I live in Florida now having moved from North Carolina and I much prefer it here. Before I get grief from people from North Carolina, no I did not say I disliked North Carlina, I spent a very happy two years there (in Charlotte) and loved the mountains and beaches (even though both were a few hours away) and Charlotte itself, but I do like the Tampa Bay more. I like Miami too for the same reasons as HappyNathy.

I would not bother going to the effort of re-financing, just to please USCIS, which I am sure you won't do. I did not even bother opening a joint bank account just for their benefit. All you need are documents with either you or your spouses name on them, once all have the same address, that is fine.

In my case, I sent in a one or two utility bills with only my wife's name on them and a few bank statements and even junk mail with my name on it. Although I sent in a lot less than I had done with the I-751 ROC. For the N-400, jointly filed tax transcripts are probably the most important items in terms of proving you both live together.

...in the letter it said like "...based on your security checks, you will be scheduled for the interview" Did any one have this phrase in your letter? If you did, did you receive a letter for your biometrics appoinment? If the letter said so, I should only be waiting for the interview letter? Do you know how long would it be to the interview date?

That was in my letter also, and is probably standard. I was called for Biometrics, even though my figerprints should still be valid on their system. I am now waiting on the interview letter. Looking at the timelines from March applicants that seems to arrive 5-8 weeks after the application is submitted.

I don't think Tampa does same day oaths BigRay. I would think you'll be scheduled for the next Oath ceremony after your interview date at the Tampa Convention Center, which is on 6/11/2009.

Either way keep us up to date and let us know how the interview went. I did my biometrics at Bay Plaza Blvd in Tampa this morning, so I should see my interview letter arrive within the next few weeks.

Wait, when are applicants citizenship NOT based on your interview? Didn't think you could fail biometrics unless your a terrorist or fail the oath unless you come in screaming #### THE USA lol

I meant your interview will determine or not if ALL of us April filers get our citizenship, since no one else got their interview letter yet, we're all relying on you :lol: So no, try to refrain from running into the interview screaming #### THE USA, this place sucks etc etc etc. :unsure: Although you can say it in Portuguese, I am sure the IO won't know what you mean if you smile while saying it.

Hey all.. grats on you guys for your bio appts....
I'm here countin down till my Interview....... I'm surprised no-1 else has reported back receiving an Interview Letter yet.... any1 call and ask if they have sent them out yet? gotta me commin soon!!

USCIS have said that all April applicants will get their citizenship (or not) based on your interview. So you better do well.

BTW, I'm not too long back from Brazil. Had an excellent time. I went to Belém, Sallinas, Ubatuba, Paraty and Ilha Anchieta. A beautiful country.

J&D : Don't be disappointed. I don't consider your appointment to be so far away. We're talking about two weeks.
I rather wait than spend several hours waiting for an improbable appointment. On the grand scheme of things, unless you would like to apply for a government job, two weeks are not such a big deal.

Maybe I am just unrealistic, I just had to wait almost a year for my removal of condition on my permanent residence, so this N-400 application seems to be going pretty fast.

jeangab75, on the contrary, you are being realistic and I am being unrealistic. My wife pretty much echoed your words. It took almost a year for our conditions to be removed also and the amount of documentation required took de-logging most of the Amazon rainforest to create, whereas the application for Naturalization is moving much quicker, with less hassle and very little required documentation.

I agree that 2 weeks or so to wait for the biometrics is no big deal. The only thing really of concern is that we may have to move within the next 3 months and I would have prefered to have this over and done with without having to put in the change of address forms and have the whole application being transferred to a different District Office elsewhere in the US or Florida, then suffer a possible delay of several more months and the possibility of documents being lost etc.

But as you said, it is time to be realistic and not worry about 2 or so weeks, and if we have to move, we have to move, so be it.

Walk-ins don't change priority dates, so application processing time isn't affected what it affects though is that it gives a head-start to the fbi name-check

I'm a little disappointed that my Biometrics appointment is so far away. I know that walk-ins won't change priority dates, but getting a head start on the FBI name check would be a good thing. I'll try a walk-in between now and my appointment date to see if I have the same luck as wifey246, or to see if I get kicked out and told to never ever ever come back again (until my appointment )

I can understand your disappointment in the teacher. Are there other reasons why you hate Miami/Kendall? My wife and I may be moving to Kendall and I want to know if it's a good or bad spot. I realize that depends on the person of course, but you can let me know the reasons why you dislike it there.

Question for all,
They request you bring all passports from all countries you may have to the Interview. What do they do with them? Simply look at them?

I would think so. Or at least hope so. Passports and driver's licenses are always the property of the country that issued them, so the US Gov cannot take them from you.

I have heard stories of the DMV insisting that LPR's surrender their foreign countries driver's license before being issued one from the state in which they received the new US state license. While I did have to surrender my NC license for an FL license when we moved, I just had to show my Irish driver's license (in NC prior to being issued a US license for the first time). The DMV looked at it and returned it. Hopefully USCIS will do the same with my Irish passport.
