You may file Form N-400 ninety (90) calendar days before you complete your permanent residence requirement if your eligibility for naturalization is based upon being a:
- Permanent resident for at least 5 years; or
- Permanent resident for at least 3 years if you are married to a US citizen.
Thanks for your answer

Hi, i have a 2 simple questions regarding the citizenship process, i appreciate your help
I came to USA on 02/02/2014, when i will be eligible to apply for citizenship? or when the 90 days will start?
Do i must be working while i'm applying?
Thanks
-
If you can use your future US passport right after end of citizenship process, you can just wait, save your money and time, perhaps you will get approved very fast and if needed to travel you will find no problem, if there is a long wait to have US passport after approval (not sure you should check naturalization forums and see ) and you probably will have to travel then may be you should just renew it now and relax

I realize that there are other criteria by which someone is elligible for naturalization, but OP narrowed his/her questions to specific ones that caused him/her confusion, so limiting the answer to those is appropriate. What I alluded to is one answer to one question.
The USCIS AFM refers to the three-month residency requirement by specifically mentioning "service district area." There are two addresses based on the filing of N-400, exception: if you are a former member of the military, spouse of current member of the military, or close relative of deceased member of the military.) As provided in the link I supplied.
The OP's location is listed as California.
Thanks , this is correct i live in California
Is USCIS means with 3 months , 3 months residency in the same State CA for me right? by the time i will be back to CA i would like to apply for citizenship, can i do that although i will spend almost 2 and half months overseas?
-
1) What is the "resident since" date on your permanent resident card? You may file the N-400 within 90 days preceding the three year anniversary date of your permanent resident status.
2) You must be ordinarily resident in a service area for three months prior to filing with that service area's office. For the N-400, there are two service areas. See "Where to File" at the following link: https://www.uscis.gov/n-400
If you're on vacation, but you live (and have lived for more than three months) in California, you can file with the following address:
USCIS
P.O. Box 21251
Phoenix, AZ 85036
For Express Mail or courier deliveries, use the following address:
USCIS
Attn: N-400
1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S
Suite 100
Phoenix, AZ 85034
Thanks
resident since 02/01/2014, so the 90 days will start i think in October!
i live in California , yes i'm just in vacation i will stay for 2months and few days, this will be the first time i take vacation overseas since i become resident, so when i saw -3 months in the same state- i get confused
-
You have to give people time to find your question.
If you go to uscis.gov/forms and click on the N-400 and all of its related forms, you will find a checklist that determines your eligibility to apply for citizenship that includes more than just the "90-day" date.
Good luck!
Thank you for your answer
Yes i already went to the checklist, the only requirement that i did not understand very well is 3 months in the state? i don't understand what they means with this,

Please, no answer?

Hi, i have a 2 simple questions regarding citizenship application, i appreciate your help
When i will be eligible for citizenship(3 years) , i came to USA on 2/1/2014, i think there is calculator to calculate 90 days but i don't know how to find it?
What this means: You have lived within the state or USCIS district where you claim residence for at least 3 months? I'm now in vacation overseas
Thanks for any advice regarding this matter

You are right,You don't have to give excuses to yourself. What is the point of living with someone who doesn't respect, love and care about you?. People usually say "because I love him/her " or "I am trying to save my marriage" well you need to love, care and respect you more.
Marriage should be is based on respect, trust and love, without these things there is no reason to continue.

You can't imagine how I feel! I feel so bad
Don't feel bad , u will be OK

U have to relax & think, give urself a time, ND if he do not give an answer to what's happend & u become sure he's cheating save yourself respect and dynity

How about drafting a Power of Attorney for Health Care. You should get a CERTIFIED COURT DISPOSITION to submit along with your case.
Get affidavits from family and friends stating about bonafide marriage. They should mention their full name, date and place of birth and current address. They should mention when they met you and where, if they attending the wedding or not,if not why not, If they visited you after the wedding. The affidavits must be NOTARIZED, but affidavits from your family abroad are not necessary to notarize. Submit IRS TRANSCRIPT.
Thanks for your answer , what do you mean by certified court disposition? they gave me in the court day a paper saying no action taken , i got this document from the court i asked for more documentation they said this is what i can get and i'm good to go , there was no trial or anything i was not charged for anything , is this paper what are you talking about?
there is no sample/example on how to write affidavits? the affidavits should be written by hand or computer? where to notarize it? i'm asking in case i submit affidavits with my application
Thank you again i hope i get answer to those 2 questions, please

Since you have a month till your 90 day window opens, I'd suggest you research through VJ to look for what other evidence you can submit that you haven't already thought of. A glimpse on VJ will show that couples have come up with very creative ways to add joint evidence. If you haven't done it already, you can think of making healthcare power of attorney and/or wills. Such evidence will surely override your previous history.
Thank you , i'm trying to find out what can i submit with i-751
thank you for your answer

Good afternoon every body,I still married to the husband who called the police against me claiming i abused him after having arguments together, this happened on July 19 this year, i wanted to leave him his family and friends and him convinced me to stay with him and see how life will looks like after giving him a chance , i gave him the chance and we are still living together , next month the 90 days windows will be open for me to remove the condition on my green card i will fill jointly with the husband i guess! .i worry a lot because i don't know if the removal process will be easy like i expected before, or it will be too difficult or may be my case will be denied because of the arrest, although i have proofs of bona fide marriage . like lease contract/travel together/bills/life /health insurance, photos ectno joint car insurance its necessary to have a joint car insurance?no joint credit card the husband credit is bad,no dental insuranceI have 1 question i appreciate your help/adviceDo you think with the proofs that i have i can get 10 years green card? or since i have arrest in my record i'm not going to have the 10 years green card ? i dint see any immigration attorney,Thanks

I know my Moroccan husband's DL will expire the same day as his green card will expire September 10, 2015). So actually we have an appointment to get his driver's license renewed as well as mine because mine is expiring in August 2015.
I am a little concerned that they will not renew his driver's license until he gets his condititional green card renewed/removal for a 10 year green card.
But we will find out on August 4th because that is when we have our appointment. When I find out more, I will post an update.
As for the difference of the ID card versus the DL card, I don't know. Maybe they made a mistake or did you already finish doing the removal of conditional GC by filing and getting approved of the I-751?
Thanks for your answer, no i will remove the condition on my green card in 3 months from now, i hope good news for you and your husband on the appointment and on his removal process , good luck , post an update , have a nice day
