  1. Are you sure, I just want to be sure!

And what weird was in the letter they said my financial support was not meeting the minimum but over the phone The lady said the financial support is good but they do need the marriage certificate ,is in that weird?

The NVC no longer needs original documents (this started back in November of 2014, if I remember correctly). Photocopies are fine. The originals will need to be presented at the interview.

Call again to confirm that you do not need to correct the affidavit of support.

    Good Luck.

  2. Please I need help people, I just received the check list saying they need my marriage certificate, my original one was submitted with the petition a year ago the only other copy is with my wife back there. Can she just take it to the interview or do I have to make her send me a New certified marriage certificate. ??

You just need her to scan it and send by email to you. Then you print a copy to send in with the checklist. You do not need the original.

  3. Do both parties have to log in to complete 6 steps or only one ?

    Thanks

Step 6 is the AOS (Affidavit of Support) package, it is sent in by mail along with the IV (Immigrant Visa) package.

However, I believe Canada does EP (Electronic Processing), I do not have experience with that, but I am sure someone who does will answer shortly. My gut says it does not matter who submits it.

  4. Hello.

We were able to fill our DS 260 finally yesterday!

I however noticed today that under the work/education/training information area, there is no tab for previous work/education/training.....

There's only a "Present"and "Additional" tab, no "Previous"...

Anyone experienced this? ...how do we solve this? Would this affect anything?

    Please help!

    Thanks.

This happened to me and my wife. The previous work experience tab disappeared. So far no problem, but I am waiting on Case Complete.

Just fill out what it asks for. If they want previous employer information they will ask for it at the interview. (This is what I learned from searching for solutions like you are currently doing)

  5. The amount of days is total till they will either give a case complete, or send a check-list. It is not a delay until they start the processing.

Electronic Processing (EP) seems to be going sower than paper processing. The second link was about EP times.

The 45 days you were quoted for paper processing is congruent with the first links spreadsheet, it shows that they are speeding up.

  6. I will not be happy but then again I will not assume that the waiter had control over the situation and I will try to find out from the manager why my meal was taking so long. The operators are a lot like the waiter they only know what they are told If the cook tells the waiter we are just super busy but in reality there is a problem with the stove or something the waiter may or may not know

Oops I meant to quote the response above yours! Oh well.

  7. yes it is I do not think the operators on the phone know that much, only what they are told

If they had told you it would be done next week and it was not, would you be more happy or less happy?

It's like working as a waiter in the restaurant, sure I could tell you that your dinner will be out in 10 minutes, even though I am not the cook, I can make a reasonable guess. Your dinner may or may not make it in that time frame. If it does, you are indifferent. If it does not, you will be mad. Therefore the waiter tells you 20 minutes, even though it seems as though everyone else is getting it in 10. That way you are less likely to be mad about something that is ultimately not within the waiters control.

  8. so im just curious about this 'Termination of Registration' thing.

i asked NVC a question via email and they replied me this also stating this "Do not let more than one year pass without contacting the NVC concerning this visa petition. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

" so does that mean that even if im asking questions from nvc via email or telephone like i did where they msged me this ^ , my case is safe and is still on going?

in the nvc welcome letter it said that a case is only processed for a year, that made a little scared , since the nvc processes are soo slow, in most cases the process goes beyond a year

First, most cases are not at the NVC for greater than a year. Most cases are at the NVC for approximately 6 months (according to visajourney stats).

Second, you will be in contact with the NVC a great deal. Much more so than the USCIS. This amount of contact will always reset the clock. If you call the NVC it resets the clock. If you send in documents, it resets the clock. If you email the NVC, it resets the clock.

It would be very hard to have a case go to termination due to a lack of communication.

Do not worry, relax, do something enjoyable. The NVC will get it done, eventually.

  9. When i pud the case number, invoice, the system dont let me pay, it says that the case is beging termination, and if this is an error please contact nvc

Give it a day or 2. Then try again. See the NVC guide here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

    Especially this bit:

    • "Note: if you're getting an error message ("Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time…" or "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…" or "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."), do NOT panic. This is actually good news! If you just got your case number, then this message means NVC is inputting your case in their system. If you get this message a few days after case number generation, then it's a good possibility that NVC is invoicing your AOS bill. And if this message appears a few days after DS-261 acceptance, then there's a good chance the IV bill is being invoiced."
  10. It sounds as though you have submitted the AOS and IV supporting documents already. The 60 day time frame is typically what you will hear from the phone representative in regards to those packets.

Call them. They will veryify who you are, and then they will usually give you a brief summary of what events have happened (" we received your files on date xx/xx/2015"). Once they finish they will ask what they can do for you, say this exactly:

"I was hoping that you would be able to review the DS 261 over the phone today."

This is a "soft" way of asking for something. You are not making a demand, yet you are gently reminding them that they can, if possible, review the DS 261 over the phone.

If they can, they typically will. If they can not, they will say something like "I am sorry the file is currently locked." If the file is locked, that usually means it is the process of adding information to the file (perhaps your AOS and IV packet information). Once that is done the file will unlock and the phone representative will be able to review the DS 261 over the phone.

    I hope this helps.

I'm waiting and i've sent the DS-261 3 days before you. Would you recommend me to call and ask for it?
I received the letter that they've received all the documents and telling me to wait as much 60 days,
but i didn't paid the IV Fee. There's a chance to pay on the embassy of Spain?
  11. I'm on the same boat, they have my contact information. But the NVC agent told me that it takes 42 days to review and said currently they are not reviewing the Choice of Agent form on the phone... sigh...

They will review the form over the phone, once they are able to edit the files. They can not edit the file if the file is still in processing (adding the initial information from uscis).

Call them twice a week (Wednesday / Friday). Be polite and if you can cheer them up, phone work sucks.

A very rude lady said it would be 42 days once. In the end it was 22 days, and apparently they were having some computer issues.

    Be patient, it will come.

  12. A Japanese Police Clearance Certificate will be sealed. It must remain sealed for it to be valid. Do not open it.

I am not sure about other countries.

Since they are already open, take them to the interview. If they want sealed originals they will ask for them to be submitted at a later date.

Don't stress about it, everything will be fine.

Hi everyone. Our interview is scheduled for next week. My wife has obtained the police and hospital reports, but I read somewhere that they have to be in unopened sealed envelopes directly from the police and hospital.

Any truth to that statement? My wife unknowingly opened everything, so I hope she didnt spoil anything that needed to stay sealed.
