  1. We moved in November while awaiting condition removal (marriage-based). Got notice that conditions were removed for my wife and step-daughter, which was forwarded to the new address despite the fact that I had changed the address online. My wife got her green card with my step-daughter's picture and all my wife's name and correct info, and my step-daughter (age 11) never got her card. Wife's card was sent to the wrong address, but forwarded by post office. Now what to do?

Also, I understand this may take a long time.

1.) Can we get passport stamps while waiting?

2.)  I am also worried if we just file a never received card for my step-daughter it will show up with my wife's picture.

3.) How to get them to send to the right address, despite changing it months ago.

4.) What forms to fill out for replacement of a.) the wrong image b.) the card that never showed up.

  2. I am USC, wife has 2-year green card. Her daughter is 10 and lives with us and has 2--year marriage based green card as well. We want her mom and dad to visit from China for 3 months.

I really have no idea what the tourist visa process is, my wife seems to think if he is 70 + he will not get approved (I think that can't possibly be true). I have been to China several times, I speak Chinese, and we have a great son-in-law/parent relationship.

I am happy to provide an affidavit of support or something and buy temporary insurance or whatever they need. It would be great to have them, we own a home with plenty of space for them. I am self-employed as a licensed professional.

Her father is retired - mother was always a homemaker. They own a small condo in China, he has his retirement.  I have plenty of money to support them during their stay.

What do I need to do to get this going so they can come hang out here during the cold Chinese winter, since we live where its warm and sunny!

  3. Had our AOS interview after filing marriage-based i-485.  All went well until the officer asked if she had withdrawn the asylum request i-589. We affirmed it was withdrawn.

    Today got RFE saying:

"USCIS records show you have a pending i-589, Application for Asylum and for Withholding of Removal. You stated you have withdrawn Form i-589. Please submit documentation to establish your withdrawal of Form i-589"

It was our understanding that the attorney we used filed the i-485 along with a letter asking for withdrawal of the i-589. Apparently, the i-589 was not yet withdrawn even though we both believed it was. Of course, all this happens on a Friday night. But our attorney has never impressed me.

What is going to happen now? Can the i-589 be withdrawn now and satisfy the requirement?  We are looked through everything we have and we do not even have the asylum case number, nor any proof it was withdrawn. I think the atty didn;'t do it correctly.

Otherwise, the interview went fine, we had lots of documentation. We have been married for 16 months.

    Any help?

  4. You can speak English forever and live in Holland. I dated a girl in Holland for a while...

In the other thread all of the info was available becasue the person was not a USC.

I am unsure of how or why the embassy would know anything about your X and his living situation. After all the k-1 and g-325 just ask when you were married and divorced, not details of the quality of that relationship after the divorce...

  5. So we now have the letter from NVC with a case# MNL*******

My fiance wants to pay a "docuement Verification Fee" becasue she says it needs to paid asap.

She also wants to know what bank to pay it at. Her bank in BDO in Davao.

So how does she go about paying this.

She also lived in hong kong and had a hong kong ID. She needs to get police certification from Ha=ing King, and as I understand it that takes a while.... Even though she is yet to recieve any correspondence, she will soon I imagine.

Should she be working paying this doc verificaiton fee now and getting he police report now form hong kong since we have the MNL#

  6. 1.) I figured out how to update timeline. Thanx.

2.) Actually yeserday I got a "letter" saying it was approved and would be sent to embassy.

Today, I got the I-797 or whatever, and it was dated the 13th...

3.) They never sent me an email, even though I have been through this with the same person last year and have been a "member" of the USCIS wesbite for a long time. Last year I filed at CSC and got the email, this year at VSC it took twice as long and still no email and no update to the webpage...

(For those who are curious, we had an omission in the original documents and were advised to refile to avoid complications at the interview)

Peace to all, looks like the wheels are finally turning.... Those still waiting, it will show up! Just keep on skying, loving and waiting.... it's all good in the end.

(And to think I have lasted through this twice! LOL)

  7. So the long wait is over. We thought VSC passed us by for our 129f. They seemed to have passed us by while processing people even into February. But finally in to days mail, dated 5-18-2009 approval. YAY....

We are on Igor's list, but how do I update timeline? I tried to figure it out but couldn't, so its says we are still waiting and I want others to know that even if they have been waiting, don't give up, eventually they will remember your file.... Took 5 and a half months.....

  9. Contact your congressman, that is what they are for. They may provide special assistance, especially with the armed forces service. Be relentless in having them assist you. Also contact your senators office but they will be less helpful unless you are lucky enought to have one that is running for president! I doubt you will get a refund, but maybe soacial handleing or a waiver or a special law just for you if you are persistent.

  10. I was in Davao this week, so I gave my fiance a complete packet of what I sent the embassy for the i-129f and everything. I also noticed I forgot to sing my bigraphical data form. Hers were signed when submitted. I actually think I may have signed them after I made the photopies but I am not sure...

So now I am thinking there is a possibility I sent them without my signature. What to do in this situation now?

  11. We did go to Dahecan beach at to Masoa (spelling?) and I took lots of pictures of the Sleeping dino island! I am planning to head back again in July, will do a lot more exploring then. Had to get my feet wet first! Best to you and the kids and Mr. Bear!

  12. Well, I spend one night in Davao, one night in Mati and two nights at Pearl Farm. All were awesome. It was great to meet her family in Mati. Mati was a quiet city, stayed at a hotel called "Honeys" and it was OK. Pearl Farm is awesome (I am finishing breakfast here now) and Davao had a great music festival the first night, and Marco Polo was really nice. I felt safe, had fun, enjoyed my trip perhaps even more than Cebu, and will return to Davao and even Mati and Dehican Beach anytime my lovely lady wants to return. In fact, wish I spent two days in Mati - the people were great, the Lechon was yummy and the beauty magnificant.

Dont feat Mindanao! Davao was awesome and great beaches!

Dont fear Mindanao! Davao was awesome and great beaches!

  13. I am going to Davao and Samal Island (Pearl Farm) on this next trip, but also to an overnight stay in Mati City (to meet Mom). Of course I have heard the fearmongering regarding Mindanao (doesn't seem to apply to Davao and Davao Oriental?).

But since I can find little about Mati City online, can anyone give me any info on what the three hour van ride and the city is like? Any issues for americans traveling to Mati since the State Dept. says travel to Mindanao is "dangerous". I guess I am a little aprehensive about this trip. Mom seems nice, I have talked to her on the phone, shes planning a big breakfast! I am staying overnight but not at her house (my gf says its small and has no a/c) so we are staying at a motel where my gf says she knows the manager... Of course, I can find no motels in Mati on Hotels.com so I wonder what this will be like...

    Leaving on Monday! YAY

(Have never been to Mindanao, we have met in Cebu and Manila, so this will be my first trip to her home.)

    Thanx....

  15. No such form required by the USA. (Unless the girl is under 18, and an individual state requires parental consent)

And although I really have no idea about Germany (other than being there a few times), I doubt for an adult they require such a form either, unless it is a young person. A lot of miscommunication regarding what is required, and I think is probaly a good example of something nobody acutually requires for an adult (but I can se some church making it a requirement, or again, marriage of a person under the age of majority)....
