Are you putting your case number in the subject line ?
yes . The mail is not being delivered at this email address for the last one month. I have successfully mailed @ this address before but something going wrong now. dont know what.

Whenever I contact NVC at their given email address ie asknvc@state.gov, it is received back undelivered with failure notification. has anyone else experienced the same problem? or is the email add wrong?

How long did your father overstay and when? Was he asked to leave US?
-
Well they're at the interview right now. I think they will ask for an interpreter.
Thank you apple21 ☺
any update? out come of interview?

petition is only closed when it remains dormant/inactive for a year. any activity ie paying fee or contact with NVC would keep it active, dont worry.

It is not required in Pakistan. My mom's case is complete at NVC and waiting for interview date. they never asked for police certificate.
-
my mom received case complete email on 27th march but no interview date as yet.

received case complete letter on 27th march but no interview date yet. Almost a month but no interview date.

though my parents have not yet reached at interview stage but i guess there would be very simple questions and usually no hard time for parents. They should answer truthfully and best to their knowledge. The answers should be very brief and to the point.
Since you are a long way from interview stage you may post this when that stage comes and many from your country would have the experience of their parents interviews and they might share it with you so dont worry.

your unemployment wont be a problem as long as your wife meets the financial support I 864) requirements and even if she does not you can find a joint sponsor.
Non immigrant visa denials will not affect immigrant visa as both have different qualifications.
You can do all the paperwork for your parents. They need to fill only one form ie DS 260, on line, which you can do on their behalf.
Attorney is not required as it is very simple case. Just read the instructions from USCIS and follow them. this forum is also a great help.

When I petitioned for my husband 5 years ago we didn't need to use the NOA 1 or 2 for anything. It was just a notice telling us what was happening with our case. I filed from inside the USA so i did receive the papers in the mail. I don't know what happens if you live in another country.
I would suggest that if you don't find the answer you are looking for on visa journey that you call USCIS or NVC and ask them your questions. NVC is slow these days and it may take awhile for NVC to receive your case and get in touch with you.
It is still same. Hard copies are not required any where. If someone wants to keep it for record email is enough.

document handling is a total mess at NVC. I also received similar checklist, in my father's case, though all the documents were submitted alongwith the covering letter provided by NVC and after 72 days this checklist was received. In my mother's case they took 65 days and sent a checklist that W2 of joint sponsor for year 2013 were missing although those were sent with I 864. We sent those again and after 75 days another checklist that W2 of petitioner were missing. its so annoying but this is how they handle the cases and not accountable to anyone. contacting them over phone or email is also next to impossible. Its better to send them again or it would add further delay.

Same happened with my father's petition. after seven months i started calling USCIS and each time reply was " security check". after eight months I approached immigration ombudsman office and they sent an enquiry into this case. Got the approval a month later. You may contact immigration ombudsman online.

The above link says that I 601a is the form which is filed by beneficiary before departing US and the beneficiary should be immediate relative of US citizen ie spouse, minor child or parent.

my parents case is at NVC for the last 5 months. I had sent all the documents ( financial as well as other supporting documents alongwith the cover sheet and bar coded sheet provided by NVC ) These were received by NVC and confirmed by them on 15 January 2015. But now I have received checklist in my fathers case that they reviewed the documents and some information or documents were missing. They have instructed to provide following documents:
Passport copies
Applicants birth certificate
marriage certificate
petitioners birth certificate.
All these documents were sent to NVC alongwith I 864. I have been trying to contact NVC via telephone and email but failed so far as each time when I call there is recorded message that the call cannot be connected as they are too busy so try some other time. Same is with email. it is returned back to my inbox with 'delivery failure' notification. Now I am confused whether to wait and keep calling ( which I am doing for last 5 days and failed so far) or send the documents again which will of course again trigger the routine 60 days period when they receive these documents.
Please advise.

NVC communication is all by email. Call them and make sure they have correct email addresses on file for both petitioner and beneficiary. The Case Complete and Interview Letter we received from NVC were all by email and were sent to all email addresses we had put on their file.
I received wellcome letter from NVC through e mail as well as hard copy through regular postal mail ( though very late)

you don't need to print the whole DS 260 form but only confirmation page.
-
IV application completed indicates that you have completed DS 260 application online. It doesn't mean that your case is complete at NVC. You will receive information from NVC when your case is complete and interview is scheduled.

there is no doubt that NVC is backlogged. Emails are also responded by them after a long time. you can keep them calling and hopefully issue will be resolved. There are no security checks at NVC so the administrative processing means under process.
-
After receipt of case from USCIS, NVC usually takes two months appx. to contact petitioner and beneficiary both via e mail as well as postal services. They however send it through regular mail (not courier) so there are chances of missing it but petitioner will definitely receive email. if you do not receive letter from NVC past 60 days you can contact them over telephone.
-
you can file the petition next day when you turn 21. gather the required documents and keep them ready meanwhile.

If she can visit every year she might not loose green card. She can also apply for reentry permit and stay back for two years in her home country.

It is requirement of NVC to include the checklist bar coded cover letter. Read the letter carefully. it contains the instructions.
2x2 passport photo for IR5 civil documents

writing case # is fine. you can add name if you want to. I dont think ink color matters but I used black.
