So what is " your request" ? Are we supposed to write a paper saying why we can't show up or potential dares we are interested in? Not getting this part...what if I only mail the notice with the "rescheduling my appointment" square marked? Also, it is 10 days, if it is mailed tomorrow, do you think it will be proceeded on time for the ones who have experienced it? I am kind of in a panic right now, please let me know ! I think the phrase you mention means that the request to reschedule will be in the original biometrics appointment letter. Meaning, just check the Reschedule my appointment box, and that is your request in the original of the notice.

Regarding 10 days - I think you should be fine. It is enough time for them to receive your request. I am not sure though how far back they will reschedule your appointment to. We'll wait for somebody with experience to respond here.

I can be wrong, but I think all you need to do is to mark the biometrics appointment letter in the request reschedule section, and mail it to them. No additional document/letter is necessary.

When we travel my husband will not have a new I-551 stamp, he'll only need his green card,correct? When they review his passport they are not going to be looking for a new i-551 stamp as long as he has his green card, correct?

Correct for both questions!

Physical Green card is simply a proof of residency. so is I 551 stamp in your passport. Which means if you have traveled outside of the country and they have delivered the green card at your home, you should be okay with your I 551 stamp in the passport. YOu should be able to enter the country without any trouble from them.

So I went to my info pass appointment and got my passport stamped with an I-551 stamp valid for 1 year from today. I asked if they can give me a case status update, and he said they don't have any updates and something about that it takes so long to process applications because they don't have enough people... Also, he said that I can apply for citizenship if my ROC case is still pending by the time I am eligible to apply for citizenship which I knew already anyway. I asked him if it is ok that my case status is not updated on the website, and he said it is ok, doesn't mean anything.

So I didn't hear anything new really, just got my passport stamped and can now confidently travel and return to the U.S. till June 2016...

Just realized that I forgot to ask the officer about what happens if I travel and get my ROC approved while being outside the U.S., and if I don't have a new physical card on hand returning to the U.S. Anybody knows how that works?

LOL...yeah, tell all the remaining cases they are next. We may be on to something. I was actually about to delete emails on my laptop and I saw "USCIS." I was like what...."USCIS!" I opened the email and I saw the magic words: Card/Document Production. Five minutes later I received a text stating that my case had been updated.

Was the status also updated on the website? My status on the website has never changed after they received my documents...

I so feel you. We have a couple of trips in mind, along with the big trip back to my husband's country. Planning without GC is only a dream trip. We are so ready to get our international travel on . I've just starting looking at the visa process. It doesn't seem fun but many of the consulates are nearby so we'll do a daytrip to submit the applications. Just another process to go through. .

You do not need to cancel the trip for this reason.

Get online and get an infopass appointment from your nearest USCIS center.

take your NOA and passport to your infopass appointment to get an I 551 stamp.

They will stamp your passport which equivalent to having a green card.

I got it done in Dec. and since then I have travelled twice outside the country...no issues whatsoever.

What happens if my green card arrives when I am on my trip (our trip is going to be a long-term trip around multiple countries, not a short vacation trip)? Will I be able to enter the U.S. without my new green card and just with the old green card, the extension letter and the stamp in my passport?

My only concern about traveling is if a decision is made and it's an RFE or denial (because that is always a possibility) what happens upon reentry into the US? We are planning a big trip later in the year and having the GC stuff out of the way would be a huge relief. I don't plan to book anything until the card is in hand. .

That's funny, my husband and I have the same problem. We have planned a big trip this year which we are planning to start in the second half of July, but if I don't get my ROC approved in the next couple of weeks we will have to cancel the trip and postpone it to the next year (we want to travel in summer). I am also not buying any tickets or paying for any hotels. I have started applying for visas though. It is also hard to apply for visas when you don't know exactly when your trip will happen... I am already mentally getting ready to cancel this year's big trip, but my husband is hoping we can still make it... I wish I knew that VSC is so slow before we started planning the trip...

My husband called the Military Hotline for an update and then they transferred him to the customer service. I shortly after got the email confirmation and then the online status was updated - I wish everyone all the luck for those who are still waiting I feel your pain!

Just got the text yesterday that my wife's case was updated...a new card is on order! Next step...Filing for Citizenship this fall.

I tried to submit it online first but it told me that I was withing processing time, in the mean time I'll make an appointment to get the passport stamped in case we need to travel. Hoping they update the processing time soon

Yes, I also tried to submit a service request several days ago and once I submitted the website confirmation page told me that my case is within processing time. I then signed up for an info pass appointment to get my passport stamped for a trip I am planning to do this summer with my husband. My info pass appointment is this Friday. We'll see if they give me any update on my case.

