If IO was so clear about decisions even though verbally, should't be a problem. I wouldn't stress on it too much. Anyways, good luck and do post when you get oath.

you said you'd have to leave the country for ever if this doesn't work. why so? coz you can actually marry her and get her here.

ndprulx got a reaction from Vish.j in DS-261 and AOS fees paid. whats next?
Photocopies are ok, and you dont need to wait to make IV fee payment to send AOS+IV package. Use the bar coded cover sheet from AOS payment to use for both AOS and IV package, one for each. And yes wait for PCC and send it all together coz sending in separate will delay your case even further as they will issue checklist once they dont find PCC in your package. To get the IV fee bill, call them, explain them you've already paid AOS and waiting for IV fee bill to appear, talk politely, they'll activate it online and u'll be able to pay it in next day or two. I did the same just a week ago. So hope this helps.

ndprulx got a reaction from medgomaa in Staying outside US more than 6 months
the point to prove is if usa is your domicile. if any questions directed to you at immigration check point will be to see if you have maintained enough connection to call usa your permanent residence. Travel of less than 6 months have been a problem as well depending on cases. more than 6 months to 1 year will be treated as a potential abandonment and you very well may risk loosing your greencard. although its already late now, but for next time, if you have to visit more than 6 months or even for travel less than 2 years, you need to apply for re-entry permit. First time i came to usa, i stayed here for 28 days, and returned after 15 months with a re-entry permit. So if anything, the plan that you talked about your husband returning early and you following later is the best option, and make sure your husband has firm reasons why he stayed outside for so long so soon of coming to usa. Good luck.
