  1. Question about the medical:

We have our medical scheduled for a few weeks from now.

I understand my fiance should be bringing medical history with her...but I'm wondering how in depth:

    She is originally from Brazil:

Obviously we have vaccinations records, which were created in Brazil (have them translated?)

What other records would we need?

    Records of minor surgeries/doctor's visits?

Its difficult to keep track of all doctor hospital visits when one moves around the world so much....

I dont even know if she has anything similar to a consolidated medical history document.

She has never had anything major done.

    What do you think?

Do we nneed to inquire for some sort of documents from every doctor in UK visited even for minor visits?

She usually goes to public health centers, so is not like one doctor has a solid history on her....

  2. Not sure if I should post this question here or not...but...

    2 quick questions:

the I-134 and supporting documents...that doesnt get sent back with packet 3 does it???

I thought it went only with my fiance to the interview.

    the other question:

My fiance messed up a bit, and sent the DS 230, and 156's with photos together, and then sent the checklist back separately...is that going to be a problem...any ideas?

We have completed copies of everything to bring to interview regardless....

  3. Yeah...we have copies of all the forms (DS230, the 156's)

And I'll be sending my I-134, and copy of petition, all evidence etc.

So I think we are good.

As long as they can link up the first batch with the checklist sent separately...ahhhhh!!!!

But only a day apart so hopefully wont be a problem.

Anyone have any suggestions on BEST contact for UK embasssy?

The site here says email is best, and I have : LondonConsulate@state.gov for an addy.

I would like my fiance to contact them to ensure the two mailings meet up....

  4. We have already applied for the police...the 40 days would get it to us on September 14th (3 weeks)...so we should be safe on that.

She is sending the checklist back separately tomorrow am...so they two deliveries should be only a day apart. I'll have her write an email to the consulate though just to give them a heads up perhaps so they dont send anything back.

Just to be sure...she WAS suppose to send back the DS 230, 156, all that right? But should have included the checklist as well? Thats basically the only Packet 3 thing she had left after mailing it!

Ahh....and i TOLD her that the checklist had to be signed and sent back!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Hi...question...

So my fiance made a mistake and sent the DS230, 156, 156K...all those forms to the consulate and not the signed checklist.

She is going to send the checklist tomorrow separate.

Any possiblity this will be a problem?

Ahh...wish I could be there to oversee all this!!!!! ;)

On a separate note, can she schedule her medical for anytime, even though she doesnt have the interview date yet? For example...if she were able to get an appointment next week...is that ok? Or does she need to wait for Packet 4?

Ah...its so confusing for me because I am not there to see the forms and she seems to be infinitely confused on her own...trying to walk her through this without error....

  6. I'll be watching this board closely for those of you have returned Packet 3 already.

I am concerned, cuz I want to return our Packet 3 as soon as possible, but we only applied for our police record one week ago. Its hard to judge how fast they will schedule K1 interviews now after the lapse in NOA2 being transfered the last few months. Everything after the NOA2 for us so far has been flying along at speeds I didnt expect, and which seemed to take longer in the past...(ie...2 days for NVC to get AND send to conuslate after NOA2....Packet 3 arrived in 10 days after NOA2)...

...makes me really excited, but again...concerned abou this police report not showing up in time if I respond too quickly with the checklist signed...

    ...any thoughts?

  7. Has anyone actually had any experience with going to the interview WITHOUT the police record?

We have already filed for it, last week...but since everything has been moving so quickly now, I'm just concerned that there actually could be a possibiliy if we sent back Packet 3 (which we got today) right away, say monday, that the interview could happen before the police record arrived.

What would happen in that situation?

  8. Hey...so my fiance got Packet 3 from London consulate.

She had only briefly looked it over when we spoke on the phone last but she mentioned something from the checklist about a court record?

I've never heard of that...any idea what it means?

Police record is obvious, we are getting that. she didnt have it in front of her, so i wasnt able to confirm if it said court record AND police record, or if thats what they ultimately meant by court record.

    any ideas??

we are going through London consulate.

  9. Hi-

So I am going to request a copy of my tax returns from the IRS.

The only problem is...it says for actual returns, you need to allow 60 calender days to recieve them!

I dont even know if that will be enough time since the embassy already has our papers and I would hate to have them schedule an interview if we didnt have em!

Does anyone know..do you need an actual copy of the return? or can you submit a transcript or tax account transcript? This would make a huuuuuuuge difference in the amount of time it took to get em!

