  1. So i did my interview today, when asked if i had any weapon training, i told the interviewer i visited a gun range last month, but i don't own a gun. She said they'll need to do another background check on me before she can approve. Has anyone ever gotten this kind of response before? My case status has changed to case is being actively reviewed by USCIS

  4. Oh yeah.

The woman asked how we met, what attracted us to each other, what does our parents feel about the marriage, if I had a child from my previous marriage, statement of accounts and utilities etc.

Just try to be as free as possible. I was abit scared at first and I must say I almost missed it, the interviewer excused herself to make copies of the documents we brought and my wife boosted my morale, by the interviewer came back I was as free as a bird, my wife and I started talking about a lot of things, even things she didn't ask for. She then saw that our marriage was real and even after she told us we were approved, we kept talking. We talked about the baby we are expecting, how my mother in law is excited, everything. Just be free.

I hope my timeline will help others ... thank you everybody i'll see you in 20 months from now !! :) Good luck to everybody!!!

    congrats

  7. My wife had her I-485 interview today and everything went smoothly. We showed up, waited for an hour, and then the officer called out her name. Interestingly, he asked her to come in alone first. After about 15 minutes he came to get me. He was smiling, very nice guy. He asked my wife the questions below first, and when I got there (she didn't have to leave the room) he asked me the same:

    - How did you guys meet? Where? What date? Who introduced you?

    - Who cooks typically?

    - Where do you put your dirty laundry?

    - Where have you traveled together?

    - Where do you live?

    - How many bedrooms do you have?

    - How many bathrooms do you have?

    - Do you or your wife have tattoos?

    - Do you go to church?

    - What did you give eachother for your last birthday?

    - Who was present at the birthday?

    - What time do you get home from work?

    - Do you have any pets?

    - Do you have any children?

    - Have you been married before?

    - Who lives in your house?

    - When did you start to talk about getting married?

Nothing complicated, there was no need to prepare, just the standard things that legitimately married people would know about eachother. He then went through her application, asked the yes/no questions again, took the additional documents we brought to prove marriage legitimacy (new joint bills, car leases, etc), browsed through our photos, and told us that our case was approvable, and that USCIS believes that our marriage is legitimate. He said we should get my wife's green card in 2 to 3 weeks. He didn't take any of the original copies of the evidence we had submitted previously, or the certified marriage certificate, or our birth certificates.

About an hour ago, we got the text/email updates saying that her new card is being produced! So it looks like everything is squared away.

    Good luck everyone!!!

Congrats... I pray mine is also this easy

  8. Dnd, believe we have similar timeline. Did you receive any online status update first or just the paper mail to your home address? Mine 485 still shows the followings....

n January 28, 2015, we received your response to our Request for Evidence for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center office will begin working on your case again. We will mail you a decision or notify you if we need something from you. You should receive a decision or case update by March 29, 2015, unless fingerprinting or an interview are needed.

Do you have similar status before it changed to Interview scheduled? Did you file any expedition?

    thanks!!!

I had a similar status before it changed to interview scheduled, i didn't file for any expedition, i don't think you can expedite interview though
