  1. Hi sorry,

I couldn't see you name to address you properly.

How did the IMBRA affect your case? timewise etc I remember the law was signed just as we were doing well on our case. We had to fill another form even though we were already married.

I think there can be some perceptions of age, race, build when it comes to international relationships. It would be nice that a documentary can educated those to believe that not everyone has a 'mail-order' bride. With the age of social networking the issue of international relationships will only increase.

  2. Hi,

I'm not sure if this post belongs in this forum, so if it needs moving then so be it, or advise where to.

I am writing a proposal for documentary concerning the Legal Immigration process for finance/married couples. I especially interested in focusing on the many difficulties that this process brings - financial, emotional and bureaucracy.

My and wife I both went through the system of immigration in 2006.I now hold a greencard - actually I should update my own timeline :)

I remember very well the emotional strain of being a newly wed while my wife was in states, as I endlessly waited on the USCIS in London. Most of the time I felt this site was my only friend and legal advisor. It struck me, and still does, that there are a many stories out there needing to be told. Much has been highlighted as regards to illegal immigration in this country (USA), I feel it necessary to readdress the balance and portray the other side of the coin.

If you have story you want to share, thoughts or simply feelings of what you would like to see in this project then please respond here. Alternatively please email me in confidence at:

I am based in Chicago - so especially interested in couples from this area.I hoping to go into production some time early 2009.

    kindest regards

  3. i wonder if any of you can help since this is about Nebraska cases transfered to California...

my husband and i mailed our I-751 package to the Nebraska Service Center last week...not knowing it is now the California Service Center that's processing them for our state. (i just saw the post here yesterday about the change...and the darned USCIS website still says Nebraska!!)

i'm really frustrated because according to USPS tracking, our package has gone from here to Nebraska, then to California and is now back in Nebraska again!! how could that happen? it doesn't make any sense to me that it's gone back to Nebraska when California are the ones doing the processing.

does anyone have any insight? and can someone give me instructions for how to get a live human being on the USCIS phone line?

    thanks in advance.

  5. Arrived last week into the states on my CR-1 immigrant visa. I was wanting to know when i should expect my SS number.Does it arrive via mail or must i apply in person at the social security office.

A letter with my visa explains that if I requested a SSnumber in application it should be mailed to me.I am fairly sure i did request this but as of yet nothing has arrived and too be honest i dont just want to wait with the view that isnt the case

any experience or advise with this?

    regards vern

  6. Hi all,

I am in the states at the moment on my K3 visa. I just received news that my CR-1 interview will be on the 15th November....some 8days away now! Due to personal commitments I cannot make this date and have emailed the embassy twice ( 2nd and 7th Nov) now to see if i can reschedule the date.As yet no response.

Does anyone know how i can get through to a person at the embassy on the phoneline?? rather than the hundreds of options of just information. As I am out of the Uk I will need possibly my mother to do the call.

    regards

    vern

  7. Does anybody have any experience of rescheduling a CR-1 interview or know how easy it is to do,if at all?

I have been given my date for the 15th November.I am now in the states as I entered on the K3.

Finances and personal commitments dictate that a later date would be more suitable to travel back for.I have emailed the London embassy today but am interested to hear any further information on the matter.

any help much appreciated as always!!

    vern.

....and with this our 8 month wait is over.

On the 11th October will we back together again. We would like like to say thankyou to VisaJourney community for guides, forum responses and general support. We all need each on here, never forget that.

Will we continue our journey with CR-1 but for now at least we can live a normal life again.

To those that are still waiting...........simply never give up hope!

  9. Being touched doesn't mean that anything is wrong...it just means work is being performed. Trust me, you WANT to be touched. Would you prefer your case was sitting there untouched under somebody's cup of coffee? :P

And I wouldn't worry about it being approved too fast. Just look at our timeline...it was 6 months from the time we filed I-129F to the K3 interview! You should have at least a few more months to wait.

(Ps...my husband had his interview in London today and was approved. Yay!!!:dance::dance: )

I am writing a small piece on my visa journey as a whole. I would appreciate if anyone knew of Immigration statistics. How many people apply for legal immigration each year, how many fail or give up etc etc

Am trying to give the reader an over all view of the bigger picture we are all here part of ...

I promise to share my work when finished.

    many thanks in advance.