    The IRS website says:

"These transcripts may be acceptable substitutes for an actual copy of the return by the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and lending agencies for student loans and mortgages. Check with your agency or lender to be sure".

But without having Packet 3 yet, I dont know for sure.

We are going through London embassy.

  10. Hi..i have a quick question on notary.

Our papers have been sent to the foriegn consulate, but we have not yet gotten Packet 3 or the official NVC snail mail letter...but i want to get started on the affidavit of support.

I am probablyy going to provide bank statement of savings, and income tax records as I am self employed and dont get a weekly paycheck or a specific employer per say to write a letter.

I know the bank can notorize my bank statement...

But as for the income tax return, and perhaps any documents of assests...do they have to be notorized?

My income tax are just like online printed records and such...

    ...any info would be helpful!

  11. Even though I got my NOA 1 by some stroke of luck earlier this week, I'm keeping on this particular branch of the forum for awhile because I want to see all of you get your approvals.

Especially to those March and recall petitions (sorry April folks, gotta route for them first), I am hoping for you for what its worth. Its interesting because even though things have changed for my fiance and I a bit in the process, I feel something of a collective anger with you guys for this absolute garbage of watching June and July petitions get approved before you (and us previous to monday). I dont even know what to suggest anymore. Its a tight community we are running here, and its sometimes jarring to think how far apart we are geographically, but I can imagine a collective 'late NOA2' VJ gathering to the shooting range would have been a welcomed outing several times over now!

At any rate, for what its worth, I'm routing for you guys, and hoping to see your vindicated posts very very soon!

  12. I know that when our NOA2 letter comes in the mail, there will be some instructions, but I was wondering:

Will updates based on the petition being sent to and/or recieved by NVC still show up on the USCIS online login page as touches?, or are we pretty much done with that site for now....only contacting NVC and then the embassy directly?

  13. We have applied for the necessary Police record from the UK, which has a statuatory 40 day time frame to recieve. My question is, do you need to send the record back with Packet 3, to have the interview scheduled, or do you bring the police record with you to the interview? A 40 day wait for the record could mean a considerable delay in getting packet 3 returned.....

I just had a look at some of the guides here on Visa Journey again...

    ...correct me if I'm wrong...

...so we'd probably have to sign the checklist in Packet 3 that listed the police record, but we dont send it...we bring it to the interview? That would be good news cuz we wouldnt have to wait for the record to come to get the interview date set....

  14. We were fortunate to get our approval yesterday, but we have been waiting 132 days!!!

I would never wish that upon anyone, but please be patient and understanding...there are so many of us that are a quarter year or more into the process and not closer than yourself.

This is definately the place to vent, but have a look at other's posts and timelines...you'll see the pattern of unfairness that USCIS has unleased. Remember that the wave of approvals are not typical...its catchup for months and months of halted processing for those who filed as early as March, and in some cases earlier. Please recognize those folks and follow their progress with an open mind. You will get there in due time.

    Best of luck to you.

  15. I think denials are rare because K-1 visas are used mainly by rich USCs. So they often get approved. Dont get me started on the bias for rich peeps in the US...Mel Gibson style.

Anyone rich enough to import a spouse is rich if you ask me. Ordinary folk are lucky to own anything imported, let alone a spouse!

I doubt you´ll see denials in a forum where people are seem so true about their intentions. Any phony would end up leaving after all our cries of TROLL!!! and we wouldn´t see their denials. :P

    Are you kidding?

First, you dont IMPORT a spouse let alone OWN one!!!! What kind of person are you!!??.

Second, you have to make 25% more than the basic poverty line to qulify..that is far from rich. Fees are nominal compared to grocery shopping and gas. The rich get in on business visas, not K1's which should be for noone but those who have established and honest relationships, as VJers clearly demonstrate. I agree, denials are probably rare...those folks just overstay other types of visas, or they are probably not on a forum like this.

But money? You are barking to the wrong crowd. Not an issue here...dont make it one.

  16. I'm thinking you should be coming up soon.

It seems that the batch that just got approval after that couple days lull were almost all 7/5-7/6 RFE return receipts. The first batch was weird mix of early RFE's and total random June NOA1's.

Not that any light has ever been shed on why RFE's went out the way they did, but since you are a 7/7 RFE, I would expect you would be coming up next in line!

Best of luck to you. The journey will all be worth it in the end!
