hello..i just want to keep you updated. i have sent an email to Cairo asking about my file and they answer me saying that THEY HAVENT RECIVE THE CASE YET it has been 10 weeks of waiting !!! im so disppointed

my case has updated 3 times( 25-Nov ) (2-Dec ) (3-Dec).The status still TRANSFER IN PROGRESS But Cairo still saying that they have not recive my case yet

I contacted hk and they said that they have not received any request from manila YET.... she is in the middle of the typhoon and haven't talked to here in a couple of days since it hit .

i have 2 questions for you ..

-what does the CEAC site says ??? Tansfer in Progress or READY or what ?? its the main thing you should focus on !!!

-did your case updated (changing in the dates ) since you request it to go to the embassy you want ??

my case updated for the 3rd time !! the updates was in 25- Nov , 2- Dec and 3- Dec !!BUT its still TRANSFER IN PROGRESS ..

I hope it change to READY so soon ..

Im happy to update our papers that its already in hongkong....

I just check ceac this morning and updated nov.28,and in the last part of our case # is already "HNK"(means hongkong)... Before its "MNL"(means manila)...im waiting for packet 3 now hopefully i will receive it nxtweek.... Tnx GOD and to all people helping us.

I did not ask them I watched the CEAC and it said transfer in progress and later contacted the embassy and the case was there.

The assistent was also confused with the case number remaining the wrong embassy's prefix but I addressed my email to a CO and received

the response that the number will remain the same.

Just have the seantor inquire where your case file is and you should have an answer in a week from him.

As I told you last time it took us about 2 months for the transfer to be completed.

If you are still worried, have the petitioner's senator do an inquiry as to where exactly your case file physically is now.

is there any why to know ? is the NVC can help??

today i complete 2 months of waiting ! have you faced the same answers from both embassies ? one says (we sent it) and the other says( we haven't receive it yet)

ok ..my interview was scheduled in OCt 1st to do my interview US counselor in Jerusalem but i couldn't go there!! so I requested my interview to go to Cairo ! in September 19th Cairo agreed and said they acceptto do my interview in Cairo ..and they request the file from Jerusalem !

after a weeks I starts contacting both embassies.. Jerusalem told me that they sent the file in Sep 19th !BUT Cairo said they didn't receive it ! I have been waiting for8 weeks with no answer at all !!!! just them same answer from Cairo every time

The CEAC checking statue telling that my case is TRANSFER PROGRESS !!! (Your immigrant visa case has been transferred to another U.S. consular office. You should check back for your case status at a later date).

how long should i wait until Cairo send me my new interview date ???

please i need your help im so worried !

yes ,you can change it to any country you want ! BUT you have to be a residence of that country or you work there ! OR you can tell them that you have a special case ..

We received hk embassy email nov.6 saying they already requested our files from manila....but still(ready) no changing in any transfer progress...

praying for the best for you i hope you get some good news soon ..i think its going to be a quick process because the package still at NVC ! they will send it directly to the embassy you want when the case become completed !!

how long it takes with you until you got READY ??

Hi Moka, it took our case exactly 8 weeks to transfer from Montreal to London. I checked our case status everyday and saw "Transfer in Progress" until finally on the 8th week it said "Ready" again. My fiance then immediately made his medical appt in the UK since he hadn't done that in Canada yet, and now we're waitig for an interview date. It is my understanding that it may take a couple of weeks now for an interview date letter to be sent to us, and then after that another month or so until the actual interview. But that timeframe was for London so may be totally different than Cairo.

Can you email the Cairo embassy? London was very good at responding to our emails within a couple of days, even if their replies weren't always very helpful.

Jerusalem told me they transferred it in September 19th !! the CEAC says the last update was in Oct 1st !

Just keep an eye on the CEAC, it will change when they are ready to proceed.

NVC send our case to the wrong embassy and I asked the right embassy to request it back. It took about 8 weeks.

Keep watching your CEAC, there is no definite time table and it takes as long as it takes. Continue to be proactive as you have been

and send an email or call Cairo once a week or so.
