We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on March 1, 2018. but i didn't submit an inquiry.. And today i receive an email again saying

We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on May 26, 2017. Now I'm confused.

I received the same email this morning. I think it is in error, as my case was approved and checking

https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ it told me that my card is being produced. I think you can safely disregard this notice.

My CR1-89 still says the same as they received my case last April...

Mine was transferred to local office too as of this morning. Filed at VT center on 05/04/2017.

There should be 2 different receipt numbers, mine still say Case Received on one but says that my case was transferred on the other. Be sure to check both! (The second one wasn't working and giving me an error before this morning)

  3. Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to report after going for our interview on April 28th in New-York City.

So basically we arrived to a crowded room and had to wait for a little over an hour, but the lady checking us in warned us that it was a busy day. We were called by a very courteous IA, sat and took the oath. After this, the IA told us he had time to review our file beforehand and that was the reason it was so long. Then he proceeded to ask us a few questions (exactly: Why was my wife born abroad, and did I know where she had her tattooes made). After those two questions he asked me to confirm all the questions about drugs, firearms and communism in the application and told us that we were approved. The whole process took no more than 10 minutes and was such a relief for me.

So I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to VJ, it has been an invaluable resource and allowed us to file for Adjustment of Status without a lawyer, and I'm really thankful for that.

To those who haven't yet been interviewed, be patient and good luck. If your marriage is genuine, everything will be fine, it is less impressive than it seems.

  4. Did your receipt given from SSA state that you should expect the card between 2 weeks or 4 weeks?

The receipt given to me states I should expect the SSN card in about 4 weeks because they couldn't confirm my EAD card due to the fact that it hadn't been updated in their system. I applied for the SSN 3 days after I got my EAD.

It was a regular 2 weeks receipt and I applied the exact next day after I received my EAD, so I think it is pretty random, I just got lucky I guess. Good luck to you and I hope you receive your SS# soon!

  5. There's a separate status for the card being mailed?

Yes, there is. Mine looked like this:

On February 3, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number MSC159026XXXX, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by March 5, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  6. trust me it won't restart the 90 days. they say that but it seriously won't. I got an rfe for my ead at 75days of filing, and responded. It took them two days after they received my response to approve it. I believe they were ready to approve it and then they noticed that. so trust me once you send them the right evidence and they receive it and it goes into response review, you will get approve within a week or a little over a week. this was the same for at least two other people in the October thread as me and we got approve same way. so believe me. your ead is at the final stage and they will pick up from there. my rfe was for initial evidence too. stating that I changed my name. Good luck.

I agree, the reset of the 90 days is very theoretical and it mostly sets people back a week or two in most cases. As for employment, as long as you have a clear idea of when you will legally be allowed to work, going for interviews is fine IMHO

  7. Congratulations everyone!!!!

Does an RFE affect getting an EAD if its initial evidence? Our lawyer didn't send the right papers and didn't tell us until recently. If yes, is there any way around it? :(

Yes I believe an RFE resets the 90 days window to get your EAD, but it doesnt prevent you from actually getting it, it ust postpone the process which is sometimes annoying. Did you file in November? It would seem strange that you had an RFE for initial evidence now? If it is really the case you should start counting from the time the USCIS acknowledge reception of your evidence.

Stay positive and Good luck, it's just a setback

  8. Congrats everyone!

    Few questions:

Was it "Case Was Received" and then changed straight to "Card Was Mailed" ?

Did anybody apply for AP as well?

Did you guys get the interview scheduled already?

Or is it still in "Fingerprint Fee Was Received" status?

    Thanks!

The message I got tonight is "Card/ Document Production " and prior to that it was "Case Was Received". I didn't apply for AP so I can't really say anything about it.

So far no interview, still in "Fingerprint Fee was Received" for me.
