hassan (New Hampshire) but the IO moved on and didn't take off for an incorrect answer because she was expecting Hawaii and doesn't know the New Hampshire Governor.
What is one promise you make when you become a US Citizen?
Name two national US holidays.
Where is the statue of liberty?
What movement tried to end racial discrimination?
What did Martin Luther King Jr. do?
Who was the first President?
She was asked to read the question "Who lives in the white house?" then was asked to write "The President lives in the White House."
After that the IO went through the N-400.

I know most if not all are no longer watching this thread, but I wanted to post an update since we all started here.
Saturday we are off to Hawaii from South Korea for our first anniversary and Daisy's Naturalization interview. She can naturalize this fast because I am working for the US Government here in Kroea. Daisy's interview is monday and she is so nervous even though she is scoring over 90% consistently on the practice tests. I guess it's expected since this is her last big thing to do with Immigration. NO ROC!!!!! YAY!!! I'm praying that the interview is short and easy for her, but I am confident in her ability to get through it.
We are taking my parents to Hawaii with us for their 50th wedding anniversary also. Next week is going to be a great week for the Ricciotti clan.
I'll update you all when she is done.

INA 319(b) Expeditious Naturalization only waives the US residency requirement and does not speed up the process. Sorry. I am quite familiar with INA 319(b) and it won't get you what you want.
What you can do is if you have travel within 2 or 4 weeks, receive your passport in 1-20 days depending on the travel dates. For instance, if you have a departure of Friday and you apply today (Wednesday) you can get your passport tomorrow when applying directly at the nearest Passport Office.
-
For Filipinos who may be asking the same question...
As I recall, when a Filipino gets USC they can apply to the Philippines for dual citizenship (without affecting their USC), and regain whatever privileges are afforded to Filipino citizens. I'm not sure but I think this includes voting and ownership of property/firearms.
DJ
You are correct regarding all rights as a Filipino including voting and property ownership rights being restored. It's a simple form and a $50.00 payment to the nearest consulate, wait 6-8 weeks (I think) and you are good to go to obtain a new Philippine passport.
-
Most likely Weekday during the day. I cannot see them doing an administrative or judicial oath when the offices are closed. But, the best place to get the correct answer is the Boston Field Office.
-
And yours was IOE#?
No, ours isn't. It is normal for no updates after biometrics. We just received her interview letter for August 8. Updating the chart now.

I do have an IOE number as well and nothing since May 17th. I wonder why IOEs are taking a long time getting interviews.
We heard noting on my wifes 319b packet from the date we sent in the package other than "It was accepted" on the I797. This was mid April. We just received notice about 10 days ago that her interview was scheduled. I think there is a slow down in the investigation piece.

I had my interview this morning at Federal Plaza, New York City. The officer tested me on civics, history & English and verbally verified everything in the application. Eventually, he gave me a form indicating that I had passed all the tests and that my application was recommended for approval.
Congrats!!! What questions did they ask you?
-
That means that you are actually scheduled and they are mailing you the letter with the date of the interview with directions and instructions. You should get the letter in about 1-2 weeks usually. Good luck to you !
Extended by a week for being at a military base in korea. I hope they didn't schedule with the typical 4-5 week lead and accounted for the long mail delivery time.. LOL

I received an update today. I am in line for my oath ceremony.
Congrats!!!!!