Correct. Or once processing time states a number of months which is lower than the number of months from your NOA1 receipt date till the current date. So if your NOA1 receipt date is 11/3, then if the processing time table says 7 months, then you can submit your service request after 6/3 since that is when your wait is over 7 months.

If my N01 was on 11/3/2014, when can I submit and inquiry?

You can try to submit now, but it will most likely tell you that it is within the processing time since according to the processing time info page they say they are finished only working on Sept 29 cases...

It has been solid more than 2 weeks since the last approved person. I checked again it says Sept 29th last complete case and we know this is not true based on people from July 2014 still waiting. Also I am hoping on Monday they will update that info and will move a little forward, but without approving people in between last month and now I doubt it they will even bother changing the date to anything after Oct 5th. Which means us Oct/Nov filers are going to have to wait for at least another month:(

I have just checked the USCIS VSC processing time information page, and it looks like they updated something on that page yesterday (June 9, 2015), but the dates listed are still as of March 31, 2015, and September 29 is still listed against the I-751 form. Super frustrating!

It looks like as if they stopped working on the ROC cases for now and working on some other cases their office is also responsible for...

Gemma, use the number from your NOA1 notice, NOT the number you use to check your case status from your biometrics appointment letter. Basically, you can try both EAC numbers, one of them should work.

I know me and you sent our packages the same day, even though my NOA-1 is 11/15/14, my biometrics were done on 12/11/14, so this is only 10-11 days before yours. They took a lot of time to send me my NOA-1 notice and they took a lot of time to send you the biometrics appointment. I would like to see what will be the time difference of our approvals, I bet it will be more than 6 weeks apart. They will process either you first and leave my case for a month sitting somewhere or just the other way around. Since there is absolutely no consistency in VSC approvals, which means there is no way we will get approved around the same time. I really hope we get approved in mid June, but then again we are talking about VSC.

My N01 date was in November. All of the people approved before me, their N01 day was in October. The remaining cases that has an N01 date in November hasn't been approved. The only one that's been approved under Vermont is a "son" case. So, I'm not too worried, or I wasn't until you said, "some people before you were approved already." . But looking at the list, not being approved, seems correct based on my N01 date being in November. Hopefully, we'll hear something by the end of July, if not sooner, we hope.

I am a little worried about how soon I will hear regarding my case though. I received my bio appointment letter too late (they probably lost the first one, so they sent me the second one after I called USCIS), so I did my bio on 12/22. I hope that will not put my case one extra month behind everybody else from this thread...

Anyway, hopefully we will get more approvals soon.

With regards to approvals, a few weeks back case approvals seemed to be on a roll for getting approved. Now, it feels like the approvals are coming in a lot slower.

Yes, I also noticed. Maybe they are still recovering from the long Memorial Day weekend... I hope you get your approval soon though as some people before you were approved already.

I sure did...they said that the Tax Return was incomplete which is rubbish, they said that the bank statements wasn't for the entire time we were married so I need every single statement, I sent a bill showing we bought the car together, I sent two affidavits, photographs together, car insurance.

Any further documents to send?

That's a lot of documents indeed! I also sent Tax Return printouts (a huge pile of paper) from TurboTax, not official IRS transcripts

Plamjordan11, is a cover letter recommended when you send your paperwork? I didn't send a cover letter, and not sure if this will slow down their decision.

I did my early bio today in Atlanta! I tried to do a walk-in first time last Friday (December 19th) at 9am, but they didn't let me in and told me they didn't allow walk-ins that day due to too many people. I tried again today (Monday, December 22nd), arrived at 7.50 am, the guard asked all walk-ins to wait in a separate line outside the building, but we were inside pretty quickly. I was in and out within about 40 minutes.

All bios are now done in our October list. Hopefully, it won't be too long until our ROCs are approved. Happy Holidays and Good Luck, everybody!

Hi SandM, yes, it is within the usual timeframe. If you don't get the biometrics appointment letter within 30 days from your NOA1 receipt date, call USCIS and tell them about it. They then should send you the biometrics appointment letter soon after (unless your biometrics data is current). That happened to me, I called USCIS after 30 days of waiting, and got my biometrics appointment letter within a week after my call. Don't worry yet!

Apologies if this isn't the proper thread, but we received out NOA1 with receipt date 11/26, and so far have not received a biometrics appointment. Is this within the usual timeframe?
