  1. I am petitioning both my parents to us.

    First, thanks to this post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/506306-guangzhou-approved-the-expediate-request-how-long-will-it-take-nvc-to-transfer-the-case-to-guangzhou/. I followed the steps on the post and here is where i am.

    I am doing expedited email processing(EP) for Guangzhou.

    4/15: Guangzhou approved my expedited requests on 4/15

    4/17: i called NVC and they forwarded both my parents casefile to guangzhou electrically on 4/17.

    4/19: I sent request to guangzhou using Immigrant Visa Unit Inquiry Form on 4/19 asked them to retrieve my parents casefile from SAFEFILE and start the internal processing as soon as possible. And asked for an interview date hopefully in April.

    4/20: Here is what I got from Guangzhou IV just now. And when I check on CEAC, their case status is "Administrative Processing"

    "Please note your father's visa application is currently under pre-interview processing. We will contact your father with instructions on how to schedule a visa interview once the processing is complete"

    My question is, what should I do now? Should I wait for them to contact my father or I can go ahead to schedule interview on www.straveldocs.com/cn by myself?

    Does guangzhou will contact my father? if they do, what kind of questions they will ask my father? How will we receive the interview appointment letter, mail to my parents or email to me/parents?

    if anyone have any experience/idea on this, I will be much appreciate for your sharing/help!

    Thanks a lot.

  2. I am petitioning both of my parents to immigrate to the US.

    Guangzhou approved my two case expedite request on 4/15/2015 as follow. I did EP for Guangzhou and sent all documents and fees to NVC.

    'The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General has accepted this case for expedited processing. This file will be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General. Any further questions concerning processing or the interview appointment date should be directed to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General.'

    But when I called NVC today, they said they need 2-3 days to forward my case file to Guangzhou even though they said immediately on the email. So looks like they have not forward my case file yet.

    Does anyone have experience what should I do now? Is there anything i can do to ask NVC to forward my case file faster?

    I request April interview when I apply for expedite. Should i start to contact Guangzhou now? To let them know they will expect two cases coming and ask them to schedule my interview in April. Or is there any possibility they can schedule April interview?

    What Guangzhou will do when they get the expedite casefile? Is there any point i can fast forward the progress at Guangzhou. We really have a deadline to catch, so trying get interview as fast as possible.

    Also, i saw on other post said check progress on DOS. Anyone can help me with what is DOS and how can i check progress on DOS?

    Thanks a lot for any help.

  3. thanks for your answer. Since I am not on the deployment order, is there other reasons can ask for expedite? I saw some perople mentioned ask for a letter from CO could help. is that true?

    You can call and ask for expedite.....or submit your documents through email......it has to be a good reason for expedite. It's always worth a try. But it has to be done before they view your package.

  4. as to police cert white book - that's ok.

    as to the white book on marriage cert - that's weird.

    each place does it differently, there are many places across china.

    review all pages of the marriage white book - are you certain the inside page of the red [chinese] marriage book is not in there, as an image?

    yeah. i called the local notarial office. they said for the marriage certificate. it is like the way it is, not red image in it. I submitted all the AOS and IV documents. Thanks for all your help.

    Another question for DS260, my father is the chinese communist member but he is never been an active member, when i fill out the DS-260 do i need to state it? if i state it, is it gonna affect his Visa? i mean will he likely to be rejected just because of this?

    if i state my father is chinese communist member, do i need to attach separate document to explain it?

    thanks for your help.

  5. 1. hukuo - no. it's never used with NVC/Guangzhou IV. However, it is used in China to get a birth certificate in Chinese, which is then taken to another office to get a white book notarial translation of the birth certificate. That site puts up a lot of confusion, as the family book is not presented to Guangzhou IV when a White book exists.

    2. No - as there is an image of the red marriage book inside of the white book.

    3. i suggest, write in pencil, GZO #, LASTNAME, FirstName, DOB. Don't like that? Edit the pdf file generated with another tool, put on upper right corner of each page.

    thanks Darnell for all the answers. :dancing: i have a concern now, :huh2: i got the police certificate(white book) today, but actually it does not include the certificate which i got from local Public Security Bureau (PSB). It has the Notarial Certificate and the translation. Is it should be like this? or they missed something in my booklet?

    And the marriage white booklet does not has the image of the red marriage book as well? Maybe they changed this recently? Thanks for your help.

  6. 10-4 on the white books, everything else they think is fake. You can buy anything in China. I myself sent original stuffs as well as professionally translated and notarized in the US stuffs for my wife's prior divorce and was denied for a K-1, denied for not sending the white book, they only expect to see the white books.

    If it is a Chinese document do yourself a favor and get a white book for it. Part of the white book guarantees that the original Chinese document is indeed legitimate as well as providing an English translation.

    By screener he should mean the people looking over your papers, USCIS or Consulate, looking for fakes.

    screeners - there are many staff at the IV Unit in Guangzhou -

    one set is the screeners - a group of PRC people that take yer documents and review them, give a quickie report back to the Vice-Consuls.

    their entire job that morning is to 'screen documents', review documents, read documents, hence the label 'screener'. Perhaps is only my label? I've been using it since 2008.

