Hi there I got here on a spouse visa in 2011 and filed ROC jointly in 2013. I received my 10 year green card without interview as well. Divorced 2015.

I applied for citizenship in 2016 and became a citizen last year.

At the citizenship interview the officer did ask about my marriage and circumstances. She also wanted to see my divorce and marriage certificates (I got remarried). However everything was without issue (except that my 2nd 10 year GC showed a wrong "resident since" date).

Just sharing my story and I hope it helps.

    Thank you for sharing!

i had my N400 interview today IO asked me lots of questions regarding my divorce and after the exam he said to me you passed the test but i still need to review your divorce papers and given me N-652

You passed the english / US history / and govt test

a decision cannot made about your application

he said to me he will get back to me with in two weeks

so how long it will take normally ? has anyone face the same situation ?

Could you please tell me what questions they ask about the divorce? Did they ask for some docs?

    Yes.

If you obtained a GC via marriage they will review the marriage. You need to be prepared to answer questions and submit copies of official documents and provide proof of bonafide marriage evidences IF ASKED.

Every Officer does things differently and every case is unique so theres no way to know what will happen in your interview. Some people are heavily interrogated and others its barely mentioned. Of course a fair number of people have it mentioned, discussed, and accepted/moved on.

You should prepare for the worst- just to be safe.

Does your divorce decree state you separated prior to ROC approval? Did you file a joint ROC?

We filed a joint ROC  and got approved in 2015 without any issues. 10 months later we got separated but didn't get a divorce decree until last year. I still have docs like joint tax returns, some bank statements, leases, insurance cards with both of our names etc, I just want to be ready because I'm about to send my N-400

  4. Hi all,

I got my green card after marrying my US citizen ex wife. I got approved in 2012 at the interview without any issues for my conditional green card and then got a approved without interview in 2015 to remove conditions. 10 months after getting my 10yr green card my ex wife and me separated, but we didn't get a final divorce decree until April of 2017

My question is, is it possible that at the time for my citizenship interview they want proof about my marriage?

  5. You need to show financial evidence from the time you got married to current date. For example you can send bank account statements, starting from the month you got married, to current date, you dont need to send one for every month but at least one from every 3 or 4 months apart. Do the same thing with the utility bills and everything else that shows financial obligation. I also noticed you said you only sent tax return from 2012, it will be a good idea to send a copy of the 2013 return. All they want to see is that you have been continuously living together and that share the same obligations. Good luck!

    Bummer, I received a RFE.

I had the impression I sent enough evidence, but clearly they thought otherwise.

I sent in beside the check, F I-751 and list of residences:

Copy of front and back Permanent Resident Card.

    Copy of passport.

Copy of both of our drivers licenses.

Copy of joint 2012 tax return.

Copy of our joint checking acct. statement.

Copies of bill statements in both of our names.

    -City of xxxxxxx Utility Bill

-Florida Power & Light (FPL) Utility Bill

Copy of Bill of Sale from the house that we own, that shows that my wife and I both own it jointly.

Copy of the cars insurances ID card showing both of our names.

Copies of Citizens insurance policy for the house.

Their response is that we didn't show joint financial responsability or joint residence.

I mainly have the impression did need to catch up with work and didn't read the dossier.

    I will send atdditionally:

-Deed of the house (double proof as they have the bill of sale)

-Birth certificates of children (which they received when I applied 2 years ago)

    -Joint 1040 2013 with all W2's.

    -Copy of house insurance

-Detailed transaction information of Bank accounts

Is there anything else I can provide?

  6. Does the letter say you and your wife have to go to the office or just you? They are asking you for two pics right? I think it might be something related with your biometrics. They dont interview people that soon after applying for I-751. But this is only my opinion.

Call to the uscis and talk to officer.

    I think 2 photo....well. if u r gna pass interview I think u will get decision!!!!!!

:) so... keep bugging him. What should I do. but I would rather bring all stuff. (New Evidence) just in case.

  7. I would call costumer service just to make sure its not a mistake.

***HELP PLEASE, I am new here, have conditional green card, married to USC since 2011

    Here is my story

*** Joint 751 filed in December 2014 (lease on both names, checking both names, tax return filed joint for last 2 years, health ins, life ins and 401k showing my wife as a beneficiary, 2 credit cards statements both names, sams club card, car insurance for both cars, hotel reservation for our vacation and pictures)

*** January 2015 got one year extension and BIO

*** two days ago got interview appt.

So scared. do not know what to expect. Although their web site says they are processing cases sent in June 2014. i got int appt in 2 monts.

Anybody to help with advise or to share their experience?

    thank you

  8. You have to use the receipt number on your NOA

Btw its form I-751 not I-571

Guys, when you enquired about the processing delay on line what form did you use? When I select I-571 I get the following error:

You must select the Form Number associated to your Receipt Number. The Form Number you selected does not match our records for that Receipt Number".

    Thanks!

  9. Did you send joint tax transcripts?

The lawyer told me to dig and find anything we can, letters with the same address, from all the places we lived, w2 with same address on, letters and cards from people. We found the insurance of the engagement ring with the cost, date and signiture and address.

We recently went on vacation so Will include the plane tickets.

Pictures from vacations and wedding with family.

Do you think its too late to get a joint bank account? We agrred on keeping finances separate since my husband has many student loans and bad credit, and I am just starting to build credit. So basically my credit would be the only good chance of getting a morgage approved.

  10. Did you send a copies of both of your ids with the same address?

No it does not show on online status. It says: you provided some evidence of marital bona fides, however the documentation is insufficient. They ask for funds or financial obligations, joint owner ships, joint responsabilities for liabilities, communal residence.

We did sent the lease we have now, but no lease from the past.

The problem is that we do not have this stuff. We are yound and when I moved in with him we were still dating, he was sharing a house with friends, got married and we stayd there... only in the past year we managed to rent an apt of our own, and start building credit etc etc.

i am collecting every medical bill, w2, bank statement that states we lived together. Even a medical bill in which I sign him for emergency conant. Don t know what else. I called a lawyer.

    Any advice?

  11. I heard some people who had to wait 9 months to a year to get approved...i agree this is getting ridiculous, Im a june filler got transfered on 11/18 as well and my case was received at csc on 12/08. After the second bio notice, I havent heard anything from them...as courtesy they should send us a notice to let us know how much longer our case is going to take, so we dont worry about it. But I guess that is asking too much.
