    NVC No Longer Collecting Original Civil Documents

    Last month when I submit photocopies of all documents, NVC response is attached.

    ______3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE:_______________________________________

    original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

    Its because you might have send just the xerox copy, if you send xerox copies take the time to notarize it, so it wont create an issue. I hope i made it clear.

    DONE with NVC!...Embassy here I come! :)

    Can you tell that I'm overly excited? Yeahhhh! I received my interview letter today (via email). My Interview is scheduled for April 28, 2015, which is also my parents' wedding anniversary :dancing: . Thank god this process will soon be over, I hate the long waiting and uncertainty.

    I do have a question to my fellow VJers. My visa class is IR-2 and I just turned 22 years old. Do I really need to submit a Certificate of No-Impediment to Marriage. I always thought that was only for K-1 filers but I did some reading and I may need to get it. What you guys think? DO you have any tips for an IR-2 visa interview?

    Also good luck to everyone who is still at the NVC stage, I know what it's like, especially being checklisted. Continue to keep the faith!

    NEED ADVICE:I had sent one Civil Document ( Birth Certificate Non availability ) which was originally in ENGLISH only . Now NVC think its an English Translation and asked me for photocopy of ORIGINAL i.e Native Language , How should I Clarify them that this Documents is Originally in English and Not in Native Language . Should I call them or EMAIL them or Write them ????

    Call them ur question will be answered on time, nvc doesnt reply to emails in time, they take atleast 30 days.

    Hi destroyed 92, thank you for your answer and it is very helpful. But I have one more little question: As clicked into the website you provided and found "Start your application", but I checked my email box and I still don't have the COA yet. So, should I now still wait for the COA? Or should I now "Start your application"?

    One of my friend already submitted COA without the welcome letter/ official email from NVC. So, Fill it up no issues.

    Hi sachin, thank you for replying. No, I don't have a lawyer in my case, so should I just wait for the COA now?

    Thank you batman ;), so, is it right that I should now wait for my COA first and then complete the fees payments later? And could you please tell me where can I check my ds-261 status? And what does ds-261 mean please?

    Hi! Do you mean you have received your COA pleasee?

    COA (DS261) is the first step without filling it you cant pay any fees. Just wait for ur COA and fill it once it turns up.

    Ds261 is the choice of agent. It means you can appoint yourself as an agent and fill out your details in the form.

    You can check ur status here: https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx Enter ur case number and invoice id number and you are good to go.

    If it states "Start your application" then you have received ur COA (DS261)

    Shivam how do u know that it will move upto 15 months per year boss my pd is 16 june 2004 do u have any idea when we will revieve first letter from nvc yar kitna wait karna parna ab bhai kisi ko kuch pata ho toh bata day

    Ur pd is june 2004, so its a long waiting time right now. No one knows what NVC is doing right now whether they are processing faster or slower.

    Congrats now wait for interview. However I am waiting for my case complete too. sent AOS on 29th october, dont know when will they finish the review.

    My AOS status has changed from Paid to N/A about 3days and then NVC emailed me

    Hey, so yesterday my civil documents reached to NVC. I have a question we had mentioned everything like our BMB number and Visa category on the cover that we made but Fed Ex removes that cover and keep the documents in their own cover. Now, I am afraid they have not mentioned our case number and visa category on it. Now, will that be a issue, documents reached on monday and NVC hasnt emailed me that they have received the documents and will take 60 days to review it. I am worried I might lose my documents or they'll say they never received it :oops:

    The General checklist is called the "False Checklist" which you can ignore than panic..Keep calling NVC and also an eye for your email Inbox.. :thumbs:

    Calling NVC from India is next to impossible, however i'll wait for an email from them.

    Once it changes to N/A...it means there are no checklists for you and within a weeks time you should receive your case complete email and then onto the local consulate... :thumbs:

    Why did you wait for the 60 day review...you could have called NVC earlier.... :clock:

    After I submitted my AOS, I got an email saying that it will take 60 days to review your documents due to increased number of applications that NVC is taking now.

    PS I submitted my documents on 29th october and havent received any checklists till date. :unsure:
