  2. Hi all!

I arrived here in u.s more than 3 mos ago. And now I realize that it's very hard to stay here without health insurance specially we have a minor child. A month ago my husband got into emergency with a hospital bill of more than 10 thousand dollars and we're so shock about this that almost gets us a heart attack. We think it's too much coz' he is only there for 3 hours then they bill him that much. We're both working but there's no insurance in our job so we're planning now to get a family health insurance for us but we can't decide yet coz' we don't know what is the best and cheapest one for three of us. Any suggestion here most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  3. I believe that the customs form is the only form that is required for someone using an immigrant visa. The I-94 is an entrance-exit visa and is for non-immigrants, not imigrants. I am sure someone else who has entered on a CR/IR will be able to confirm this.

Kathryn is correct. If you read the instructions at the top of the I-94, you'll notice it says that aliens with an immigrant visa do not need to fill out the I-94. If you have an immigrant visa, the customs form is the only form to fill out on the plane. Only one customs form is required per family travelling together.

I agree the two posted above is right. I entered here as IR-1 too.

  4. My son and I came here in U.S last july 17 thru SFO. We passed POE in 10 mins. and the guy there asked me if idid bring foods, I said no. Sinced I heard that they're very strict in bringing foods, so I avoid to do it.

  5. My son and I leaving very soon... Anyone here had experienced SFO POE? Is it true traveling with american citizen kid no lots of question ask in POE?

    Any info appreciated........

    Thanks!

Came through SFO POE with my family - they had tourist visas and I was on K-1. They were here for my wedding and would return. The officer didn't ask them any questions, other than asking me if they were here for my wedding. Looked at package, did the necessary stamps, thumb prints and photo shoots for all of us. Reminded me that I had 90 days to get married and waved me through...

We only had problems with our luggage as I alone had one huge luggage with 2 boxes of clothes. parents had one luggage, sis had another one... They screened through it in fear that we brought food over!

This is what I want to know on how they strict in screening the luggage coz' I'm planning to bring some my country made chocolate and milk powder candies that my hubby missed. Is this allow?

    thanks!
