  1. You made the correct choice! I would definitely purchase an airplane ticket home for her. Use this as a learning experience. I know that if a girl is not affectionate with you, she does not love you. A girl who loves you will go out of her way to give you attention and affection. Even girls who are very shy open up at some point and do not make such excuses. We've all been in similar situations before, where we were the ones pulling all of the weight in a relationship, hoping that the other person would eventually come around. But my past experience tells me otherwise. Don't ever give up. Try again and you will find the right person for you. Just make sure that the next girl is putting forth as much effort into the relationship as you are before bringing her here. Good luck!!

  2. Apply without the lawyer. I did it, and it is not so complicated. There are many forms and documents that you must submit. But almost all of it is easy to learn.

The lawyer fees remind me of men who pay $10,000 to a marriage agency to find them a wife abroad, when there are many free websites that do the same thing. I have a friend who married a Russian woman who was in the US on a student visa. They use a lawyer for everything. They are still using the lawyer now to get her citizenship, because she has been here for 6 years. Over the years, this couple has sunk thousands of dollars on lawyers, when they could have done everything themselves for practically nothing.

  3. You could also file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request at the USCIS for copies of your application. This could take a couple of months, but under FOIA rules, the government must produce the documentation that you request. That way, you would know whether your application was lost or not.

  4. Thank you for replying so quickly. Yes, she already emailed me the exact same photo. I am not up to speed on digital photos and passport photos. I do not know the resolution of the photo that I have through email, but it is the identical photo. I will try to put it on a CD and take it to a photo shop and see what they can do with it. Thanks!

  5. I have a question about passport photos for the K-1 visa. I asked my girlfriend in Ukraine to send me a passport photo of her for the application. She sent the photo on a white background as requested. However, the size of the photo is about 1.5 inch by 1.75 inch instead of the 2 X 2 inch passport photos that I receive in America. I compared the photo to the actual photo in my passport, and her photo is actually slightly larger than the photo in my passport. Will this passport size be acceptable for the visa? It takes a long time to send mail from Ukraine, so I want to use this photo of her. I don't know if they even have 2 X 2 photos in Ukraine.
