Yes! Things went well, almost word for word what jen2198 said. I recieved my police clearance March 24th, had it in Montreal the next day, then waited three weeks. I recieved my passport with stamp april 15th and was in the USA by the 17th. I'm here now and very relieved it's over!

I had my interview Feb 5th and got a 221 for a Chinese Police check I had been told prior I didn't need. That took a month and a half to get. Now my documents and my passport have been in Montreal two weeks as of this morning with no status updates. I am beyond frustrated.

I heard their mailroom is slow. Anyone else have their documents in limbo there in Montreal?

I have my passport as the CO knew that my police check would take time. I have a flight home for four weeks from arrival.

I was approved in Montreal pending their receipt of my criminal record check from China. This is going to take a month due to Chinese New Year. My grandparents bought me a ticket to go down to the USA while I wait.

Will I run into issues at the border?

I was under the impression that if you had spent less than a year in a country you didn't need to police check. I had been in China for ten months and was relieved to not have to go through the hoops to get one. I had even called NVC about it. Here is the bad news...

I had my interview in Montreal a little less than two weeks ago. I arrived and everything checked out- EXCEPT for the lack of a Chinese police check. The officer explained that I was approved pending the receipt of my check from China. Apparently the woman at the NVC that told me I wouldn't need it was wrong and I was screwed out of receiving my approval that day. So here I am waiting for the police in China (visainchina is doing the work and has already submitted it to the police) to get things done and Chinese New Year is this week. The update I received this morning said that I will be getting the paperwork at the end of March.

If anyone has something faster for me, PLEASE HELP. I am pretty tired of waiting!

Anyone get a criminal record check from China without going to China or knowing someone there? Have a good agent?

Frustrated but conditionally approved!

I had my interview today and I thought it was going well. That is until the interviewer asked for my Chinese police check. I only lived there 10 months! I read that anywhere less than a year is not needed, so I didn't have it. She told me to get ahold of it and courier it to Montreal with my passport. After that I would be finished and my passport would be returned to me, after which I could head to the US.

Has anyone gotten a police check from China? From what I've read it is very difficult.

If you are at your CC due date and you just want to move things a long but keep it natural ...try curb walking. Find a sidewalk with a curb and walk with one foot on the curb and the other on the street .When you get to the end of the street turn around walk back the direction you came from so all things are equal. After several hours of curb walking your bouncing baby CC should just fall out.

If that doesn't work call NVC and ask them to strip your file of any checklists clearly they have already stripped your pockets and patience. If your bouncing baby CC still does not appear demand a referral to a Specialist in CC delivery. Sometimes interventions are not a bad thing but the wait for the Specialist can take weeks just so you

I am getting worry cc on January 5th got cc email on January 12 but no interview yet who ever got cc around same time they got their interview date I am getting really nervous!!!!!!! My consulate is ISL PAKISTAN

I think canada still has be to be scheduling for February based on the trends in the interview Excel sheet. I've seen several with ~December 30 CC without an interview yet. Hopefully this week they give us an interview date!

It has been two weeks since my CC date and I still haven't heard anything. I am so impatient!

we got it early morning so i think yours should arrive by tomorrow...........yeah calling them is the only option just so we know early and book medical apt accordingly

I live on Vancouver Island and will have to fly all the way to Montreal and back, even though there is a consulate in Vancouver. Very annoying. At least I can do the medical in Surrey.

I am going to be flying from Van too and flying home after the interview (whenever that gets scheduled). I think it is my cheaper option. Good luck, I hope to be getting an interview at a similar time as I have a similar CC!
