  1. Hi every body, i have a question, i appreciate in advance your help

the question N6 in part 12 in the form N400 ask if you owe any overdue, federal, state, or local taxes , i myself i think i should answer NO but i'm not sure here is the situation:

My spouse in 2015 got a letter from IRS saying that he owe IRS money in 2014 because of glitch with kaiser permanent health insurance, i don't understand too much these things but what i understood he made more and the insurance got less, the lady she filled taxes for us she explained to him the situation, im not sure why the IRS didnt take the money when my spouse got his return money , in any way he received a letter explaining whats happened with his SSN in the top but i received a COPY of every thing he received because we FILE MARRIED JOINTLY, i was all that time just house wife not working , in any way we went to IRS department a long time ago and he had an agreement to pay monthly , still every month he receive a bill but with both our names and his SSN,

i asked my husband about the appropriate answer to this question and he said i should answer no, because its not my case , do you think i should answer YES OR NO to that question?

    thank you

  2. I am assuming your husband is filing for citizenship. If so, Part 13 clearly has a place for his signature. From what I have seen, especially if you are applying using the 3-yr rule, your spouse should attend with you.

Your timeline indicates that you have not yet applied for the ROC, are you sure your husband is eligible for naturalization

Thanks , I'm the one applying for citizenship, i did filed for the ROC and already approved, am applying under the 3 y rule, and wondering if my spouse should sign anything in the form like he did with Roc, and if he must attend the interview with me because he probably for sure he will be overseas when i think i will have my interview

i will complete properly my timeline

  3. Hi everybody, i have a few questions regarding N400 application

    - Please is there a way to find a completed (Sample) of N400 form ?

    - I dont see any part/form where my husband should sign for this application, i'm mistaken? what about the interview do my spouse need to be with me? im asking because my spouse will go overseas to see our son probably in the same time where i probably have my interview

Thank you , i appreciate your help

  4. 1. $595 (Add $85 biometric fee for a total of $680, where applicable. See exceptions below.) You must make your check payable to Department of Homeland Security. Fees are accepted in the form of a money order, personal check, cashier's check, or credit card payment using Form G-1450, Authorization for Credit Card Transactions.

Exceptions in which the applicant is not required to pay the entire $680:

    • Applicants 75 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee, the total fee is $595.
    • No fee is required for military applicants filing under Section 328 and 329 of the INA

    from USCIS website.

    2. You have the right address.

    3. Optional.

Thank you so much , the money should be sent to department of homeland security right?

The N-400 page clearly states the fee, how you can pay, and includes where to file based on your state of residence. Part 13 requires your signature.

Thank you, i meant by signature the UPS signature, normally they ask you, do you want a signature with your delivery or you waive it, i was just wondering if the N400 needs a signature or not,

  5. Hi, i appreciate your help in advance , i have a simple questions regarding N400,

    - How much money do i have to pay for N400 application?its weird! i cant find an answer in N400 instructions.

Can i pay the fee with money order? its says online pay the fee with credit card!

Is there any example or guidance when paying this fee?

    - If i live in California, should i use this address? USCIS Attn: N-400 1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S Suite 100 Phoenix, AZ 85034

    - Is the signature when sending this application is optional or required?

    Thank you

  6. You can complain to ups if you want. There is no law against being rude but he might be fired for it. But it sounds like you were impeding him from doing his job. Why wouldn't you want to sign for a package?

The first time in my life i know i must sign if i open the door although my husband he signed for the notice, i was trying to understand why the signed infonotice is no good like he is saying , but i got no answer from him and the way how he was speaking with me was not good at all

  7. Since you opened the door someone must sign for it, which negates the form your husband left. Signature confirmation is important and the driver does not want to lose his job or get in trouble. We had an issue with a package with delivery confirmation with our local mail man. He has a habit of being lazy and never obtaining a signature and then delivering items to the wrong house. I have called our local post office many times to complain. This past week he did it again on an international package and I phoned the office. The supervisor was furious and no one could track the item down. He didn't remember delivering it to the wrong house even though it stated it was delivered, and he never obtained a signature or confirmation where it was delivered to. After a long conversation with that mail man, the supervisor made him backtrack to every house he had delivered to previously and ask the occupants about the package. Thankfully the person returned the item. Signatures are important for insurance purposes because the delivery company doesn't want to get claims put against them. You should sign for packages that are delivered to you/your family and it's acceptable and allowed. He was certainly rude but is most likely in a hurry to not be late with deliveries or not get in trouble. Don't worry, next time now you know what to do.

    Thank you for your help

all i needed to understand while the driver was at the door was: why he is not accepting the notice and asking me to sign "now", "now", but unfortunately he was not showing respect or kindness, he just said take the notice its no good ,

    thanks again

  8. Pretty sure if someone within the immediate family answers the door, if they want the package they have to sign. If you had not answered the door, THEN they would have taken the slip he signed and left, but since you answered, you needed to sign as you're the person taking physical responsibility of the package.

But no, he shouldn't have been rude to you.

The notice was at the door , he saw it and didn't take it he said he don't accept the notice, he said its not acceptable but the info notice was clear if you work or cant be at the house just sign it and the leave it at the door

  9. Well he was certainly quite rude to you so I'm sorry about that. Typically though since you live with your husband in your house, you have every right to sign for the packages being delivered to your door that require a signature. So next time if a package arrives that needs a signature you may sign for it.

he was super mad i know what i mean , he was in hurry situation , and he showed me i must sign with no speak , no question, he put like a mark in the signature machine he had , gave me the package , and left , i feel like he was fighting with me for no reason , i was just trying to understand why my husband signature in the notice is not acceptable and if there is any other way to get the package he was not listening, and this is the first time i know somebody MUST sign, when he left i said why you are mad , he said have a nice day , close your day and go to sleep !!!!!!!

  10. Hi, my husband was expecting delivery I'm not sure from where,I believe the delivery signature was required, yesterday when we came home at 4.00pm we found a notice:the UPS missed him, so he signed the back of the infonotice like the instructions says, printed his name, in order just to leave the package at the door it's option B, and he left the notice at the house where it was, today morning I was sick sleeping, somebody knocked the door he was ups driver, asking for signature, I said husband not here but he did signed the notice,I actually do not understand anything, the driver was super mad, he wanted me by force to sign, the way how he was talking to me was soo agressif, he didn't even listen or answer my questions, , is anybody who open the door here in USA MUST SIGN? is the driver has a right to force me to sign, without answering any questions? Thanks I really need to understand

  11. I find this sort of nice though

"USCIS will offer a reduced filing fee of $320 for naturalization applicants with family incomes greater than 150 percent and not more than 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. For 2016, this means, for example, that a household of four with an income between $36,000 and $48,600 per year could pay the reduced fee. Those eligible may apply for this option using the new Form I-942, Request for Reduced Fee."

It seems they are trying to help those who are more likely to have trouble paying the fees.

the first time i read this,

i will apply for citizenship soon , how much the fee? is the fee amount is not the same for everybody? do i have to calculate how much i make to pay the fee, or what?

    i appreciate your help

  15. You may file Form N-400 ninety (90) calendar days before you complete your permanent residence requirement if your eligibility for naturalization is based upon being a:

    • Permanent resident for at least 5 years; or
    • Permanent resident for at least 3 years if you are married to a US citizen.
