We haven't called yet. I'm planning to call around Thurs or Fri. How bout you?

Is it true that NVC is now only excepting photocopies of civil documents?

Yes, I have read an article that they released last Nov 12, if I'm not mistaken, that they are accepting photocopies and all orig docs will be presented and reviewed at the embassy.

Still nothing here too. We share the same NVC received date (oct 28). Crossing fingers for next week

I just checked my email and received my husband's welcome letter with case number!!! Woohoo!!! I wish I knew how to do a cartwheel because I would do them down my work hallway!! LOL Wishing everyone a speedy process! Thanks to everyone here on VJ for all of their support and encouragement!

I was about to call NVC to check, however, I saw your post and made me think maybe I won't be getting mine as well since we have the same received date. I hope we can have it anytime soon so we can start the NVC process

My husband called today, still no case number as well. Will they really maximize the 42 days?

Just got off the phone with NVC, our case arrived on Oct 28! Pheew. I was starting to worry it had been lost or something. I was also told that I would receive communication from NVC soon. I asked "like, how soon? " but the rep kept saying to contact them if 42 days have passed by.

I am the USC living overseas with my wife and i am not able to receive the medical treatment that i need there and have to return to the united states. As a result of this we have cannot afford to live apart and to pay rent for two living spaces. My move back to the states is causing us a huge financial loss that is made worse by the substantial visa processing times. I know its not life or death but the embassy has been extremely helpful and quickly approved our expedite request in hopes of us being together in our move to the states.

I filed for an expedite for my wife's CR-1 with the NVC, the embassy quickly approved the expedite request but wen i have talked to the NVC they don't see any response from the embassy on their end. Does it usually take more then a few days for the embassy to relay their decision to the NVC ? I was also told by the embassy that the case will not be forwarded until the IV fee shows up as Paid. I guess i just wondering if i should be concerned that the NVC hasn't heard from the Embassy.

May I know the reason for the expedite? We are planning to request for expedite as well. Thanks!