    Thanks so much Mike and Darnell. I already request my parents to get the white booklets for birth certificate and marriage certificate since Guangzhou has its specific document formats. Thanks for your guys help. It really saved me a lot time. :thumbs:

    I am sorry, upon sending the AOS package and supporting documents (IV) package. Another couple of questions for doing EP for guangzhou.

    1. For Birth Certificate, my parents and I all will have the 'while' booklet, I will send the scanned white booklet to NVC. Do I need to send the Household Record as well? Since the NVC says the notarial certificates are secondary evidence(please see the info from NVC website below). If I do need submit household record, the scanned document from the original Household Record should be fine? Or they need the certified translation for household record as well?

    Available in the form of notarial certificates, which are secondary evidence. Notarial certificates of birth (Chu Sheng Gong Zheng Shu or Chu Sheng Zheng Ming Shu) for persons living in or recently departed from China are generally reliable, but are best used in conjunction with other evidence. They are most often based upon an AHHR, (Household Record) which is easily susceptible to fraud, especially in villages.

    2. For the Marriage certificate, if I submit the scanned white booklet, do I need to submit the scanned original marriage certificate as well?

    3. What should I put on the right up corner of each page for the forms and supporting document? Only the case number? Any other information as well? like name, SSN?

    Much appreciate! :)

  7. Thanks Darnell for the reply. Yes, i am doing EP for guangzhou. So you mean the white book, a notarial translation pamphlet by local notary public office in china is the standard format they want to see, right?

    just curious, what do u mean by screeners?

    thanks,

    are you doing EP for Guangzhou ?

    if yes, is dead easy for them to get a white book, a notarial translation pamphlet in china, then step into a copy shop around the corner, scan all and email to you.

    this other thing you've described, well, with an interview in Guangzhou, it won't be what the screeners are expecting.

  8. Hi there,

    I am putting together all the supporting documents for my parents for DS-260.

    For the Marriage certificate, since my parents have the original marriage certificate when they married in china, I have it translated and notarized in US. It includes statement signed by the translator and notarized.

    Can I submitted photocopies of my parents' original Marriage certificate along with the translation and notarization or I have to get the Notarial Marriage certificates issued by a local notary public office in china? Anyone had the same experience before?

    Thanks for you help.

  9. I would make sure I have enough income to cover a household of 3. Regardless if it's two separate petitions, they both would be living with you simultaneously.

    You have to put how much you make per year on the required line and proof to back it up. I hope this helps, I am eying to figure this out as I go along.

    thank you very much. You seems spend a lot time to prepare this process. I can keep you posted how it goes.

  10. I really appreciate your help. Im Sorry, i have another question for the household size.

    Dad's I-864EZ:Me=1 Dad=1 total=2

    Mom's I-864EZ:Me=1 Mom=1 total=2

    Is that correct?

    125% of household size 2 is $19,662. So i should write $19,662 on each of their i-864ez, right?

    However, since I petitioning both of them. How much do I need to make? $19,662 or $24,737? If I make $20K, is it enough to petition both of them? I mean when they go to interview, the officer will only consider $19k for each parent or consider two parents together?

    I think as long as your income can cover both parents and yourself, you should be fine.

  11. Hi all,

    I am filing separate I-864EZ for my parents at the same time.

    For the household size:

    Dad's I-864EZ

    Me=1

    Dad=1

    total=2

    Mom's I-864EZ

    Me=1

    Mom=1

    total=2

    Much appreciate.

  12. Hi everyone,

    I am new here. I am petitioning both of my parents to US. I have paid AOS fee and filed out DS-261 forms online. I have a few questions regarding filing out I-864EZ. Thanks a lot for all your helps in advance.

    1. Which form should I use? I-864EZ or I-864? I have red the instruction for I-864EZ which are listed below. I wrote answers and questions in blue.

    a. I am the petitioner of the family member sponsored on this form. Yes i am

    b. I am using only my own earned or retirement income, which is documented using IRS Form W-2.

    Yes, I have had current job about half a year since July 2014 and my earned income W-2 has already above the 125% of the HHS poverty guidelines. So my 2014 Tax return will be above 125% for sure, but i have not filed 2014 yet. My 2013 income also was all based on W-2s and total above 125%. However, in 2012, I had both W-2 and 1099 and total income slightly below 125% about $500. And I have assets in my bank account.

    For above situation, do i qualify to use I-864EZ? do I still need to provide the 1099 for 2012? Since my income in 2011 was slightly under 125%, Do i need to provide documents for assets? Can i just use my currently income (W-2) to petition my parents and don't show 1099 and assets(because my current income is enough for them)?

    c. The sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating based on the underlying Visa petition.

    I am petitioning my dad and mom on two separate Visa petitions simultaneously. so they most likely go to interview together at the same time, but again they are on two separate Visa petitions. Am I qualify for C?

    2. As for household size for HHS poverty, I understand I don't count my dad on my mom's I-864EZ/I-864( same to my mom). So on each I-864EZ/I-864, the household size is 2, right? (I am single). So is that mean for each I-864EZ/I-864, I need $19,662 for Household size 2, right? But what is the total I need for my parents $19,662*2=$39,324, or $19,662 for 2 people or $24,737 for 3 people? Hope you did not get confused about these numbers.

    Any information and help is much appreciated. Thanks a lot.