So, according to the online system, on July 7 Daisy was scheduled for an interview. I received her email today does this mean actually scheduled or just "inline"? One part says scheduled one says inline.:
Your Case Status: Testing and Interview
On July 7, 2016, we scheduled an interview for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION, Receipt Number NBC*000000000. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived). -
Good luck to you!
Thanks
I agree with you. My application was received and processed for biometrics almost the same or close to others but when it moved to my local office, everything moved very quickly. I have almost the same timeline as those 3 people I've read here who were processed in Memphis last year and early this year. I'll be taking oath by the end of this month.
Maybe because my local office isn't as busy as others. Also I'm already eligible to apply in 2014 thri 3yr marriage rule but waited till this April. That's only my guess.
319(b) here also, but not military based. I was actually hoping Honolulu would have taken a little more time.
That's what I thought too. Their office was almost empty when I went for biometrics and half full when I did my interview. They are not as busy as those cities you mentioned.
Yes, that search function is helpful and reminds me that I should update my timeline. Lol
Hi guys, I did my bio matric on 5/17 haven't heard anything since then. I applied under three years rule. Anyone in the same boat?
We are on the exact same boat. Nothing since May 17
Hoping for any good news soon.
The investigations are taking a little longer than normal it seems. We send on April 12 and since we included fingerprint cards we heard nothing until the other day when we saw online that Daisy was scheduled for her interview. Things will move and it should be soon for everyone.
-
Thank you for your reply! So you didn't send any fingerprint cards with the first package? Did they contact you later tell you to do it?
I completely forgot about the fingerprint cards. If you are stationed at a Military base, check with the local DBIDS/ID Card office, they will know where to get them done. But, yes, include fingerprint cards sufficient for an FBI Background check (I forget the form number). It's usually a walk-in to get that done. But, yes you need to include them or they will send your package back to you.
But, if you are stateside, do not include the fingerprint card. They will schedule you for a biometrics appointment.

Hi Tony and Daisy! Congratulations! I am just assembling the paperwork to file under 319b. My spouse is a DOD civilian stationed abroad. What documents did you include?
Would be -marriage certificate
-OTEX,
-oders (with my name listed)
-written statement that I will return to reside with my spouse enough in addition to the general documents that they require? And if you did fingerprints together with n-400 in the same packet or did you wait for them to contact you? I thought that tax reports are not needed at all as the requirements to prove that you have lived together is waived under this section.
Would love to hear more details how it went for you!
Here is the manual for the search engines too:
https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume12-PartG-Chapter4.html#footnote-15
"The spouse of a U.S. citizen employed abroad is not required to have lived in marital union with his or her citizen spouse. [9] The spouse only needs to show that he or she is in a legally valid marriage with a U.S. citizen from the date of filing the application until the time of the Oath of Allegiance."
With the package, send a copy of:
Marriage license
Green Card
Passport for both of you
Divorce decrees (if it applies)
Tax returns if you have them filed together (I included 3 years even though Daisy wasn't on 2013 and 2014)
Orders with her name on them
If a contractor, a letter from the company stating you are stationed overseas and your expected length of deployment (especially if your orders are updated annually like mine are)
Original of two passport style photographs
If you have children that are minors, the same for all of them.
Daisy just received notice of her interview, we are waiting for the letter with the date in it.
She is doing hers in Honolulu.

My wifes interview has just been scheduled. She filed under INA 319b marriage to a USC regularly stationed overseas with the US Government, so it is marriage based. Going over the documents related to me that she should bring, I see it says Original and photocopy of divorce decrees. I have an original of my latest divorce but only a copy of the one prior to that. It takes Los Angeles County Archives (place of that divorce) up to 120 days so we don't have time for that. Anyone with experience about divorce decrees for this interview?

Just got notice through the website that Daisy was scheduled for interview. No "In-Line" nothing haha. The letter will take about 7 days to get here so we don't know when. We hope it's after August 15, but we will see. Happy to have it scheduled, but it will be about a month earlier than expected and hoped for. LOL
-
woop it was in the mail just later than they said they have delivered it ...foolies lol
That's great!!!! I hope the USPS doesn't lose it.
Congrats on this part of your journey complete. Isn't your husband stationed overseas now?
-
well they lost my greencard twice I need to call the national immigration again
WOW, that's just craziness. Are they being nice about it?
-
Background investigations are going slow right now for some reason (possibly the refugee status?). This is working well for us, but I hope it completes in about a month.

Simple rule of thumb.... Bring a copy/original (if available) of EVERYTHING you submitted in the N400 packet PLUS anything they list on the interview letter PLUS anything else you can think of that will strengthen your case. Chances are nothing more than what's on the letter will be requested at the interview, but it's better ot be over-prepared than to be missing something.
