  1. Scan Date (EP): Feb 20th 2015

Checklist Email Rcvd: April 9th 2015 (Original Birth Certificate )

Checklist Response Email Sent : April 10th 2015

So new scan date: April 10th 2015???

now wait again for 60+ days for case complete? or will it be sooner?

I called NVC to confirm if everything else other than birth-certificate has been reviewed or not, rep said everything else looks good.

Thank You for your efforts for logging and maintaining this data.

    Regards,

    VJ Fan

We received checklist for birth cert as well. My last scan date for that was March 10 and still nothing-others with scan dates after are getting cc's. I had hoped that it would be reviewed sooner since it was just that form and everything else was ok but that has not been the case. NVC seems pretty random though so don't lose hope-it could be quick!

  2. Could you add me to the spreadsheet please? My last scan date was March 10 (had to resend birth cert).

I did get an email April 1 that they had received an email from me Feb 11 and would need 60 days to review (even though the email is no longer relevant as I had spoken to a supervisor after) but I am hoping and assuming my scan date is still March 10.

Big congrats to those finally moving on in the process-it is becoming agonizing and I hope that the rest of us can join you soon

  3. OMG I just received an email from NVC that they received my email from Feb 11, 2015. It then stated they needed 60 days from now to review it-but this email is obsolete now-I have already talked to a supervisor and resent a new birth certificate which was scanned March 10. Does this now mean my new scan date is today since I got that email??

PS many congrats to all of those getting their CC's, it is encouraging although it feels like this will never be done. Good luck to those waiting still-may this week brings toooooons of CC's!

  4. What I see, is that is missing the notary signature. Take a look at mine's, there is the signature over the seal of the notary.

Thanks for your example-I will send it to my husband. It looked to me like the signature was above the name of the director who issued the documents-but I have to admit yours looks much more official-and many more stamps!

I don't understand the difference in Colombia between "notaria primera, segunda, tercera, etc" but he will just take it to a notary and we will have to wait our 60 days again:(

Good luck I hope you get your CC this week!! Thanks again

  5. Hi, I'm from Colombia. We sent the same, a photocopy of the "copia del folio", it has the seal and signed by the notary. We are waiting for CC this week, scan date 12/30/2014. We haven't received any checklist.

The seal on his copia del folio states "Es fiel y exacta copia de su original que resosa en el archivo historico de cartagena, tomada de seccion:notaria tercera.. Serie....tomo... consta de __hojas. then it's signed by the director. (i attached a scan of the seal for you to see)

It looks like it needs to be authenticated according to the info I found below....although I think different jurisdictions do it differently-hopefully the one you got had the proper signature/seal. So sad! It was the original with the stamp from the "issuing authority" as requested...the directions on the NVC site/reciprocity info never mentioned it should be "autenticado". But like I said I think many places that issue them in Colombia do issue it from the notaria that they require....you should be ok.

  6. Any filers from Colombia? We received a checklist for my husbands birth certificate...I called they said they didn't have it.....overnighted another copy and requested supervisor review....3 weeks later (today) I received a phone call from NVC.

She said the birth certificate needed to have signature of a notary public.

The birth certificate was an official "copia de folio" stating the page the copy was from, stating "notaria tercera" and signed by the issuing authority. I don't understand why this isn't valid after looking again at the checklist, and country reciprocity information.

Any Colombians (or others) have any insight?

  7. This is my second checklist thanks to NVC! They are requesting forms we already sent them from the beggining.. they want another original i864 ( we sent first time for my sponsor husband) the first checklist they wanted i864A for my Sponsors Husband and now they want the original i864 we sent in october  are these people anymore confused or what!? They have everything! Lol

Oh no I am so sorry. What a nightmare-how can they even do that! Too bad our files don't go to a specific case manager that we could then communicate with and trouble shoot if necessary. I just imagine our files being passed around and papers flying everywhere-nooooooo!

Sorry they lost your documents, it's quite common.

At least you know hopefully they won't give you any trouble for AOS.

Good question, anyone know how much time are supervisor reviews taking these days?

Yes, to be positive I also thought that-at least everything else was ok? A BC copy seems to be a simple fix. But I am terrified that the problem is actually something else that they will notify me of in 60 days, or that they will lose something else in the meantime!

  8. Does anyone know about supervisor reviews? I wonder how long that will take :clock: they say 42 days. Rep said maybe within a week but can take up to 42 days.. hoping for a miracle.. been here too long

I got a checklist this week for my husbands birth certificate-I had included the original received at the registry and a photocopy at the end of all the documents. How they managed to lose both of these but nothing else I will never understand. I called and the rep told me she would put in for a supervisor review and that it was 42 days-I tried to get more info but she stuck to 42 days. I too am hoping someone can give us some hope that it will take less time? I sent in a copy of the document anyway in case they do not find it.

Congrats to all with CC's and best of luck to all of us still waiting! I feel especially terrible for those I have read that got 2 checklists-that is just too much to handle.

  9. Scan date Dec 9, checklist for birth certificate Feb 10.

I spoke to NVC just now. She stated they did not receive the birth certificate of my husband in the package and that she will put in for a supervisor review (42 days for this). Unbelievable since it was in the package of course.

Question now is, can I send photocopy of document now even though a supervisor review was requested? Or will that mess up the process. I can't imagine waiting another 42 days to hear that "no we still don't have it" and then have to wait 60 days more.

Anyone have an experience like this-what happened what did you do?

    Thanks for any advice

  10. Dec. 9 scan date and just got a checklist......I am confused I sent an original copy of my husbands birth certificate-the back had the stamp and signature of the issuing authorities director. I tried to call but can't get through now. Any insight? Can't believe this:(
