  1. WOW! :-) Amazing! Mine just updated to Administrative Processing too! :-) I just checked it now when I got your response here :-) Ooohhh... I am excited to get to see it on "Issued"

Yipee! Well I'm thanking the user who notified me on PM about her case updating to AP as well. I was already sure I wouldn't get an update today until I got her message haha

Looks like we are all on the same batch, if there's such a thing. Nevertheless, hope we all get issued this week! :dancing:

  2. As they say here in VJ, your record was "touched" or was updated, there was a movement... Ours was stuck in "ready" but got updated for 5 days (feb 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6) and on by EOD of the 5th day, it changed to "issued".... our joy is not yet complete though as status is still "issued" as of today... no update neither in ustraveldocs... just hold on... :)

    Cheers!

Oh okay. Well at least there's movement! Haha thank you :)

So you never went through AP?

  3. They don't always say if you're approved or not. In my case though, the CO told me that I was approved. Even at the releasing counter I was told that I was approved and that I just need to wait for my visa to be delivered.

Had my interview last Jan 29 and my CEAC status is still "ready". Patience is a virtue indeed.

  4. This is the first time I heard someone being asked of NVC or USEM letter with MNL # for K1 visa...very unusual. The embassy people just asked for DS-160 and appointment letter to get inside the embassy. Upon entry to the embassy, you'll get a queue number....the appointment letter will be dropped into window 38 and the DS-160(together with your assigned queue number) will stay with you until step 5. Then step 2 would be to prep all the required documents.

But I agree that to be over prepared is better than getting a 221g. But NVC letter with MNL # should be send to you anytime soon...if not call or email.

By first step i mean the biometrics. I know, it was weird that they asked it from me and that scanned NVC letter saved me haha!

Also, I am already almost done with the process and I still haven't receive the USEM letter. I don't think it's ever gonna arrive lol

  5. The NVC MNL letter is not required at the USEM interview. I went to my fiancee's interview this past January. Fiancée needs DS-160 confirmation page (not the questions and answers), her passport and her USEM interview appointment confirmation letter all to enter the USEM. Then fiancée needs to have all the documents detailed in the instructions for the interview.

In my case, i was asked for the USEM letter (which I did not have) so they can double check the case number. Since I didn't have that letter, I just gave them the scanned NVC letter that my fiance emailed me and he just said it'll do.

So even if the NVC letter isn't required, I think it's best to have it with you just in case :)

  6. I would suggest to call NVC and check if they have forwarded your petition to USEM...if they have, best to wait for a week or two..maybe three. And you can show the CEAC status that states "Ready" in SLEC during medical but the letter would probably be on your way soon. When did you received your NOA2? We got MNL # after ~3 weeks of NOA2.

And the letter with MNL # is not a requirement during interview, and I wasn't asked for it during my interview neither.

I think it's best to prepare the MNL# for the interview as the USEM may or may not ask for it. See, I was asked for it during the first step of the interview. Some people weren't.

Better to be over prepared than sorry ;)

  7. Hi everyone. My fiancé called nvc and got manila case number two days ago. And now we are preparing requirements for the medical exam. I saw in this link http://www.slec.ph/us-visa-applicants.shtml#additional-requirementsthat one of their requirement is the letter of case number. My fiancé haven't get letter of case number but got manila case number and invoice ID on the phone. I have the requirements except for the letter of case number. Should we wait letter of case number to arrive before to go medical exam?

I did research but mostly of them have letter of case number. Btw I did not schedule visa interview appointment yet. The letter of case number is important to bring with me on the interview?

I would like to be sure that I have the required documents with me before going to medical exam because I'm living Cebu.

Thank you so much in advance to all of you guys. Any advice and suggestions will be appreciated. God bless.

Your fiance should be getting the NVC letter soon but if you want you can email NVC and ask for a confirmation of your case number. You can print this out and show SLEC:

    NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

    • SUBJECT: [uSCIS Receipt Number]
    • BODY: Petitioner’s Full Name and Birthdate; Applicant’s Full Name and Birthdate

Some people got away with the "i got my case number via phone call" but i'm not sure if that works for everyone.

I also suggest scheduling your visa interview before your medical appointment as SLEC will be asking for your visa interview appointment letter.

For the interview, i just brought a scanned copy of the NVC letter. My fiance just scanned it and emailed it to me.

    Goodluck with everything :)

  8. Hi everyone. For Fiancee Visa once I-129F is approved and sent to Manila, how long are you guys waiting to hear from Manila about case?

Manila will sent us notification when they receive our case?

It is now 54 days since I-129F approved.

We emailed NVC and Manila but we haven't heard from them.

Thank you so much in advance.

I am already almost done with everything and I have not received the USEM letter. I may not receive it ever! Haha. What I did was I just asked my fiance to scan the NOA 2 and NVC letter (documents which have your MNL case number on it) and send to me - this is what I showed both SLEC and the USEM. :)

Just go and proceed. You already waited too long. As long as you have your case number, you're good to go.

  9. This is what I learned here on VJ about the K1 process, please correct me if I'm wrong:

    • 1-2 weeks after NOA2, call NVC until they give you your MNL case number
    • then the beneficiary can proceed to pay the fee at BPI (without waiting for an NVC letter or Packet 3, because they may never come)
    • then schedule the USEM interview appointment
    • then register at SLEC site and go to medical interview
    • go to USEM interview (also without NVC letter/Packet 3)
    • if approved, wait for visa, then go to CFO seminar before leaving the Philippines

    Questions:

    1. Without the NVC letter, how do we show the MNL case number at BPI and SLEC? Just the number written on a piece of paper (together with her passport of course)?
    2. Why do people schedule the USEM interview before doing the medical? I read there's a chance you might get delayed a few months if the beneficiary needs a sputum test. It seems better to me if she schedules with USEM after she passes her medical instead.
    3. How long does the CFO take? Some say they do it early then go back later to get the sticker added to the visa. Just seems inefficient to go there twice, unless the seminar takes the whole day.

    1. Any document with your MNL case number will do. I brought a scanned copy of the NOA2 and NVC letter that was mailed to my fiance. For SLEC, a lot of people got away with the spiel "I got my case number over the phone" but I'm not sure that works for everyone.

    2. It's best to schedule your interview after the medical because of course, you would want to come to your interview with ALL your documents and that includes the medical exam results. Or else, you would get a 221G and that delays your case.

    3. CFO takes about a half day. I would suggest doing it when you have your visa on hand because yes, it is inefficient to go there twice.

  10. Hey there!

I had my interview last Jan 29 and got approved on the same day. I was not asked for the Affidavit of Support as well. At first I was worried but I found out that a number of applicants weren't asked for it too.

I am also stuck at 'READY'. Seems like the process is slowing down now for some reason. But I really hope we get it soon!

Let me know when your get your visa! Would be really relieving to know it won't take more than a month. Haha.

    Thanks! :)
