Ashley&Yuki reacted to jonilui in AUGUST 2014 K-1 FILERS (TSC)
I keep seeing random August petitions approved and while I'm happy for them, I'm all, "WHY NOT MEEEEEE!". Maybe I should've covered my application in glitter. That random person whose job is just to pick a random one would choose the pretty, shiny one!

Only expedited cases so far, from what I can see. But June is mostly complete and July is starting to roll, so hopefully soon. We are also right at the beginning of the month so hopefully they process August in the appropriate order.

This is another reason to hate USCIS. They don't even make an effort to appear like they're trying to work within their objective of 5 months for normal processing times. Today is my five month anniversary of filing with USCIS. Tomorrow, I'll make two calls. One to USCIS and another to my Senator's office seeking assistance with getting USCIS to keep its stated objective of five months. I don't care how far behind they are. We've been told the five month mark is when we can make noise, so that's exactly what I plan to do - even if it does nothing more than make me feel like I'm trying to get something done.
USCIS doesn't see the people on the other end of the form. We're the ones who listen to our fiancée cry on the telephone because we just want to be together. That's the message that these government drones need to understand. There are real people associated with the petitions who need them to do their job and do it now.

We are 78.8% Touched!
We are 53.03% approved!
That means that USCIS has approved, RFEd or done something with 78% of the files.
This also means that USCIS has approved more than half of June files.

I was told last week that I couldn't call for any "official word" until 5 months had passed. THEN, they supposedly will "help" you.

I just sent the following message to my local congressman and am hoping he can assist.
Congressman Himes,
As a member of your constituency and a person who voted for you in 2010, I feel entitled to raise an issue with you that I am having with the USCIS, in particular the Texas Service Center and their response to a K1 Visa Application I submitted in July. I do not know how familiar you are with the K1 Visa and its process for approval but in simple terms, the K1 visa is a form of Non-Immigrant Visa that I have applied for on behalf of my Fiance so that she can legally enter the United States, provided we were to marry within 90 days. Applications are submitted to the USCIS and are sent to either California or Texas for processing. Unfortunately for myself and the rest of your constituency, all applications from Connecticut are sent to the Texas Service Center which has a lengthy approval time of about 5-6 months. Applicants lucky enough to live in a state that is serviced by the California Service Center receive a response in about a month’s time.
As I mentioned earlier, I submitted my application on July 9th and as of today, it has been 155 long days that I have been waiting to hear back from the USCIS. I met my fiancé when she was living in working in the United States. We are both honest, hard-working people and she wants to come here lawfully so that she can work and contribute to our state’s economy. I think that it is embarrassing for both our Federal government who takes such a long time to process these visa requests and it is embarrassing for our State to be “drawing the short end of the stick” and having our applications sent to Texas instead of California. Connecticut has some of the highest taxes in the country and I believe its citizens deserve the highest level of service the government has to offer. My Case number is SRCXXXXXXXXXX and I hope your office can look into this for me.
I hope to hear back from you and appreciate any response you can provide.
